Responsibilities:

Principal Role

• Develop and deliver Back Up’s corporate fundraising strategy, focusing on securing long-term, high-value partnerships with organisations aligned to our mission.
• Lead on building and maintaining a pipeline of corporate prospects, driving new business and fostering strong partnerships that support Back Up’s objectives.
• Build and nurture relationships with existing and new partners, ensuring they are engaged, informed, and understand the impact of their support.
• Oversee and manage corporate partnerships income and expenditure budgets, ensuring targets, KPIs and return on investment are achieved and reported.
• Work closely with the Promotions manager to support sponsorship requests with spinal cord injury sector partners.
• Champion collaborative working across the organisation to maximise opportunities and ensure alignment with Back Up’s business plans and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and secure new corporate partnerships through research, networking, events and tailored approaches.
• Account manage existing partners, delivering exceptional stewardship, engagement opportunities and impact updates.
• Write and create persuasive funding applications, proposals and pitches, working with the trusts and foundations team where beneficial.
• Organise, prepare for and lead meetings and pitches to win new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.
• Undertake due diligence on potential partners in line with Back Up’s fundraising policies.
• Lead on drafting partnership agreements, clearly defining mutual expectations and mitigating risks.
• Develop, motivate and support corporate volunteers, partners and committees to drive sustainable fundraising.
• Design and implement engaging corporate communications, including use of LinkedIn and other social media to raise awareness and income.
• Monitor, measure and evaluate corporate fundraising performance, reporting progress to Head of Partnerships, senior management, and trustees.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, particularly organisations and foundations focused on social mobility, inclusion, and mental and physical health.
• Work closely with the Services team to understand and communicate the impact of partnerships on people affected by spinal cord injury.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations to create partnership budgets and contracts.
• Work with the partnerships team (special events, trusts and foundations, promotions manager) to develop cultivation activities tailored to corporate audiences.
• Represent the team at internal and external meetings, working groups and events.
• Contribute to a collaborative, creative and expert fundraising culture by sharing ideas and best practice across the team.
• Maintain accurate records of all interactions and approaches.

The Children's Society is at an exciting stage of its journey as we look to ramp up our political campaigning and advocacy to achieve our goal to reverse the damaging decline in children's wellbeing.

The Senior Campaigns & Advocacy Officer will form a key part of the Policy, Advocacy and Influencing team, bringing together policy, public affairs and campaigns expertise to drive systemic change for young people. You will be responsible for delivering ambitious campaigns to achieve our aims, utilising offline and online tactics to empower supporters to join us in influencing policy and creating change.

The role will work with the wider team across our priority areas of work; spanning young people's wellbeing and mental health, adolescent risk and vulnerability, and child poverty. You will be involved in delivering long-term strategic campaigns as well as responding to immediate opportunities to mobilise and advocate for change for young people.

You will work with colleagues across the organisation, including our youth voice work to ensure that the voices and experiences of young people are central to our political campaigns activity.

We are looking for a determined and skilled campaigner to join us on our journey to deliver ambitious public advocacy efforts to bring about meaningful, impactful change for children and young people.

The role will be line managed by the Campaigns & Advocacy Manager.

Key responsibilities will be to:

-Deliver the campaigns and public advocacy work in line with defined policy and influencing priorities of the organisation, contributing to delivering and growing impact with and for young people.

-Producing high-quality campaign materials to inspire political action and support across a range of audiences.

-Work with young people, parents/carers and practitioners on opportunities to be involved in campaigns and advocacy work, including having their voices heard by decision makers to inform policy change.

-Capture and monitor the impact of campaigns and advocacy work, utilising data to form a powerful, compelling narrative to demonstrate the value of campaigning to influence change.

-Contribute to the external representation of our political campaigning and advocacy work.

Finance Business Partner

A great opportunity has arisen to join Asthma + Lung UK as a Finance Business Partner (Part Time, Fixed Term Contract).  As a Finance Business Partner, you will bridge the gap between finance, management and other areas of the charity, to ensure timely and accurate stakeholder reporting. You will provide insights and analysis to executives as well as lead on month-end, budget and forecast reporting.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

This is offered as a fixed term contract, part time (0.6 FTE) position to cover a period of maternity leave. The role will encompass reforecasting, planning and budgeting and will include year-end reporting. 

