Job description

Do you love getting stuff done? Are you a trend setter in using project management tools and techniques to help you do this? Do you enjoy influencing others to work in this way? If you’ve answered yes then CLIC Sargent has the job for you!

Here at CLIC Sargent we like to keep things simple, which is why we call our project management methodology ‘getting stuff done’. We are firm believers that project management is about people and not processes. This is why our newly created Project Management Office has 3 objectives centred around people:

  1. To support staff to get stuff done by answering project management questions and giving individuals the tools, resources and training they need to manage projects as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  2. To lead staff on those big corporate projects, making sure we prioritise the right things at the right times.
  3. To reflect with staff on what’s worked and what hasn’t on our projects so we can celebrate and maximise our successes and learn from our mistakes.

As Project Manager in the Project Management Office you will be a role model for how to get things done and  will support all three of these objectives, managing a variety of projects across all of our departments including Income & Engagement, Corporate Resources, People & Learning and Services. As a ‘people person’ you will build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the charity, creating safe spaces for individuals to share what has worked and what hasn’t and you’ll be capturing these lessons to improve how we do project management in CLIC Sargent.

You should have a proven track record in managing multiple projects simultaneously through their full life cycle, working at speed and with minimal supervision. You will also have experience of developing and measuring against project success criteria and outcomes to ensure everything we do is of value. Ability to negotiate and influence project sponsors and project team members will come naturally and you’ll do this confidently in order to find solutions to risks and issues blocking projects completing successfully. And finally you’ll do this as a team player in the Project Management Office.

Interview Date: 20 February 2020 in Bristol (potential screening phone calls on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 February)
