The Work Rights Centre is looking for an experienced employment legal adviser, solicitor or barrister to contribute to our growing programme. The successful candidate will provide expert employment legal advice and casework, and support the wider development of the charity and our strategic goals.

The role
You’ll provide excellent employment legal advice, and support the Head of Employment in supervising our team. You’ll also use your expertise to create accessible public-facing legal information, deliver impactful training to both advisers and employers, and collaborate with colleagues in the policy team. This is a real opportunity to support vulnerable workers' claims, while contributing to systemic change.
About you
We seek an experienced professional who shares our commitment to employment justice, and who is either:

a practising solicitor or barrister eligible to practice law in England and Wales with 2+ years of PQE, or

an employment legal adviser with 4+ years of experience of providing advice and case work.

The Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners’ Royal Benevolent Society – “The Shipwrecked Mariners” for short – was founded in 1839 and operates throughout the British Isles. Our primary purpose is to provide financial help to fishermen, merchant mariners and their dependants, both retired and of working age, who are in need. The Society has over 1,200 regular beneficiaries and receives over 600 applications for assistance each year.
To help us continue to provide a great service to mariners and their families, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us in the role of Grants Officer.
Our grants provide practical support for individuals and families that are experiencing severe financial distress and help them stabilise their situation during times of crisis. All our grants are means tested and exclusively focussed on those on low incomes (with little or no savings). A significant number of our grants are provided to those in retirement, however we also support those who are unable to work because of accident, illness, disability, or for compassionate reasons, as well as those who struggling to find employment. Our grants are used to cover a wide range of needs but are primarily aimed at helping people maintain a reasonable and dignified standard of living. We also help those who are struggling with debts as well as providing immediate support to the dependants of seafarers who have died at sea or during accidents ashore.
We are offering this role on a full-time basis, with a minimum of 2 days per week (Tues and Weds) working from our Chichester office, but potential for home working at other times. Some travel will be required for the role, including occasional overnight stays.

We are looking for a compassionate and driven Independent Gender-Based Violence Advocate (IGVA) to join Refuge’s Athena service in Lewisham. In this rewarding frontline role, you will support women and children affected by domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing high-quality advocacy, practical support and safety planning to survivors at the highest risk. Working as part of a specialist team, you will play a vital role in helping survivors regain safety, stability and control over their lives. You will also take part on managing our Helpline Service, by managing new referrals from survivors and other partners, and responding to daily enquiries from partnership agencies, public and impacted individuals over the phone and email.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of domestic abuse; trauma and the barriers survivors can face when accessing support. You will be experienced in risk assessment, multi-agency partnership working and delivering survivor-focused support. Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills are essential, alongside the ability to work sensitively with women in crisis and manage a varied and demanding caseload. Your role
We’re looking for a Fundraising Manager to take our individual, community and corporate fundraising to the next level. Building on our existing fundraising and partnerships, you will build and deliver a strategy that maximises income through creative engagement and strong stewardship, ensuring a pipeline of unrestricted income.

We’re looking for an Advice & Wellbeing Specialist to provide high-quality, holistic support to residents, helping them sustain tenancies and improve their wellbeing. You will need to feel confident and comfortable visiting residents in their homes, with one day per week based in an office.
Your typical day could start by working with residents in their homes and neighbourhoods to understand their immediate needs. Later, you might deliver advice and wellbeing support in a community wellbeing hub before engaging with external stakeholders to build a strong network of support for our residents.

Your key responsibilities
You’ll deliver personalised, trauma-informed advice and wellbeing support in the community, taking a holistic approach to tenancy, health, and social needs. You’ll manage safeguarding cases with care, build strong relationships with internal teams like Neighbourhood Managers, Financial Inclusion, and Repairs, and collaborate with external partners such as local authorities, mental health services, and advice agencies. Alongside this, you’ll support wellbeing hubs and community events, keep accurate records, manage cases effectively, and use CRM systems to track and report outcomes.
About you
- Experience delivering a range of advice and wellbeing advocacy in outreach, face-to-face settings.
- Extensive experience managing a large and varied caseload.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively.
- Self-motivated, resilient, with a successful track record of engaging and supporting people in vulnerable and complex circumstances.
- Backgrounds may include: social services, family support, drug & alcohol services, Citizens Advice, homelessness charities.
- Awareness of the client group and ability to work empathetically.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the daily operation of the Mind BLMK Luton Mental Health Prevention and Recovery Service.
Based at our Luton Wellbeing Centre the service provides a range of activities, groups and support opportunities throughout the week, helping people to manage their mental health, build confidence and progress through their own recovery journeys.
The Service Manager role is varied and rewarding, ensuing the smooth running of the service and playing a key role in shaping and enhancing the service to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the local community. Working in line with Mind BLMK values, you will monitor performance and drive service improvement, promote the service across the area, and build strong partnerships with local organisations, community groups, and key stakeholders.
You will oversee referrals into the service, lead on the assessment of more complex cases to determine suitability, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support. You will also provide day to day leadership and supervision to the staff, volunteers, and student team, while maintaining responsibility for the health, safety, and management of the Luton Wellbeing Centre and its facilities.
Service Delivery Includes
Operate a service and ensure outcomes which supports individuals to deescalate crisis and develop strategies for recovery and increased wellbeing, in line with Mind BLMKs Recovery Model and contract requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Work with the Operational Services Manager to review, design and implement changes to service delivery and working models, ensuring the service meets the needs of the local community, identifying solutions to gaps in provision and seek opportunities to grow the service and maximise the use of the centre premises.
Contribute to the development of the Luton service plan in line with both Mind BLMK priorities and the wider Luton Mental Health Plan and 2040 vision.
