We are looking for a Head of Supporter Led Fundraising to join the senior fundraising leadership team at Scope.

This is a brand new role for Scope and will be responsible for developing and executing the vision and strategy for supporter-led fundraising, building and leading a new team to deliver income growth.

Your team will be engaging with all individuals who choose to fundraise on Scope’s behalf through community fundraising and challenge events.

Additionally, safeguarding and increasing legacy income through community events and robust stewardship will be an essential aspect of this role.

The role

As the Head of Supporter Led Fundraising, you will set the vision and strategy for supporter led fundraising at Scope:

· Operationalise the strategy delivering flexible and responsive supporter led fundraising activity for the long-term.

· Develop and lead a high-performing and collaborative supporter led fundraising team, coaching and motivating where needed.

· Focus on increasing net income while deepening public knowledge and engagement, and why disability equality is so important.

· Oversee the development and delivery of a portfolio of co-produced fully accessible and inclusive supporter led fundraising products.

· Build effective and positive working relationships with peers and colleagues across the charity including the Executive team and Board.

· Lead by example modelling Scope’s values and behaviours, focusing strongly on accessibility and inclusion.

· Responsibility for focusing on legal and regulatory compliance including hiring to new functions and model best practice in safeguarding and health and safety.

About you

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced fundraising leader, with experience of meeting and exceeding income targets.

You will:

· Proven track record with at least 5 years' experience in a relevant fundraising leadership role with demonstrable success in achieving targets.

· Experience in developing and leading teams in implementing fundraising strategies and growing income

· Extensive experience in leading teams and managing cross-departmental projects.

· Experience of developing and reporting against KPIs to senior leadership teams and trustees.

· Extensive income and expenditure budget management and reporting.

· Knowledge and understanding of the UK funding landscape and current fundraising compliance and best practice.

· Experience in digital fundraising and supporter engagement.

· Ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders.

· Experience in working with external agencies and internal creative teams.

Diet, microplastics, climate change, e-cigarettes, Alzheimer’s....if it's in the news and it’s controversial, the SMC will be working hard to pump out accurate, evidence-based science into the 24 hour news media.

But this frenetic media operation must have rock-solid operations support behind it.  It needs a highly competent, confident, organised and efficient individual who supports the SMC’s mission but loves running the operations behind the scenes.  The successful candidate will be a calm, self-sufficient problem solver who makes the charity run smoothly and who takes satisfaction from ensuring that the team of energetic, dynamic press officers can make a difference to science in the media every day.

The Head of Operations and Governance is a key member of senior staff.  You will be either a practised operations specialist looking for a new challenge or someone with relevant experience looking to step up to their first role leading operations.  In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for financial management, fundraising admin, preparation of annual accounts and bookkeeping
• Support the CEO in fundraising initiatives and project admin
• Provide the operational underpinning for the Centre ensuring the smooth running of IT, events, contracts and all office systems
• Act as secretariat to the Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee, Remuneration Committee and Audit and Risk Committee
• Guide the governance of the charity and complete statutory reporting. 

You must be highly organised and have a clear head for numbers and systems.  Often working under your own steam and multitasking to tight deadlines, you will need to be efficient and committed to the unique needs of this role without being drawn into the science and media activities of the Centre. 

Experience of the charity sector, finance and/or governance is an advantage.

Reporting into the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the Individual Giving team, responsible for the delivery of core elements of the Supporter Acquisition programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead in the development and delivery of Supporter Acquisition campaigns/activity/products across a range of media, with a specific focus on digital channels, in line with strategy, planned budgets and targets, ensuring campaign deadlines are met.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced videographer and photographer, with strong technical skills, to join our small but ambitious creative team. You’ll have a good understanding of how to capture stories and share voices in a creative and powerful way, while being able to take projects from concept to completion.

You’ll be motivated, driven and passionate about capturing the voices of children and young people with cancer and the work that we do at Young Lives vs Cancer. No two days will look the same, from photographing a fundraising event to capturing an interview with a family at one of our Homes from Home. We’re looking for someone who can make the most of any opportunity to gather content which could be used across social media, our website, in presentations and pitches or in printed materials.

The role-holder will also take responsibility for keeping our content library up to date and gathering and recording consent as they go. We need someone who is highly organised and able to manage their own time and diary – this is a varied and busy role which will work with many teams across the organisation.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Working with the Brand and Creative Manager on incoming briefs from across the organisation and deliver creative solutions which fulfil objectives and consider audience
• Storyboarding and co-ordinating shoots while always prioritising the voices of children and young people with cancer and their families 
• Creating a wide range of high-quality audio and visual content that meets the needs of the organisation and harnesses the power of voice and storytelling 
• Supporting the social media team with regular post-production work on user-generated content for TikTok and Instagram (for example, editing, adding captions etc.) 
• Adhering to our brand guidelines and support the Brand and Creative Manager in continuing to evolve and apply our visual identity and tone of voice work to photography and videography projects

This new role is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of Family Fund’s community and volunteer fundraising, enabling more families raising a disabled or seriously ill child to access the help they need.

