We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Service Manager to lead our Help at Home programme across Cambridgeshire. You will oversee service delivery, manage a team of staff and volunteers, and ensure high-quality support for clients transitioning from hospital, or coping with illness at home.

Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for an experienced manager to support the growth of our global education programme.

 This is an ideal role for an experienced project manager who wants to make lasting improvements to the lives of children and animals around the world.

Reporting to the Head of Education at global animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), you will help grow and develop education programmes that protect children from key zoonotic disease and improve the relationship between animals and people.

One child dies from rabies every 10 minutes. Most victims are under the age of 15. Rabies is 100% fatal, but entirely vaccine preventable. Children just need the right information to protect themselves. WVS established Mission Rabies, a campaign that aims to eliminate rabies for good, in 2013. We have worked hard to reach 9.6 million children worldwide, but around half of the world’s 2 billion children at this age still live in rabies endemic countries. You will manage national education managers based across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to spread our core messages to a wider audience. This is essential if we are to deliver our goal to halve the number of people dying from rabies in the next 5 years.

We are looking for somebody who is proactive, driven and has a history of making things happen. The ideal candidate will have a results-oriented mindset, be comfortable working with ambiguity and adaptable to change. As an organisation we are embracing hybrid working, and remote working within the UK could be considered for this role. There is an expectation that employees will attend monthly meetings at our Dorset office in Cranborne if practical, and for this role regular international travel to global project sites will be required.

About Us

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.

Last year, WVS treated over 103,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,042 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries. Over 1.2 m dogs were vaccinated against rabies last year as part of our Mission Rabies campaign.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

•  Support with the development of our education and behaviour change campaigns in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
• Develop robust monitoring and data collection systems and build capacity in the team to adhere to these mechanisms.
• Work with country teams to research the effectiveness of pedagogical approaches in terms of impact and behaviour change across various contexts and for different age groups.  
• Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice and implementation assistance to Mission Rabies and WVS projects around the world.
• Write strong project reports and proposals.
• Undertake international field visits in support of this work.

 Essential Skills & Experience

• 7+ years in project management in an education, animal welfare, public health, humanitarian and/or international development capacity.

What will my main duties be?

Programme Management

• To oversee the IntoUniversity Boarding School Bursary Programme including recruitment of potential students and ongoing support of current boarders.
• To prepare the students and their families for Royal SpringBoard and school assessments as well as reparing for boarding school life. 
• To plan and/or attend boarding school taster and pastoral visits across the UK. 
• To create a calendar of out-of-boarding events and support for students and families to connect to their local centre, including centre visits and community hubs. 
• Work with the Safeguarding Team to promote the wellbeing of students and respond to safeguarding concerns (additional training will be provided for this aspect of the role). 
• Encourage post-18 alumni to engage with the Royal SpringBoard alumni programmes and the IntoUniversity Student Associate Network
• Ensure Salesforce database records and monitoring requirements are kept up to date. 

Stakeholder Management

• Manage the relationship with Royal Springboard, including reporting on KPIs and maintaining communication.
• To build strong relationships and liaise with the host boarding schools and the key staff members such as Houseparents.
• To provide support to parents/carers as needed and manage any issues that may arise sensitively, mediating between the boarding schools, parents/carers and students as necessary.

ROLE PURPOSE:

This dynamic role presents a unique opportunity to build upon the procurement progress achieved so far and to help establish robust procurement foundations across the organisation, following the implementation of a new ERP system. Some key projects for this role over the next 12 months will be:

• Contribute to the development, testing, training, and successful deployment of the new ERP Procurement App.
• Lead the ongoing implementation of the Procurement Policy, collaborating with the Internal Auditor to strengthen compliance across the Supply Chain Team and the wider organisation.
• Support the Indirect Spend strategy and lead the development of a new five-year strategic plan to guide future category management.
• Design, implement, and monitor Procurement KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Ensure GDPR compliance is maintained across all Supply Chain activities and processes.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the Procurement Team, champion strategic procurement initiatives, and ensure compliance with organisational policies. The Procurement Manager is responsible for driving intelligent procurement decisions, delivering the procurement strategy, and upholding the highest standards of ethical and sustainable purchasing. This role is focused on achieving optimal value for money across all indirect spend activities. As the leader of the Procurement Team, the Procurement Manager also provides mentoring and support to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

The successful Procurement Manager will be strategic, decisive and collaborative with an eye for opportunity and influence. You will need to be outcome-focused, have previous experience gained in creating framework agreement / supplier lists, leading end-to-end procurement processes, previous leadership experience and competent with driving value. A strong understanding on how to constructively engage with stakeholders is vital in creating long-term foundations with the senior leadership and suppliers. Some travel within the UK may be required.

DAY TO DAY THIS ROLE WILL LOOK LIKE:

About the role

The Lab is now working with Demos, a leading cross-party think tank and the Lloyds Bank Foundation on a collaborative project to celebrate community-led change across the country. The project will seek: (1) to connect an array of brilliant organisations creating new forms of public services and (2) write a narrative that puts this community-led innovation at the centre of broader efforts at rethinking how the state delivers for its citizens. The project will work with leaders across civil society, academia and the highest levels of politics to demonstrate the potential for community-led change to generate national renewal.

We are seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of Project Network Coordinator. They will report to the Director of the UCL Policy Lab and work closely with the team. The post is fixed term for the duration of nine months either full or part time with the possibility to be extended.

About you

The UCL Policy Lab wishes to appoint a Project Network Coordinator to help draw together representatives of a vast array of community-based organisations currently innovating in public service reform. The Coordinator will support the project team to develop a core coalition to drive forward the work. The individual will work closely with both the UCL Policy Lab team, Demos and other project partners in the oversight and delivery of events that bring these organisations together so that they can share their experiences and expertise. The individual will also help oversee and coordinate the programme of high-level private workshops exploring the policy implications of these organisations' activities, providing extensive service support to attendees as well as supporting the project to build up a wide network of key stakeholders.

The individual will be crucial to designing and delivering a high-quality experience for the participants as well as ensuring that the dialogue builds overtime and its richness is fully captured and shared with senior stakeholders. The individual will also run the sessions and assist the Lab with both research and administrative support in the run up to the events.

The post holder will report directly to the Lab's Director but also work closely with the Policy Lab team.

Duties and responsibilities

• Work with Lab leadership to recruit members for a new network of community-led public service innovators from across the UK
• Support Lab and Demos leaders engagement with senior stakeholders in the national government and the opposition, as well as the local movement, to help share findings and drive political impact.
• Build relationships with the key individuals in this sector to understand their contributions and concerns and be able to share them with others
• Assist with the delivery of engaging collaborative workshops for members of this network and the project team.
• Conduct interviews with network members and draft policy briefs and memos for circulation to the broader network and the policy team.
• Track and report impact from the network for internal purposes, marketing and various evaluation processes (e.g., writing website content, newsletters and contributing to final reports)
• Work with the UCL Policy Lab team to help deliver operational support for the activities of the project, including: contributing to shared infrastructure and tools; working with the Communications and Engagement manager to deliver wider impact; working with the Team to co-ordinate delivering of world class policy events, including our party conference programme.
• Manage a front of house team at events including PhD students or equivalent on short term placements.

Advocacy Delivery (50%)

Represent Lepra in specific fora and advocacy networks and within the broader leprosy and NTD community in close coordination with the DPA.

Produce quarterly advocacy newsletters

Job Summary

As a key role within the Fundraising Division, the Legacy Marketing Manager will work to achieve the essential long-term legacy income that helps Anthony Nolan to save the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