You’ll be responsible for a full range of business partner duties including but not limited to:

• Month-end reporting and analysis, providing insightful commentary for the Head of Finance Business Partnering.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
• Using your strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) to work effectively with staff across all levels of the organisation.

PURPOSE

This role sits within the growing development team and will be responsible for managing a US and International portfolio of current and prospective major donors, cultivating relationships with individuals, trusts, and corporations and soliciting major gifts and stewarding donors effectively to encourage their lasting support. The Senior Development Manager will connect these stakeholders to our mission through a combination of face-to-face meetings, events, written proposals, and compelling presentations.

REPORTS TO

The Senior Development Manager  West Coast will report to the Director of Development US for the WHO Foundation. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES & FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising and portfolio management:

• Responsible for delivering major gifts from HNWIs, philanthropists, corporates, foundations in support of WHO’s strategic priorities in the US— particularly in major markets such as the Bay Area, Seattle, and Southern California.

• Manage a portfolio of 60-80 prospective donors (250K to 5 million USD capacity) and develop them across all stages of cultivation.

• In partnership with the Regional Director US, design and implement a comprehensive development strategy for the West Coast, aligned with the Foundation’s development goals.

• Meet a yearly set of agreed fundraising KPIs (including money raised, asks made, meetings secured and gift close rate).

• Efficiently use the CRM to record and report on activity: feeding into campaign data, team reporting and management information for the senior leadership team.

Relationship management:

• Develop and implement effective cultivation/ solicitation strategies with potential donors to motivate significant gifts to match fundraising priorities. 

• Initiate and grow a personal network of senior key influencers who are able to advise and make introductions to strengthen and grow our major donor base.

• Build mutually beneficial relationships with WHOF and WHO colleagues, particularly in relation to fundraising projects, and align programmes of activity where appropriate. 

• Create shared opportunities that support and advance the Foundation's fundraising priorities.

• Translate complex ideas into compelling messages tailored to supporters.

• Contribute to the concept, planning and delivery of events and other opportunities to engage with WHOF’s community of supporters.

• Work with leadership and fundraisers from across the Foundation to identify potential funding priorities that may be of particular interest to North American prospects.

Collaboration:

• Work in partnership with the Finance team, Legal, Comms and wider WHOF teams to ensure gifts are processed in line with donor wishes and financial regulations

• Work with senior stakeholders to secure transformational gifts.

• Ensure the highest standards of donor care through effective stewardship, timely reporting, gift acknowledgment and continued engagement.

Job requirements

PROFILE

• Significant experience of managing principal gift portfolios and closing 6- and 7-figure gifts

• Experience developing and implementing innovative high network individual events.

• Experience working in a target-orientated environment and operating at the most senior level. 

• Demonstrable experience of designing and executing successful fundraising strategies

• Excellent knowledge of best practice in philanthropic fundraising applied successfully in international development, higher education, health, or nonprofit sectors

• Strong experience in health partnership with health emergencies and corporate partners is also welcome

• Thorough knowledge of IT systems, database management and Salesforce.

• Experience working in an international organization and/or in international development within a complex stakeholder environment

• Knowledge of West Coast philanthropic networks and organizations particularly the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and/or Seattle is strongly preferred.

• Self motivated, target driven and aptitude to work with flexibility and autonomy both individually and as part of a multi-stakeholder team

• Comfort with and/or experience of operating in a lean, start-up and remote environment

• Fluency in English (excellent writing skills)

Role purpose

RISE strives for a world where people , including children and young people, can lead safe, purposeful lives as a result of better relationships within families and communities; where harmful behaviour is marginalised and fewer people , including children and young people, are victims of crime. In order to create safe communities, RISE empowers people to break their cycle of harmful behaviour. RISE’s programmes challenge attitudes and facilitate long-lasting behaviour change and are driven by the belief that people , including children and young people, can make better decisions, given the right support. RISE are specialists in designing and delivering evidence-based, transformative behaviour change courses within the criminal justice system and wider community.
 

With the main objectives of reducing re-offending and helping to protect the public, the RISE practitioner will deliver a range of interventions (individual and group), that RISE may design, commission or be commissioned to deliver in the future, both in the community and in custody.

