About YAUK
Youth Advantage UK is a charitable organization that uses a research-led approach to inform policy work and projects that aim to promote and further the human rights of young people aged 11 to 25 across the United Kingdom.
Please note that this is a remote VOLUNTEER role.

Responsibilities

As the Senior HR Officer in our Volunteer Relations team, you will be reporting directly to the HR Manager, as well as oversee the day-to-day management of volunteer relations across our organisation, ensuring the smooth execution of policies and adherence to the Volunteer Handbook. Your role involves being the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing queries, and resolving issues promptly while upholding the organisation’s standards and values.

Duties
1. Exit Management
- Facilitate seamless volunteer offboarding processes, including conducting structured exit interviews to identify areas of improvement.

2. Volunteer Inactivity Management
- Monitor volunteer activity levels and implement inactivity management procedures in collaboration with line managers.
- Maintain updated records to track and report volunteer activity trends.
3. Grievance and Conflict Resolution
- Implement and manage an efficient grievance procedure to handle volunteer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure impartiality and transparency in addressing grievances, collaborating with relevant stakeholders for resolution.
- Collaborate with the L&D team to provide periodic training for volunteers and managers on grievance handling and conflict resolution.
4. Policy Execution and Compliance
- Act as the primary custodian of the Volunteer Handbook, ensuring volunteers are well-informed about organisational policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with organisational guidelines and address any violations in consultation with the HR Manager.
- Partner with the Policy team to update the Volunteer Handbook periodically to reflect regulatory changes and organisational needs.
5. Volunteer Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers, addressing their queries and concerns to foster a positive environment.
- Actively promote inclusivity and diversity in all volunteer-related activities.
6. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure all volunteer-related activities comply with organisational and legal standards.
- Prepare regular reports on the approved Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including challenges and support needed.

About the Role
We’re looking for Volunteer Mentors to join our MAPS Mentoring team. As a mentor, you’ll meet with a young person in Sutton for 1-2 hours weekly for up to a year. Meetings are flexible and can take place in the evenings, weekends, or during the week for our older mentees, or for in-school mentoring.
No prior experience is needed - just a genuine desire to make a difference in a young person’s life.
With a budget provided for food, drinks, activities, and travel, you and your mentee can choose what to do together. Whether it’s casual coffee chats, dog walks, or saving up for more adventurous outings like GoKarting, Thorpe Park trips, or even indoor skydiving, the choice is yours!

Coempowered is a small but rapidly developing non-profit working to empower indiviuals and help build community capacity among for young people, women, and marginalised communities in the UK and internationally through workshops, classes, semiar, projects and research. We are now building the foundations of our organisation and are looking for a dedicated, creative volunteer who is genuinely passionate about our educational and social mission and willing to grow with us as we expand our work and prepare for charity status.Having seen the impact of our work since 2021, we are now laying the foundations for long-term growth and preparing to register as a charity. We are seeking a committed and motivated volunteer who is genuinely passionate about educational and social change and eager to help build our organisation with us.
About the Opportunity
This role is central to Coempowered’s next stage of development. We are positioning ourselves to apply for our first grants, develop partnerships, and build sustainable funding streams. We are looking for someone who can take initiative, collaborate closely with the directors, and contribute strategically to our fundraising capacity. Key Deliverables

We’re looking for admin volunteers to help with our daily operations. We have a variety of ways you can get involved:
- Responding to client requests and enquiries
- Fundrasing and partnership management
- Managing and updating company databases
- Keeping track of partnership enquiries
- Maintaining internal, volunteer, and client records
- Drafting and mailing client correspondence and newsletters
- Organising events, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
- Providing administrative support to other departments or projects as needed
- Performing other duties as agreed in advance
We’ve designed our volunteering programme to be flexible and adaptive to you. All volunteering is 100% remote and you’re supported fully by our team. You control what you do and how many hours per week you want to volunteer. Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check. If your application is successful, we will ask for a donation towards the cost of your enhanced DBS check if it's required for your role. This cost is £20.60.

Training
We provide accredited training with 3 short courses needing to be completed prior starting your volunteer role. After, you’ll have access to over 90 accredited courses should you want to study further.

Role Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to help support the day-to-day running of our charity shop and creative space. This is a varied role that combines retail tasks with hands-on support for artists and exhibitions. Key Responsibilities:
- Sort, price, and label donated clothes and items

Purpose of role
You will play a crucial role in supporting our Senior Hospital Services Partnerships & Outreach Executive with the administration and delivery of our Sunshine in Hospitals programme. From carrying out general administrative duties, liaising with medical professionals across our core hospitals, to supporting with the delivery of our diverse hospital programme, you will help create a positive and uplifting environment for young patients and their families currently undergoing medical treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
· General administrative duties, including sending out of promotional materials to hospitals, monitoring and responding to email enquiries from the hospital services inbox, and taking telephones calls.
- Supporting with the planning and delivery of activities at our Hospital Activity Days, such as arts and crafts, games, and storytelling sessions, tailored to the interests and abilities of the children.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure activities are safe and appropriate for the medical setting.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning up activity areas before and after sessions.
- Support with the delivery of our special projects (i.e. sensory bags, teddybear day, world book day, liquid to tablets initiative). Including and not limited to researching and sourcing products, dealing with suppliers and associated administrative duties.
- Support with the distribution and collection of feedback from medical teams and families taking part in any of our programmes.
What skills do I need to have?
- Friendly, you'll be an ambassador of Rays of Sunshine whilst volunteering with us
- Experience of working with children and young people (not essential but preferred)
- Be comfortable interacting with others (especially children and young people) to create a relaxed and positive experience for them and their families
- Creative and organised, with knowledge of using Microsoft programmes (such as powerpoint and excel)
- Ability to solve problems and manage unexpected situations/last minute requests with a calm and professional manner
- Caring and empathic
- Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff and other volunteers.
