East London Waterworks Park is looking for comms strategists and PR managers to help grow East London Waterworks Park's audiences.

East London Waterworks Park is a charity that has raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for communications strategists and PR to participate in our community-led working group who are promoting public awareness and support of the project. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across communications, content creation, social media, PR, newsletters, film, podcasts or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working group.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

You should be experienced in implementing effective strategic communications, managing media relations and social media platforms by creating engaging content, and building online communities. Strong writing and editing skills for various materials including press releases and social media posts. Comfortable with community-led processes. Our roles are quite flexible. Peace Brigades International (PBI) is an international NGO with over 40 years’ experience providing life-saving protection and support to hundreds of brave human rights defenders who face reprisals because of their activism for social justice. PBI’s trademark protective accompaniment teams in Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Indonesia, Kenya and Nepal are supported by PBI’s International Headquarters in Brussels, and offices elsewhere in the world, such as our UK section, which carries out high-level advocacy for improved governmental and other support for human rights defenders, as well as stronger regulation of transnational business behaviour.

About the role:

A 2.5 month volunteer placement where the selected candidate will not only play a vital role in upcoming projects but also harness their skills in advocacy, communications and administration/logistics. They will deepen their understanding and knowledge of the UK environment, gaining insights into UK politics, international human rights, legal frameworks, advocacy strategies, and communication tactics.

Stipend Information

• Trustees must sign a Trustee Declaration of Willingness to Act to clarify that they are not disqualified from being a trustee and that they accept the post. 

• In addition to our standard declaration of willingness, trustees also need to complete a declaration from the Charity Commission and read their guidance for individuals on who can’t be a trustee or senior manager of a charity.

• Ongoing support is also provided by regional and national RSPCA staff in addition to any additional training provided by the relevant branch.

MINDSET is a bold new charity supporting men to speak up, grow, and thrive. We’re looking for a Treasurer to lead on financial management and controls, helping us build robust systems that empower our mission.

Your Role: Charity Treasurer (Volunteer)

You’ll lead the financial setup and oversight of MINDSET, ensuring we have the right systems, processes, and procedures in place from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement financial systems and controls.

• Set up budgeting, reporting, and bookkeeping processes.

• Ensure compliance with charity finance regulations and best practice.

• Advise the board on financial strategy and risk.

• Prepare financial reports for trustees and funders.

• Approx. 5 hours per month (flexible).

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience in finance, accounting, or charity financial management.

• Strategic thinker with a practical mindset.

• Familiar with UK charity finance regulations (or willing to learn).

• Passionate about mental health, inclusion, and grassroots change.

• Able to lead on systems setup and guide others with clarity and empathy.
