Mind in Croydon is seeking to recruit a full time Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)  to join our small, dedicated team of Independent Mental Health Advocates working to provide advocacy services to adults subjected to detention under the Mental Health Act in the London Borough of Croydon to ensure they understand, express and exercise their rights, and to enable them to access essential services. The advocacy team also provides Community Mental Health Advocacy for people who are informal patients in psychiatric hospital or living in the community and provides weekly advocacy service at two InMind Healthcare Group hospitals in Croydon.

This role is suitable for a fully qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) with a proven ability to support people under the Mental Health Act. We are not considering trainee positions at this time.

You will play an active part in shaping and delivering corporate fundraising campaigns and stewardship activities, with a good level of ownership balanced by the support of an experienced income generation team. 

As Major Donors and Partnerships Coordinator, you will contribute significantly to diversifying and sustaining CLAPA’s income. With an ambitious Income Generation Strategy in place, this is a timely opportunity to help strengthen CLAPA’s profile in corporate fundraising and partnerships. Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with donors and partners will be a core part of your role.

About this job

In this role, you'll oversee the delivery of our marketing strategy and insight-led approach to product development for our community and events fundraising team. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to reach, engage, and build meaningful long-term relationships with our supporters. A key part of your role will be to lead our team of supporter-facing Fundraising Executives and ensure they provide consistent and exceptional supporter stewardship to our incredible fundraisers.

Background Information and Purpose of Post

The Philanthropy Specialist at Humanity & Inclusion UK is a new senior fundraising position with responsibility for planning, identifying, cultivating, and managing major donor relationships to secure significant funding, in line with the new global Major Giving Strategy 2026 - 2030.

The purpose of the post is to:

· Develop and deliver HI UK’s strategy for high-net-worth individuals.

· Lead on the new Capital Campaign, 2026-2030, for HI UK.

· Work closely with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and family foundations to develop high-value philanthropic partnerships and ensure sustained, long-term support.

· Secure five- and six-figure major gifts from a diverse and sustainable base of major donors.

· Develop your own prospect pipeline and provide excellent cultivation of your prospects to produce committed, long-term donors.

· Manage existing partnerships and donors to a high standard.

· Report to and collaborate with the Global Specialist in Major Giving (based in the UK) on the delivery and implementation of your own ambitious philanthropy strategy for HI UK, in line with UK and Federation priorities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships

You will have responsibility for developing a new strategy for high-net-worth individual support and you will lead the delivery of this strategy to secure high-value philanthropic partnerships under the responsibility of the Global Specialist in Major Giving.

Capital Campaign

Our new Capital Campaign will be an invaluable tool for you in developing funding from high-net-worth individuals in the UK. You will lead on its launch and recruit a Campaign Committee, stewarding them to deliver results.

Relationship Management

You will lead on the development and stewardship of long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and family foundations.

Income Growth

You will drive the growth of an existing pipeline of high-net-worth individuals and develop this pipeline with new supporters from our individual giving stream and philanthropists who are new to HI, to secure significant gifts.

Collaboration

You will work closely with HI's Global Specialist in Major Giving, HI UK Trustees, our Federal Major Giving team, and international colleagues, to develop compelling proposals and provide timely impact reporting.

Stewardship

You will ensure exceptional donor stewardship and provide a high-quality experience for supporters at every stage of engagement.

Cultivation events

You will initiate and run high quality cultivation events for your donors and prospects, to form part of their stewardship journey.

Data Management

You will accurately manage donor records, communications, and reporting through our CRM.

Other duties

· Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues, the Federal fundraising and communication teams, and Major Giving counterparts in other HI national associations in Europe and North America.

· Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and high standards.

You will support in the development of the long term growth plan, work in inter disciplinary teams on campaign development and delivery supporting your team in this new way of working and be responsible for executing the plan so that it drives growth in acquisition, retention, and lifetime value of supporters. 

You will play a key role in the Fundraising & Marketing Leadership Team, contributing to the development of the charity's overarching fundraising & marketing strategic plan and embedding a culture that strives for excellence, focuses on continual improvement, and delivers in collaboration with others. 

This is a role for a experience professional who can translate insight into action, lead complex programmes with agility, and inspire teams to deliver outstanding results. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership: Support the development of a Fundraising & Marketing growth plan and deliver a multi-year Individual Giving programme that supports sustainable income growth and deepens supporter engagement. 

• Programme Oversight: Lead the planning, delivery, and optimisation of multi-channel fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are data-driven, audience-centric, and aligned with Barnardo's brand values. 

• Financial Stewardship: Manage a multi-million-pound income and expenditure budget, with responsibility for forecasting, contingency planning, and risk mitigation. 

• Cross-Organisational Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Digital, Brand & Marketing, Supporter Care, Services and Compliance, Supporter Data & Insight, Communications and Children's Services to deliver integrated campaigns and a seamless supporter experience. 

• Insight led continual improvement: Embed a culture of test-and-learn, using market intelligence, segmentation, and performance data to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement. 

• Leadership & People Development: Lead and develop a large team of direct and indirect reports, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth.

You are a senior fundraising professional with: 

• A proven track record in strategic planning and delivery within a large, complex organisation. 

• Extensive experience in direct marketing and individual giving, with demonstrable success in income growth and supporter engagement.
