Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK-registered charity (1081455) offering funding (Awards), training and media profile to inspiring leaders of wildlife conservation projects across the Global South. The opportunity

Established in 1993, we have channelled £23 million to 220 conservation leaders in 80 countries across the Global South, benefitting wildlife, landscapes, and people. We are now seeking to expand the team in line with our activities by recruiting a Communications Assistant to maintain and grow the organisation’s online communications across digital and social media platforms and support the team with office administration and event organisation. The post-holder should be keen to make a difference by working in a small team across an impactful organisation. They should have demonstratable skills in online communications and audience engagement, knowledge of wildlife conservation issues, experience with event organisation and the ability to support a vibrant team to flourish. The Communications Assistant will report to The Head of Communications with matrix management to the Operations Manager, dividing their time by working on communications 3 days p/w and office administration and charity events 2 days p/w. Taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London, with programmes running from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempsted. We need an events manager who is adept at managing projects and events, working with our fundraisers and encouraging our supporters to get involved in our events such as our annual trek, the prestigious Care Sector Ball, and all the other events we’re involved in. The right person will have the confidence and persistence it takes to persuade, cajole, prod and encourage fundraisers to do as much as they can to raise funds for us. You need to be proficient at managing the admin that goes with events, including using fundraising platforms such as Just Giving and Enthuse to engage with fundraisers and provide regular reports on the income raised. We will also need you to organize hotel, travel, conference arrangements for the team.
You must be based in England, to help us keep travel costs down as much as possible. The role is home based, with travel to fundraising events, conferences and network meetings, and with travel every 10 weeks or so to central London for team meetings.
You must be a determined self-reliant professional though also a team player, to effectively coordinate and execute events and other activities, and be passionate about events management and fundraising to enable us to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

About the Role:
This role is co-located within Chelsea & Westminster Hospital 3-4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street and/or working from home.
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
As a Hospital Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of Sexual Health London, Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust, the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
- Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
- Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.
You will need to:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).

- Hertfordshire Mind Network is proud to provide early intervention support to children and young people experiencing poor mental health across Hertfordshire. We provide a combination of support through psychoeducational workshops, open access, 1:1 and group support.
- We are expanding our provision, to offer drop in, open access community support to 10–18-year-olds across the county who need someone to talk to about their mental health in that moment. This space will offer timely support, in a person-centred, trauma informed way.
- The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Herts Haven Café service are:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues, including crisis presentations, in Hertfordshire.
- To provide drop in, no referral required, timely support to 10-18 year olds.
- To support children and young people in Hertfordshire to access community based mental health help.
- To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided across the CYP MHS system.
About the Role:
The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Herts Haven Café service, facilitating drop-in mental health support for children and young people aged 10-18. As a practitioner you will meet the varying needs of the individual, as they present, meaning no day may look the same.
A person-centred approach will be maintained, and this role is pivotal to ensuring CYP have a warm and welcoming space to turn to. You will be working as a team to facilitate support, deliver brief mental health interventions, signposting, and ensure timely information, guidance and referrals are provided for ongoing support.

Our client Peter Bedford Housing Association (PBHA) is a housing association with charitable aims that create positive change in people’s lives. Based in Hackney, Islington and Newham, PBHA work with people who are homeless, have mental ill health, learning difficulties and multiple needs. The role:
The Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing) leads PBHA’s Housing Team to provide a quality housing management service to tenants with additional tenancy sustainment needs. They will provide day to day supervision to other members of the Housing Team. The post holder will work from local offices, with access to PBHA’s main office in Haggerston where appropriate, however some of the work will be in tenants’ homes in the community. The post holder will be issued the IT equipment necessary to facilitate mobile working.
Aims of the post
The Housing team provide work with vulnerable tenants, helping them to sustain their tenancy and participate in their community. The Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing) carries a small caseload, whilst managing a team of Housing Officers.
Specific Responsibilities
Staff Resources
• Supervising staff and volunteers in line with PBHA policies and procedures.
• Completing annual appraisals, sickness absence reviews and performance management.
• Representing PBHA at internal and external meetings as agreed with the Housing Services Manager.
• Ensuring quality service delivery via staff supervision and auditing.
Tenancy Sustainment
• To be responsible for working with a small caseload of tenants within a locality.
• Identifying individual tenancy needs through assessment and an identified Housing Plan which details risks, needs and move on plans.
• Regular contact with tenants as per plan.
• Provide a weekly housing management drop in at PBHA’s hubs.
• Ensure that tenants apply for benefits where eligible, and signpost tenants to information on how to maximise income.
• Record and monitor any breaches of tenancy agreement and work proactively and within procedures to resolve them.
• Liaise with the ASB lead, Income Officer, the Finance and Enterprises and Training departments to provide effective prevention and management of rent arrears, escalating where necessary in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure void targets are met and properties are let within agreed timescales.
• Arrange viewings and carry out sign ups of occupancy agreements and assist in the moving in/out process.
• Ensure tenants understand their rights and responsibilities in their occupancy agreements.
• Deal with complaints, nuisance and tenancy disputes as they arise.
• Work with tenants to promote self-help and mediation approaches to dispute resolution and address and escalate in line with procedure.
• Carry out regular building inspections, helping tenants to report repairs.
• Take pride in PBHA’s property and assets and encourage tenants to do so.
• Enforce the conditions of tenancy that enable PBHA to undertake urgent works such as gas servicing.
• Carry out H&S and fire checks and assessment, liaising closely with others to ensure that follow up actions are completed.
• Report safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
Team Responsibilities

• Adhere to lone-working procedures.
• To positively respond to, promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice.
• To have a collaborative and co-operative approach towards resolving complaints, working with colleagues across teams and departments.
• To take collective responsibility for any shortfalls identified through complaints rather than blaming others.
• To act within the Professional Standards for engaging with complaints as set by the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Access Information
The post is based at our Hubs. The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users. Clissold and Isledon Hubs have step-only access. The role involves travel within Hackney and Islington and working in tenants’ homes.
Main Conditions of Service
This is a full-time position. The post is for 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week, Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays.
Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.
Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year plus normal bank holidays pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays). This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days.
Salaries are revised each year. The starting salary for this post is £35,692 (SCP 18 – 22). We will usually appoint at the start of the scale.
The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.
In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months).

About the Service
The overall aim of the service is to increase survivor safety over time and to reduce incidents of domestic abuse through awareness raising and filling gaps in service provision, to reduce and remove harm for victim/survivors. The Floating Support Worker (FSW) supports victim/survivors of domestic abuse living in safe accommodation, at any level of risk, on a needs-led basis.
About the Role
As the FSW you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies. You will provide ongoing casework support, including referrals to specialist advice and practical support, such as legal advice around civil and criminal remedies. You will empower survivors with information on their rights and options, demystifying complex statutory systems and dispelling myths perpetuated by perpetrators and wider society and will provide support to maintain accommodation, or to source permanent accommodation as necessary.
About You
You will have a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.
