Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development and implementation of the trusts and grants team strategy.
• Generating funding toward the team income target of £4.2m with an approximate contribution of £200,000 annually through management of existing trust relationships and the trusts mailing. 
• Managing your own portfolio of 20+ existing funders, providing them with excellent stewardship.
• Developing effective relationships with trusts via telephone, email, Zoom and face to face contact – at meetings and events.
• Maintaining relationships with new and existing funders and then submitting excellent quality funding reports/applications. 
• Maximising on charitable trust relationships to secure the maximum amount of funding. 
• Using your creativity  and new ideas to lead on the growth of the income of the trusts mailing
• Demonstrating perseverance and determination in order to develop new funding relationships. 

Skills

• Passion to support children and young people, preventing mental health issues from developing 
• Ideally one year or more experience in Trusts fundraising, although this does not need to be exclusively working on Charitable Trusts’
• A positive ‘can-do’ approach and a flexible team player who will contribute to the overall success of the team
• A proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload in a self-directed environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to communicate and influence others verbally
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce work to a high professional standard
• Demonstrable experience of working to and achieving deadlines, effectively planning out your time
• Ideally experience in personally securing fundraising income
• The ability to produce project budgets and the attention to detail, checking budgets for accuracy
• Experience using Microsoft Office and database system

Elders Voice is a local charity serving older people in Brent. We are recruiting a CEO to lead our talented and experienced staff team through a period of change to ensure our financial security.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

You will have a knack for distilling information into actionable insight and accessible external communications – your way with words and understanding of audience demographics will ensure the clarity and impact of your messaging. 

Whilst your research background will give you the essential insight and expertise to contribute widely, this role is where your academic prowess comes to life in real-life deliverables. You will be called upon to support the design and management of research and science communication grants and projects,  to coordinate key meetings and workshops and to support Finance in how we manage cashflow and reporting. 

Throughout you will keep abreast of developments within the fields of air pollution, super pollutants and climate mitigation especially related to science and research, policy development, innovation, technology and impact analyses and portfolio relevant developments. You will never stop learning and developing your deep understanding of this subject and will inevitably become an expert. 

Your experience: 

Beyond your essential research experience in atmospheric and climate science, in particular experience working on black carbon or other super pollutants you will 

• Be able to demonstrate that you think and act strategically 

• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to efficiently explain and discuss complex topics in layman’s terms.

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). About the role

As our Senior Finance & Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of our organisation’s success. Working closely with the Director, Finance and Operations, you will help to manage financial processes, streamline operations, and ensure both our UK and EU teams are properly resourced to drive our mission forward. You will interact daily with a broad range of stakeholders in the UK and the EU including senior level staff, external consultants and suppliers in the while also working closely with Finance, HR & IT colleagues in the US.

Key responsibilities

Financial Management (30%)

• Support on day-to-day financial activities including financial reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer with at least two years of relevant experience, who will be able to contribute to our new VCS Capacity Building contract.

Having a good level of experience in producing and designing communications content, excellent copy writing skills with the ability to create clear and compelling content, excellent attention to detail and a strong track record in developing communications which stand out and increase both engagement and awareness.

Someone who enjoys working with the local community and able to use their communication and engagement skills to ensure we are reaching all parts of the VCS community within the Borough of Haringey. Having knowledge of the VCS within Haringey would be an advantage, but not essential.

You’ll have strong digital skills, including Adobe Creative Cloud (or at least InDesign), website CMS, social media and Microsoft O365, with an interest in learning and developing your skills on the job.

The role

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The contract, which runs from May 2024 to April 2027 can be extended for a further four years at the discretion of the Client. The Contract includes the administration and management of the Volunteer Centre and the development and promotion of a Navigation Network (NavNet) knowledge sharing platform, META Workplace.

The Community Alliance team will be located across different sectors of the Borough employed by either MIND in Haringey or Public Voice who make up the consortium partners. Day-to-day management of the Community Alliance service is the responsibility of the Haringey Community Alliance Manager.

