About the role

The Centre for Ageing Better is looking for a talented Deputy Director to lead on work, retirement and transitions. Overseeing a programme of research, policy development, influencing activity and a growing employer network you will be leading our work to ensure equitable access to decent work for those aged 50+.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the UK labour market policy and the implications and opportunities for those aged 50+. You will be skilled at developing strategy and leading a multi-disciplinary team to translate it into an impactful programme of work. You will be comfortable working externally to build relationships and make the case for change to policy makers, potential funders and in the media, and you will bring research expertise and experience of developing and delivering research projects using a variety of methods.

Purpose of the role:

The Junior Salesforce Administrator role supports the effective use and ongoing development of the Churchill Fellowship’s Salesforce CRM platform and related applications. Working closely with the Salesforce Team and other internal teams, you will ensure our data remains accurate and accessible, help to improve business processes, and provides user support and training across the organisation. You will play a key part in ensuring Salesforce functions as the single source of truth for organisational data. 

Key responsibilities:

Salesforce Administration and Support:

• Support day-to-day Salesforce user needs, including responding to support tickets and troubleshooting.
• Maintain data quality through duplicate management, validation rules, and standardised field formatting.
• Assist with regular data cleaning activities and updates to system records. 
• Help to prepare technical documentation and user guidance materials. 
• Contribute to routine platform maintenance, upgrades, and third-party app integrations (e.g., FormAssembly, Conga). 
• Support data reporting and dashboards to ensure teams can access reliable insights. 
• Collaborate on developing and refining automated processes using Flows and other Salesforce tools.

Grant & Event Technical Support:

• Assist with the technical setup of grant-related processes in Salesforce, including automations and applicant communications. 
• Support the Events and Development teams with Salesforce Campaign setup, RSVP forms, and invitation tracking. 
• Help ensure integrations and automations run smoothly before, during, and after events. 
• Monitor engagement and follow-up activities through reports and dashboards.

• Provide training and onboarding support to help new and existing staff understand and use Salesforce effectively.

Recruitment Process

Finance Manager

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for a full time Finance and Resources Manager to join our team.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

To work with the Board, CEO and Deputy CEO to ensure efficient and effective financial management, including setting and monitoring budgets, producing financial reports, and overseeing day to day financial management, including payroll and bookkeeping via Quickbooks, and providing advice and guidance, to inform the development and delivery of AAFDA’s strategy and business plan.

To work with the CEO and Deputy CEO to ensure that AAFDA meets its funder obligations, including reporting on time, gathering data from across the team and compiling reports for CEO/Deputy CEO sign off.

To work with Trustees and staff to ensure AAFDA fulfils its legal and regulatory requirements, including; coordinating the implementation of health and safety, GDPR and other policies and procedures; leading on human resources support; and overseeing office management and IT. Note that specialist HR advice and support and IT are provided to AAFDA by external contractors.

The role provides and manages the HR, administration and finance activities of the Charity and sits within the Senior Leadership Team.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

· Ensuring the day-to-day financial and accounting operations (Quickbooks) are delivered and maintained.

· Administering and managing Payroll, expenses, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, managing the bank including reconciliations and other financial management.

· Managing AAFDA’s budget planning, monitoring and review and year-end accounts processes.

· Meeting AAFDA’s funder reporting deadlines, including oversight of the compilation of information for the funder and the provision of financial reports.

· Supporting the development of AAFDA’s strategy and business plan including providing financial projections and conducting risk analysis as and when required.

· Ensuring effective day-to-day management of book-keeping and financial administration.

· Ensuring financial, payroll and data protection policies and procedures comply with relevant legislation/regulations, reflect best practice and are applied throughout AAFDA, reporting non-compliance to the CEO and/or Deputy CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance:

· In conjunction with the Leadership team, undertake regular finance operational duties including;

- Preparation and setting of a three-year outline budget to accompany AAFDA’s three-year strategy.

- Preparation and setting of the annual budget.

- quarterly reviews – including cashflow and operational re-forecasts.

- Monthly management accounts and variance analysis.

· Prepare quarterly finance reports for the Board, including variance analysis, re-forecasts and ad-hoc reports, as necessary.

· Assist the third-party accountant with the preparation of year-end accounts.

· Manage and operate the internal finance and accounting systems and databases.

