About Galop’s Policy and Evidence work

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining Galop, with flexibility to think long term about how best to drive change and do something new and different. Whilst Galop has always advocated for policy change, this role is part of a new, growing team specifically focused on evidence-based policy change. The team is led by the Director of Policy and Evidence and composed of a Research Manager, Survivor Engagement Manager, Policy Officer and this Research Officer role.

We are building an effective Policy and Evidence team, rooted in frontline insights and a formal research programme to influence decision-makers to make evidence-based policy change. A significant portion of this role will be spent supporting the Research Manager to deliver two multi-year research projects on LGBT victims and survivors’ access to support services and emergency accommodation.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of social research projects.
• Conducting qualitative fieldwork and literature reviews relating to research and policy priorities, with support from the team.
• Analysing data collected through internal datasets from Galop’s frontline services.

Pregnancy Options Centre (Options) are seeking a Fundraising Officer to raise funds for our counselling and education services: supporting people in crisis or distress around unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy loss experiences and educating the next generation on matters surrounding sexual health and healthy relationships. The post-holder will be responsible for raising funds from grants/trusts applications, and for developing and maintaining donor relationships. The role also has scope to grow and develop relationships with local businesses and individual giving to increase our income diversity.

Pregnancy Options Centre provides free, non-directive help and support to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or struggling following an abortion or pregnancy loss. We offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings surrounding their situation and experiences. Alongside our counselling service, our Education project delivers interactive workshops to young people on topics surrounding healthy sex and relationships, self-esteem and the three options following an unplanned pregnancy: abortion, adoption and parenting.

Fundraising Officer Job Description

Key Responsibilities Fundraising and Finance:

• To carry out and contribute to the fundraising strategy
• Write comprehensive and compelling funding applications to Trusts and Foundations, tailoring them to meet a range of criteria
• To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising goals
• Build, nurture and maintain positive relationships with current funders, corporates and donors by stewarding them well.

The Access is Justice Foundation is seeking a Grants Officer who will join our Grants Team to provide ongoing administrative, operational, and data management support for our grant making activity, working alongside others in the Grants Team. You will maintain relationships with funded partners; undertake analysis of grants data, draft documents, reports, and communication materials; and provide ongoing support for our funding programmes and broader organisational work as needed. Overview of the Team  

The Corporate Services team provides essential strategic and operational support across the organisation. Our governance function oversees compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks. The finance team manages budgets, financial planning, and reporting. All of this contributes to effective decision making. • Provide governance support including the preparation and timely circulation of agendas, papers, minutes and action logs for Board and Committee meetings. 
• Monitor and report on progress against Board and Committee actions, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery.

The appointee will develop and manage WA-UK’s Communication & Community Development strategy in coordination with the Fundraising Officer, the Programmes Officer, and in partnership with Taawon.  We’re looking for a team player who will devise communication strategies and produce content that informs and inspires multiple audiences including supporters, donors and other stakeholders.  You will set outreach targets, play an integral role in advancing campaigns – off-line and on-line – to advance the objectives of the charity and actively manage the website.  The post-holder will also provide administrative support and ensure the smooth running of the office

Duties & Key Responsibilities

Communications, outreach and community engagement

Guided by WA-UK’s objectives and strategic priorities and working in collaboration with its key partners:

· develop and lead on implementing WA-UK’s communication and community development strategy;

· produce content that informs and generates knowledge for the benefit of multiple audiences including supporters, donors and stakeholders; and utilise different mediums through which to disseminate that content;

· set outreach targets and grow and diversify the charity’s audience;

· devise and manage campaigns (offline and online) to advance WAUK’s objectives;

· regularly update website content (including quarterly e-news), WAUK Facebook page, X, Instagram profiles, LinkedIn;

· liaise with Taawon to coordinate messaging and appeals as and when necessary;

· maintain and update mailing lists;

· with the fundraising officer, promote the charity’s public profile (directly and indirectly) including through participation in multiple fora and with other stakeholders, charities, NGOs operating in the humanitarian space;

· promote opportunities for grassroots initiatives to engage with WA-UK.