The main purpose of this role is to support and assist Facilitators, Advanced Practitioner,  Responsible Officers and Service managers  in the administration of the Domestic Abuse contracts delivery by co-ordinating project resources such as people and equipment. The post holder will also be responsible for maintaining information systems linked to specific DA contracts.
 

Key duties and accountabilities

• To undertake a range of administrative duties, including log on cases, tracking and issuing documents to clients.
• Be adept in managing a new client based system.
• Working closely with practitioners to facilitate and schedule service users onto courses or appointments or chasing information.
• Drafting documentation where appropriate under direction from the Service Manager.
• Communicate with referrers, specifically social workers, mental health provoiders.
• Maintaining excellent filing and records of case files to ensure effective recording on attendance and completion of courses.
• Ensure the team has excellent administrative support across all projects.
• Help manage communications both within the project team and between the project teams and project delivery partners.
• To ensure that all contractual information is recorded, updated and accessible.
• Work with  Team leader and Service Manager and practitioners to support the scheduling of and take the initiative/decisions of assigning service users to relevant groups/1-2-1 sessions based on outcome of assessment.
• Keep any relevant records for audit compliance.
• Collate information and complete the monthly/quarterly KPI data reports required by commissioning partner as stated within each individual contract.
•  Provide excellent customer service and be the first point of contact for telephone communication for our commissioning partners, service users and families and transfer enquiry to appropriate staff member if unable to resolve query themselves.
• Be solution focused and able to troubleshoot.
• Collate and analyse statistical information.
• Prepare and present management information as requested by Service Manager.
• Prepare reports and provide performance information to inform decision making.
• Provide general administrative support relating to the running of the department (purchasing, maintaining rota, basic resource management).

General tasks:

• Develop excellent relationships with customers and respond positively to their needs.
• Be a strong advocate for RISE interventions, representing RISE and its interventions at key stakeholder events.

About the role

This role helps deliver advice through the Empty Homes Advice Service (EHAS), which takes queries from members of the public as well as practitioners engaged in empty homes work. These enquiries come from empty homeowners, those with concerns about empty homes in their community, people interested in buying and renovating empty homes, and empty homes practitioners.  The Adviser will provide advice to these groups via telephone and email and will ensure online advice content remains up to date, creating new resources as needed. They will undertake activities to promote the service and wider partnership to reach the intended audience, including social media and events.

Role specifics

You will provide advice on empty homes options to owners, neighbours, potential buyers, and practitioners, responding to enquiries by phone and email with a focus on assessing needs and achieving desired outcomes. The role involves advocating for clients with other agencies, maintaining high standards to meet contractual and professional targets, and accurately recording information on our case management system. You will identify cases needing further advice and make referrals where necessary, collaborating with Shelter services and other agencies. Empowering clients to self-help, keeping advice knowledge up to date, and working within the service’s operating model are key. You will also provide written advice confirmations, update online advice resources, contribute to marketing efforts such as events and social media, and carry out other duties as directed by your line manager.

Part of an award-winning Communication & Policy Department, our Scottish Empty Homes Partnership (SEHP) is a Scottish Government funded project aimed at enabling private sector empty homes to be brought back into use across Scotland. In this post you will have the opportunity to develop and manage the City of Sanctuary Sheffield volunteer team.  You will be a vital part of the running of City of Sanctuary Sheffield - ensuring that the volunteer team is inclusive, cohesive and well trained and that it supports all the incredible work that City of Sanctuary Sheffield do. Crucially, you will ensure that people seeking sanctuary remain at the heart of the volunteer team. This role is a maternity cover for the current post holder. 

• Reports to: Director  

• Responsible for: Volunteer Administrator; Team of volunteers.  

• Period of Contract: This is a temporary contract covering maternity leave for a duration of 9 months with the possibility of a 3 month extension  

• Hours of work: Part time – 0.4 FTE (14 hours a week)  

• Pay Band: Band B  

• Pay: £14,165 (0.4 FTE); (£35,412 - 1.0 FTE)  

• Pension: 8%

How we currently own, manage and make decisions about land lies at the heart of many of our current social, economic and environmental challenges and injustices. 

Shared Assets works with people and land for a just future.

We undertake advice & support, research, movement building, communications and resourcing work to support, mobilise and advocate for the development of models of managing land that create shared social, economic and environmental benefits. We see systems change as a core value of our work and seek to be transformative, both through externally-facing projects and internal approaches and ways of working.