· Oversee delivery of payroll, through the use of third-party providers software and using the staff time management recording system.

· Manage all staff expense systems and ensure compliance with relevant AAFDA policies.

· Manage and operate a purchasing system and ensure appropriate levels of pre-expenditure financial authorisation are in place and followed and that suppliers are paid on a timely basis.

· Ensure that all receivables are billed and collected on a timely basis.

· Be the main contact with and management of, the day-to-day operations of the Charity’s banking arrangements, seeking secondary authorisations where required.

· Ensure compliance with HMRC, including monitoring VAT threshold, tax and gift aid, and undertake necessary returns where necessary.

· Commission specialist VAT and other financial advice as required and in conjunction with the Board and CEO/DCEO.

· Support and advise the Trustees, CEO, Deputy CEO and other Leadership Team colleagues with financial forecasting/planning, and allocation and funding of staff and other resources.

· Support Fundraising staff with preparing and managing grant applications and project budgets with the aim of ensuring a minimum of full-cost recovery and provide financial implementation data to enable the Charity to comply with any grant reporting obligations, including by creating and maintaining records of costs by grant received.

Effective Organisational Administration

· Oversee policy and procedure development and implementation, including safeguarding, data protection, Health and Safety, complaints, etc, in conjunction with other Leadership Team members.

· Conduct horizon scanning and recommend opportunities to revise policies and procedures to ensure legal/regulatory compliance and/or in line with best practice.

· Review, improve and ensure implementation of project management processes.

· Ensure appropriate equipment and infrastructure resources are in place for staff, volunteers and Trustees.

· Ensure insurance is in place for all activity and potential organisational risks.

· Continually improve and manage operational costs and budget.

· Collaborate with colleagues to ensure optimal use of the AAFDA customer relationship, case management, time recording, expense management and other operational systems.

We are looking for a new Office Manager to organise and coordinate administration duties and office procedures in the charity. Your role is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety. You will be experienced with a variety of office software (such as email tools, spreadsheets and databases) and be able to accurately handle administrative duties.

This is a 12-month outreach pilot engaging and safeguarding young people in and around Waterloo Station, helping identify and safeguard young people under 18 years at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, county lines, missing from home, homelessness or family breakdown. This role does involve working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

You will be working to identify and  safeguard young people alongside trained volunteers and by engaging with key partners such as Southwestern Railway (SWR) Met Police, Southbank Staff, Train Operators, Youth Service and other local stakeholders.

You’ll play a key role in the development of our UK Programme and part of a dynamic team delivering Railway Children’s programme in the UK.

What we’re looking for

You will have experience of successfully engaging and supporting young people and families as well as experience of working in an outreach or similar setting, in a creative and engaging way with young people with a range of needs and vulnerabilities.

Alongside this you will be able to work effectively with partners to safeguard young people, who can work with 3rd sector groups and the local community.

You will have completed relevant training, experience in safeguarding and in the issues relevant to vulnerable young and families. Therefore, you will be an experienced practitioner with an excellent understanding of safeguarding processes and procedures, who is able to work creatively, independently and within professional boundaries.

Reporting into the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the Individual Giving team. You will be responsible for the delivery of core elements of the Supporter Acquisition programme, developing engaging communications / products and activity across multiple channels, such as paid search and social, email, telemarketing and offline channels. •  Manage the briefing and liaising with the Data team to deliver complex and accurate data selections and reporting requirements.
•  Deliver draft budget and reforecasting figures as part of the planning and budgeting process, providing information required, and working closely with the Individual Giving Manager – Supporter Acquisition, to review and reforecast activities for Supporter Acquisition.

Person Specification: 

•  Experience of applying the principles and techniques of Individual Giving / Direct Marketing within a multi-channel, multi-discipline environment, especially through supporter acquisition channels.
•  Good project-management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, creative development, and supplier relationships for fundraising direct marketing campaigns.
•  Knowledge of best practice digital fundraising, with particular experience of running Search, Social and online campaigns to increase supporters and gather data for future marketing opportunities.
•  Experience of managing campaign budgets, reforecast of activity, monitoring, reconciling and reporting on results in line with KPIs.
•  Experience of managing external relationships, for example with suppliers, agencies, including effective negotiation re costs and contractual obligations.