 

Support and reporting

The appointee will:

· provide support to the programme officer and fundraising officer as and when needed

· provide the board with regular updates on the implementation of the communications and community engagement strategy

· contribute to the production of reports issued by and for the board including the annual report.

 

Administration

The appointee will be responsible for:

· basic book-keeping;

· monitoring and processing donations (digital and postal), responding to donors and updating databases;

· answering calls & inquiries including by email and post;

· general office admin tasks such as filing, maintaining office supplies.

We are the Wandsworth representative of the national City of Sanctuary (CoS) charity. This project will support the committee and expand our activities in the voluntary and community sector and elsewhere to build commitment to Sanctuaries in the Borough. Wandsworth has a small but active network supporting refugees. The existing sanctuaries include a theatre, cafe and shop. Our Wandsworth libraries are en route to become sanctuaries and there is active interest from schools and faith groups. The contract is initially for 62 days over one year. Background to the project

The Project is supported by Wandsworth Council as a Borough of Sanctuary and by Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network (LRMN). Note that for the year 2025 Wandsworth is the London Borough of Culture.

Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees is a charity and operates primarily on a voluntary basis. We aim to make Wandsworth a welcoming place for those seeking sanctuary to feel safe, supported and part of our community.  WWR is part of the City of Sanctuary movement and is the accredited organization in Wandsworth. We work with voluntary and community sector (VCS) and other organisations to encourage and support those wishing to reach out to refugees. We liaise with those interested in finding out more, offering general support, offering general support, or seeking to become accredited with City of Sanctuary. 

Objectives of the project
The project will support the WWR committee activities and objectives. It will expand WWR reach and contacts in the VCS and other appropriate places and organisations. It will raise the profile of the sanctuary movement and encourage active participation by various organisations to create welcoming communities for people seeking sanctuary. Participation can range from an interest and small steps through to becoming accredited with City of Sanctuary.

Wandsworth and Sanctuaries
Sanctuaries include community groups, private organizations, public sector services, and individuals, united in their commitment to supporting those fleeing violence and persecution. Wandsworth is a Borough of Sanctuary, and the accredited organisations at present include a theatre, café and shop. Wandsworth libraries and some faith groups and schools are in the process of applying to become accredited. There is interest from other theatres, shops, sporting facilities and many others. 

Role of the Community Engagement Officer

• Assist the committee to increase its outreach and communication with interested organisations across the Borough

• Join monthly committee meeting to report and plan

• Meet and liaise with the key refugee support organisations in Wandsworth and a small number in other London boroughs 

• Organise an on-line Meet-Up for sharing and support ‘clinics’ (every 4-6 weeks); develop a launch for this event

• Liaise with the committee Events Group fundraising and events activities 

• Liaise with and include lived experience into outreach and activities (WWR has a small advisory group

• Liaise with committee members represented on the Council’s ‘Migration Forum’ 

• Liaise with the organisations accredited with CoS in Wandsworth: CoS asks accredited organisations share activities and learning

• Assist in planning and implementing activities during Refugee Week (June)

• Participate in the annual City of Sanctuary Annual Conference 

• Assist organisation of Annual General Meeting (in 2026 date to be decided)

WWR is applying for additional funds and if successful will increase the contracted time of the CEO and allow more time for this role and to widen the brief.

The Wiener Holocaust Library (WHL) is the world’s oldest Holocaust archive and the home of Britain’s largest collection of published and unpublished works, documents and photographs relating to the Nazi era. 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong attention to detail and experience of post-award administration and budget reporting to support our organisational Finance administration, including grant-related budget reporting.

As we are a small organisation, we are looking for someone who is a good team player, keen to be involved in other projects as necessary, and prepared to show willingness to go beyond the terms of the job description. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WHL Finance Administrative Tasks

• Tracking and reconciliation of WHL credit card transactions;

• Recording and reconciliation of donation income

• Recording invoices and expense claims using our account package (SAGE)

• Drafting communications including reports and letters

• Supporting fundraising applications, reporting and communications, including quarterly reporting for special projects.

• Any ad hoc tasks as required.

EHRI-UK and Other Post-Award Tasks:

• Monitor and track WHL EHRI-UK and EHRI budgets, including for EHRI-UK Fellowships

• Monitor and track other expenditure, budgets, invoices and other financial aspects of grants.
