Be Enriched - recent recipients of The Kings Award for Voluntary Servie 2025 - are seeking an inspirational Chairperson to lead our Board of Trustees and guide our next phase of strategic growth. We use food as a tool to bring people together, cultivate joy and dignity whilst fighting food waste and nourishing the community.

What will you be doing?

The Chair plays a pivotal role in guiding the board, ensuring the charity is governed effectively and remains true to our vision and mission. Additionally, the Chair serves as a passionate ambassador for the charity, representing its values and goals.

Scope of Responsibilities 

Governance and Strategic Leadership 

• Provide leadership to the board in the establishment of organisations overall strategy and policies.

• Direct boards policy-making process and guidance to ensure strategic alignment. 

• Monitor decisions taken by the board to ensure effective execution. 

Board Management 

• Build and develop the board by leading efforts in recruiting new trustees and ensure the board is diverse, skilled, and working cohesively. Foster a culture of mutual respect and collaboration. 

• Plan annual schedule of board meetings and establish agendas. 

• Chair and facilitate board meetings. 

Representation and Advocacy 

• Act as Ambassador for Be Enriched at external events, meetings and functions when required. 

• Actively participate in and show support for the charity's events and projects, demonstrating leadership and commitment to its mission. 

Executive Liaison and Oversight 

• Liaise closely with CEO to maintain strategic overview and provide appropriate support. 

• Serve on senior appointment panels as needed.

Formal Procedures 

• Act as the final stage adjudicator in formal disciplinary and grievance procedures, in accordance with the organisation’s policies.

• Support and provide advice on Be Enriched’s visions mission and goals. 

• Ensure the effective, efficient, and prudent administration of the organisations.

• Safeguard the organisations financial stability and ensure proper investment of funds. 

• Ensure key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively. 

• Provide support and challenge the CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs. 

• Attend quarterly board meetings (online) and AGM (in-person), adequately prepared for group discussion.

• Use independent judgement, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect Be Enriched’s interest, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or third-party interest.

• Maintain a thorough and informed understanding of the organisation's activities, as well as the broader external issues that affect its work.

• Accept collective responsibility, as part of the board, for the actions and decisions of the organisations and its trustees. 

• Participate in additional tasks as required, such as providing expert advice or assisting with fundraising initiatives.

Terms of Appointment 

Terms of Office 

• Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, with renewal available at end of first term.

Time Commitment 

• Attendance required at four quarterly board meetings (conducted online via Teams from 4:30-5:30pm). 

• Attendance compulsory at the Be Enriched AGM (conducted in-person).

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil CIC is a UK-registered Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering the survivor and young people’s community through advocacy, storytelling, education, and digital innovation.

We are now entering the second stage of our CIC’s development, building the decentralised technological foundation that will support everything we do — from volunteer management and online learning to donor engagement and impact measurement.

The Digital Systems Research & Implementation Team will help us identify the most effective, decentralised, and sustainable digital tools on the market to take us forward.

This team will play a critical advisory role in guiding which platforms we invest in — ensuring that every system we choose is ethical, scalable, open-source, and aligned with our mission.

• Research and evaluate open-source and nonprofit-friendly digital tools (LMS, CRM, donor systems, AI marketing tools, etc.).

• Assess features, usability, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and decentralisation potential.

• Report and recommend the most suitable options for our organisation’s stage of growth.

• Collaborate with external experts (once funding is secured) to help customise and integrate chosen platforms.

The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

We're looking for a finance assistant volunteer who can support the financial administration of the charity using our finance software,  Xero. We The volunteer will support the Chair to undertake regular financial tasks such as budgeting, reporting, and audits while ensuring financial transparency. 
 