As a key member of the fundraising team, you will be instrumental in expanding our reach within communities, inspiring individuals, groups, and local businesses to get involved and raise vital funds.

The role

As our Community and Volunteering Fundraiser, you’ll take the lead on growing our community fundraising income within a defined region. Through proactive outreach, you will build relationships with supporters, volunteers, and local organisations empowering them to fundraise on our behalf.

You’ll deliver a mix of supporter recruitment, stewardship and event coordination. From championing local partnerships and speaking at community events, to helping individuals turn their ideas into successful fundraisers, you will be the local contact for Family Fund in your region.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, solution focused finance professional to join our central team as Finance Administrator. Used to taking day to day transaction processing in your stride, you’ll use your experience to be part of ensuring that we have the business information needed for decision making across the charity.

Starlight is a small team with a lot to deliver so a can-do attitude is critical; we all roll our sleeves up and do what’s needed to make things happen for our children, families and healthcare professionals. You’ll have a real desire for effective working, enjoy finding ways to improve the efficiency of our financial systems and processes and be experienced in working across an organisation to be a true partner to our passionate, supportive and dedicated Starlight team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be part of our small but highly effective Finance team. Underpinning the delivery of services to our children, families and health professionals and the fundraising which makes that possible, the team is dedicated to great governance - both decision making and compliance – bringing business thinking to all that we do, strong financial management and much more. Evidence-based decision-making is at the heart of all we do which requires reliable and timely information; our finance team is responsible for ensuring we always have the strong and relevant financial information as we work to deliver our realistically ambitious three-year plan.

As our Finance Administrator, you’ll have the chance to have a real impact on the charity’s ability to raise funds and deliver services. This role will enable the finance team to evolve in response to the changing needs of the organisation and to help lead on the delivery of our strategic aims. As Finance Administrator you’ll take care of the transactional work, be committed to collaborating across the organisation, and be a key part of shaping the work of the finance team.

The Role

The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This is a role that requires strategic thinking, relationship and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet income targets.

This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.

The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.

In this position you will scope fundraising opportunities from grant and trusts, and be adept at assessing our viability so that applications we submit have a higher rate of success than average.

As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, you will create new income streams which The Switch has not considered before, for example legacy funding, individual giving, corporate match funding. This will improve our financial stability.

In addition to income generation, this role will lead the Partnerships team and manage two to three staff as follows :

1. Our Corporate Partnerships and Volunteer Manager - oversees all volunteer logistics, including maintaining volunteer records and distributing relevant briefing materials to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their role. Some time dedicated to fundraising too.

2. Our Communication Coordinator – leads on our regular comms including our digital newsletter, social media pages, and bespoke comms for projects or funders.

3. Coordinator TBC.

Details

· The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising leads the Partnerships Team and reports to the CEO.

· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays.

· Working from home (WFH) is typically 2 days a week, with Wednesdays mandatory in the office.

Job Purpose

The finance team is a core part of our Operations Directorate, and although we’re a small team we have a huge impact on the effectiveness of our organisation. The team provides support and guidance to all staff members on how to process invoices, expenses, and generally manage their budgets effectively. The main purpose of the Finance Officer role is to provide key support to the finance team with our finance processes, supporting staff members across the organisation, helping with any queries on a day-to-day basis, as well as supporting our members and suppliers with queries. The Finance Officer ensures all financial transactions are processed in accordance with BSR’s procedures and processes and in line with data protection regulations. 

You don’t need to have worked in the charity sector previously. Continual professional development is vital for us as a team, and so we’re happy to support you if you’re interested in completing a professional finance qualification.

Main Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger 

• Receive all supplier invoices (including member expenses), checking correct finance codes with relevant nominal, department, project, VAT and fund codes are on all invoices, and that the necessary authorisation is present 
• Scan and file all finance related documents (e.g. bank statements)  
• Set up fortnightly supplier payment runs for review by the Finance Manager 

 Sales Ledger 

• Work with budget holders and project leads to produce sales invoices  
• Liaise with budget holders to ensure correct coding of all invoices (nominal, department, project, VAT, and fund codes) 
• Credit Control – dealing with customer queries and chasing for payments fortnightly 

Other Finance Responsibilities 

• Manage monthly credit card process including posting in Dext and reconciliation in Xero  
• Assist the Finance Manager with preparing for year end and audit fieldwork 
• Reconcile purchase ledger payments with the bank transactions 
• Run new starter finance inductions for budget holders and set up new staff on finance systems 
• Maintain process documents for all finance systems 
• Suggest and support relevant finance system and process improvements where identified 
• Be the first point of contact for finance systems and internal system integrations 

Payroll 

• Ensure new starters are processed by HR 
• Process leavers  
• Exported payroll reports and ensuring that they are filed in the correct place 
• Run the monthly payroll with Finance Manager 
• Submission of EPS and FPS to HMRC 

Committee Management 

•  Minute-taking for Finance & Risk Committee meetings 
• Administrative support relating to committee management