We are seeking a Finance Officer with a keen eye for detail, and an aptitude for learning new skills, to take on purchase ledger and payroll administration duties in our Finance Department.   You will have either begun on the path of attaining a financial qualification or had some experience in a similar role.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all purchases, payments and returns, including supplier invoices, staff payments (salaries, expenses and advances), project and contractor payments and credit card transactions.  Responsible for project reporting against budget.

• Ownership of the purchase ledger system, administering the entire process of invoice receiving, checking, coding, distributing for approval, posting to the accounts software (currently Sage), setting up domestic and international payments for authorisation, and electronic filing of documents.
• Administering all credit card returns including distribution of statements to colleagues, checking and coding returns, collating documents, submitting for line-manager approval, posting to Sage and following up on outstanding items.

• Recording project expenditure against budget and drafting project financial returns to meet funder deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the UK-wide Volunteering Team, where you will play a critical role to lead on delivering strategic priority projects. 

As the Volunteering Strategic Project Manager you will line manage the England Volunteering Development Officers, lead on the strategic oversight for volunteering across England, and work collaboratively across the team to ensure volunteering is impact-led, embeds equity, diversity, and inclusion, and meets the needs of the organisation as well as the local community.

Contributing to the five-year volunteering strategy, you will ensure continued growth and impact across our successful IT and Digital transformations.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

We’re looking for a proactive professional to support our mission to transform loneliness into connection among isolated people and under-served groups in Tower Hamlets.

In this hybrid role, you’ll have the chance to shape, own and drive forward Globe Community Project’s communications strategy, taking a proactive approach to campaigns and initiatives, social media and supporter engagement, and meeting targets to inform, grow and reward our supporter base.

You’ll be joining the charity at a time of growth, and there’s scope for you to make a huge impact on our ability to reach and connect even more isolated people. As a loneliness charity, our communications are key.

You’ll either be in part-time work and looking for more hours, or a freelancer with space to take this on. You could work your hours across one or more days; we don’t mind as long as you can drive results, be flexible and responsive where needed.

Campaigns and initiatives
Producing compelling and impactful communications.

• Writing copy.

The Project Coordinator (Awards) will work closely with the hiring manager ensuring the organisation’s events run smoothly. Role Context

ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable.  We need someone reliable who enjoys and has a proven track record of leading and delivering on operational projects for a business or charity while working with senior stakeholders. They should be a highly organised self-starter who is able to work autonomously and lead on projects as well as a great team player.

The role is varied and has a significant financial element, so strong numerical skills and good written communication skills are both important as well as a flexible, responsible approach. Ideally they will also have experience of, and good knowledge of, the charity sector in the UK.

This role is posted as a one year contract as the needs of the business are changing as the organisation develops. At the end of the year the needs of ALIMA will be reviewed and there may be scope to further shape the role, depending on the needs of the business and funding available at the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Driving and implementing a varied range of projects that support the smooth set-up of the UK charity, in collaboration with the UK Head of Development 
• Virtual Office Management, including organising cloud based filing systems, managing resources including IT, coordinating information collection 

 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Head of Development & Chair to create and develop new financial management systems for the charity
• Ongoing management of the financial systems of the charity including bookkeeping, invoice management and basic reporting
• Working with colleagues to produce financial reports for the Board, donors and others on request

EVENT & PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATION 

• Coordination of small events
• Organising and coordinating staff and trustee visits to the UK and overseas 

SUPPORTING SENIOR STAKEHOLDERS 

• Organise UK board meetings including booking venues, finalising and circulating papers, minute taking
• Copywriting

PERSON SPECIFICATION

REQUIRED 

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

• Experience working for a UK-based charity in an administrative, executive support, finance, fundraising or project management role 
• Strong project management skills: a track record of successfully driving small to medium-sized projects
• Strong numerical skills, including experience reporting on or managing budgets, producing management accounts or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills 
• Excellent organisational skills: Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload to meet deadlines