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Support the financial management of the Charity using Xero
• Data Entry: Recording financial transactions such as donations, invoices and expenses into our finance software, Xero.
• Weekly Reconciling income into Xero from GoCardless, Stripe, PayPal and other third-party agencies that facilitate donations being made to the charity.
• Maintain financial and accounting records, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Assist with preparing payroll and/or pension information for submission to an external payroll provider (when required)
• Assist with the preparation of the accounts, quarterly and annual accounts for accountant annually as well as supporting funder financial reports
• Track the financial situation of projects
• Ensure that all necessary financial information is recorded accurately
• Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting
• Document Management: Organising and filing receipts, invoices, and other financial documents (digitally).
• Assist the Chair, volunteers or members of staff in understanding and using the accounting software

What will you be doing?

What are we looking for?

The Volunteer Co-ordinators role requires proactive and detail orientated individuals with an organised approach and an interest in supporting small charities. They will have good communication skills. The Volunteer Co-ordinators are responsible for the volunteer aspects of Burning Nights CRPS Support to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s services and ensuring that the volunteers are used optimally.

Our Volunteer Co-ordinators are also responsible for ensuring that suitable volunteers have DBS checks where needed and they are adequately trained to do their role working with our Charity Administrator.

The volunteering program with Quilombo UK requires a minimum of 16 weeks of commitment. We are looking for someone who can offer 12 hours a week, Monday - Friday (2 times a week).

Coempowered is a small but rapidly developing non-profit working to empower indiviuals and help build community capacity among for young people, women, and marginalised communities in the UK and internationally through workshops, classes, semiar, projects and research. We are now building the foundations of our organisation and are looking for a dedicated, creative volunteer who is genuinely passionate about our educational and social mission and willing to grow with us as we expand our work and prepare for charity status.Having seen the impact of our work since 2021, we are now laying the foundations for long-term growth and preparing to register as a charity. This role is central to Coempowered’s next stage of development. We are positioning ourselves to apply for our first grants, develop partnerships, and build sustainable funding streams. We are looking for someone who can take initiative, collaborate closely with the directors, and contribute strategically to our fundraising capacity. Key Deliverables

• Research suitable grant opportunities and funding sources.

• Assist in preparing core organisational documents, including:

  • Activity reports

  • Business plans

  • Project proposals and bids

• Write compelling grant applications tailored to funders’ criteria.

• Prepare outreach materials, donor communications, and mailshots.

• Use direct mailing and other methods to engage potential and existing donors.

• Support the recruitment, coordination, and management of volunteers involved in fundraising activities.

• Ensure smooth execution of all tasks related to fundraising, documentation, and relationship-building.

Dive into lasting impact: Fundraise for East London Waterworks Park to create and shape natural swimming ponds, ecological habitats and community gardens

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

If you would like to help us develop our digital fundraising and our online offer, would you like to join our fundraising and communications teams in creating and implementing a strategy? We would love to hear from anyone with experience of fundraising online or with enthusiasm and a desire to test things out and learn as you go along. Recently we raised over half a million pounds through our Crowdfunder. Now we are looking to create a sustainable medium term income stream online.

The Fundraising Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Thursday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely. We understand that people may not have a lot of time to give, so we want to find volunteers who could give us one-off or ongoing strategic advice and support.

If you have experience in writing grants and funding applications, corporate fundraising, philanthropy, or any other aspect of fundraising, it would be great to hear from you. 

We are keen fundraisers but we are lacking professional in digital fundraising expertise and experience and we would love your help and input. We would welcome one-off advice on the phone or in person, as well as longer term volunteers. 

East London Waterworks Park is an exciting and ambitious project that offers many rewarding opportunities for our volunteers. You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds and forest schools. 

By leading fundraising projects that explore how diverse professionals (architects, ecologists, web developers, community researchers etc.) collaborate to shape community infrastructure, volunteers will directly contribute to the development of a park that truly reflects the needs and desires of the local community. 

Without funding we won’t be able to make it happen. Your input will help us craft experiences that inspire, educate, and engage our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, ultimately driving support for the park's mission and ensuring its long-term sustainability. So you will be directly contributing to the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds.
