The Education and Skills Development Group (ESDEG) was established by local refugee leaders and social care professionals who identified critical gaps in services for people from refugee and marginalised communities. Through extensive community consultations across local estates, community centres, and schools, we have been able to provide responsive and preventative services for children, young people, families, older people, and others from socially excluded communities. We engage in and [lead] various policy networks. We have proven track record in working with schools, children and families at local level. We have been trusted by many funders to deliver projects that benefit local marginalised communities. We provide educational and community projects including supplementary schools, mentoring, ESOL classes, short breaks for children who special educational and disability (SEND), project to help local elders escape isolation and engage into physical and social activities, youth work, information and advice and support for families who have children with Send.

ESDEG is currently seeking individuals who are eager to make a meaningful contribution by volunteering their skills, experience, ideas, and passion to the organisation’s development and future direction.

· A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

· Skills in finance, governance, fundraising, communication and networking is desirable.

· Our current board lacks young members so we would like young trustees to apply and join us.

Our board meets quarterly unless there are specific issues that warrants the board to be called into a meeting, the minimum requirement is 4 meetings a year which usually takes place in the evening. If trustees can offer more time and support particular projects will be appreciated.

Scope of Volunteer Main Role and Duties (not exhaustive):

Mentoring Arm:

1. Work through a ‘Discharge List’ systematically, cross referencing with the Operations Manager, so as not to duplicate any work or contact with the young people (primarily of Catholic faith).
2. Hand out and (where needed) help complete ‘Questionnaires’ given to young people from the ‘Discharge List’, in order to ascertain what type of job or education sector the young person would be interested in going into. Forms to be given to the Operations Manager afterwards.
3. Follow up with a one-to-one session – register the young person to the FCCT programme and completing relevant paperwork, which will include our ‘Client Profile Form’ and ‘Consent Form’.
4. Update a shared ‘Client Spreadsheet’ which will be used to capture data information, as to the young people that FCCT are engaging with.
5. If required, identify relevant Churches etc for the young people to attend post release and contact said religious establishments, to understand their referral criteria and then make relevant referrals, where required.
6. Collect testimonials from the young people in relation to the support FCCT have offered them.
7. Mentoring of young people 
8. Make or facilitate family contacts for resettlement purposes, in relation to the young people.

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following attributes:

Our Summer Camps
Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th August, & Thursday 28th – Sunday 31st August near Romford, Essex.

We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to join us on one (or both!) of our action-packed residential Summer Camps. On the camp you will be supporting one of our members with a disability to have a holiday they won’t forget.

What you'll do

On the camp you and a fellow co-volunteers will support one of our members with a learning disability or autism for the 4 days. You’ll support and encourage them to take part in lots of exciting activities such as campfires, treasure trails, swimming, nighttime activities, day trips to the seaside and much more. You’ll also help our members with their day-to-day routines and preparing our meals.

Not only is it four days full of fun and games for you and our members, but you will also play a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment and of course, to enjoy a fantastic holiday!

What you need
You do not need experience. Full disability awareness training will be provided before you begin volunteering with us.
The only requirements we ask of you are enthusiasm, energy and to be open-minded.

How much time?
The Camps run on consecutive weekends for four days each. The dates are Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th August, & Thursday 28th – Sunday 31st August. You can volunteer on one or both weekends.

Both camps start and finish in Tottenham, North London.

We can offer you
We can reimburse your travel expenses for your training days. All meals, transportation and accommodation are provided during the camps.
We'll also provide excellent training before the camp, and lots of helpful support throughout.

Project overview:

Mind in Kingston is a local charity that supports people with mental health issues, and campaigns to raise awareness about mental health in Kingston and surrounding areas. We are affiliated to National Mind but operate independently in the Borough of Kingston upon Thames and surrounding areas.

The Information, Advice, Signposting & Referral Service is designed to provide enquirers with empathic advice, information and/or signposting.

Volunteers are extremely valued within our team and a vital part of our service delivery. We encourage and welcome people with lived experience of mental health issues to apply to volunteer with us; this could be personal experience relating to yourself, a family member or a friend; or in a professional capacity working with people with mental health issues.

We care about everyone’s wellbeing and as an integral member of our team, volunteers receive support to ensure they are trained and skilled up in their roles that they may take further in their career aspirations. They receive regular supervision and development opportunities as well as be part of our volunteer awards programme to recognise and celebrate their achievement and contribution to our community. As team members, volunteers have the opportunity to engage with the board of trustees, staff and other volunteers both professionally and socially.

Main purpose of the role:

RollaDome All Skate is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Grants Monitoring and Evaluations Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of grants and projects, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and assessing the impact of our programs. You will work closely with the fundraising and management teams to track the progress of funded initiatives and provide detailed reports to stakeholders. This placement is an excellent opportunity for those interested in nonprofit management, grant management, and impact evaluation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Grants Monitoring: Track and monitor all active grants to ensure compliance with funding requirements, timelines, and project deliverables. 

• Data Collection: Work with program teams to collect both quantitative and qualitative data related to the outcomes and impact of funded projects. Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all grant-related activities. 

• Evaluation and Analysis: Analyze program performance and evaluate the effectiveness of projects funded by grants. Use data to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to maximize impact. 

• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on grant progress, financial expenditure, and program outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that reports meet funder requirements and deadlines. 

• Compliance: Ensure all grant-funded projects comply with the agreed-upon terms and conditions. Flag any potential risks or issues and work with the management team to address them. 

• Liaison with Funders: Serve as the point of contact for funders, providing updates and responding to queries about funded projects. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with the fundraising team, program managers, and finance officers to ensure grant implementation aligns with organizational objectives. 

• Continuous Improvement: Develop and refine monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure they efficiently track the impact of RollaDome’s programs and grants. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights. 

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, able to manage multiple grants and reporting deadlines. 

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively report findings and liaise with stakeholders. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with data management tools. 

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team. 

• Knowledge or keen interest in nonprofit organizations and grant management. 

• Experience with impact reporting, financial tracking, or project management is a plus.