Our research work supports collective learning related to working on and with the land. We communicate our findings through articles, blogs, podcasts, reports, events, and more - building a shared evidence base to support the development of a just land system. Through our research, we seek to make an impact at a local and a systemic level. We want to create conditions that allow people and communities to thrive, and promote care for the land and environment. We do this work on both a commercial and grant funded basis.

The role holder will lead the full range of Shared Assets’ research projects, from scoping and design through to delivery, follow up and evaluation. They will need to have experience of designing and carrying out research and learning activities with a wide range of partners - including academics, community groups, NGOS and local authorities - in collaborative ways. In the past we have worked on research projects of many scales - from large European Union funded consortia, to smaller, one-off pieces which help a local authority or community organisation move forward with their work. Often our research work involves collaborating with a group of other civil society organisations to provide evidence of why change in the land, food and farming system is needed, and generate action on these issues. 

The main areas of work are to: manage and deliver funded research projects (or projects with a research component) with partners, reflect with colleagues on what we are learning within and across workstreams as an organisation and sector, use this knowledge to create new ideas for research work, and support fundraising for these, as part of our ‘infrastructure’ role.

PURPOSE

The Principal Gifts Manager is a vital member of the Development team at the WHO Foundation, responsible for advancing strategic fundraising and engagement goals. The role will appeal to a talented principal gifts fundraiser motivated by the opportunity to make a transformative impact on the Foundation’s fundraising at a pivotal moment in its history.

By cultivating relationships with individuals, trusts, and corporations, this role will secure $3M+ funding from a diverse and growing community of supporters. The Principal Gifts Manager will connect these stakeholders to our mission through a blend of face-to-face meetings, events, tailored proposals, and compelling presentations. This role may also serve as a multi-market specialist, managing select portfolios.

REPORTS TO

 The Principal Gifts Manager will report to the Director of Development US for the WHO Foundation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising and portfolio management:

• Increase philanthropic gifts to WHOF and build a sustainable pipeline of prospects and fundraising income.

• Manage a portfolio of 30-40 prospective donors and deliver multiple gifts at the $3 million + level.

•  Meet or exceed targets, including dollars raised, asks made, meetings secured, and gift closure rates.

• Develop strategies for multi-year transformational funding etc to : Develop strategies for multi-year transformational funding, working collaboratively with the Development Team to expand UHNW networks and corporate partners. Build plans to engage family offices, donor-advised funds, wealth advisors, and family foundations at the principal gift level.

• Efficiently use the CRM to track and report activity, support campaign data, and provide management information for senior leadership.

• Cultivate deep and meaningful principal gift relationships with prospects and donors.

• Develop strong working relationships with WHO and WHOF ’s staff and senior volunteers.

Relationship management:

• Design and execute effective cultivation/ solicitation strategies with potential donors that inspire major gifts to match fundraising priorities.

• Initiate and grow a personal network of senior influencers and connectors to strengthen and expand the principal gifts pipeline..

• Build mutually beneficial relationships with WHOF and WHO colleagues, particularly in relation to [around] fundraising projects, and align programmes of activity where appropriate.

• Create shared opportunities that support and advance the Foundation's fundraising priorities: replace: Identify and leverage shared opportunities that advance the Foundation’s fundraising priorities.

• Translate complex ideas into compelling messages tailored to supporters..

• Work with leadership and fundraisers from across the Foundation to identify potential funding priorities of interest to principal gift donors and prospects.

• Where assigned, lead on a geographical focus region’s overall engagement strategy, leveraging existing and planned foundation-wide activity to increase regional engagement, whilst collaborating with stakeholders, advocates and ambassadors to further identify new philanthropic funding opportunities

Collaboration:

• Work in partnership with the Finance team, Legal, Communications and wider WHOF teams to ensure gifts are processed in line with donor wishes and financial regulations

• Work with senior stakeholders to secure transformational gifts.

• Ensure the highest standards of donor care through effective stewardship, timely reporting, gift acknowledgment and continued engagement.

• Demonstrate tact, discretion and resourcefulness in all areas of performance.

Job requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years to attract senior-level US fundraisers. of experience in fundraising 

• Significant experience of managing principal gift portfolios and closing 7- and 8-figure gifts

• Proficient in building relationships and negotiating with UHNW and HNWI donors

• Demonstrable experience of working to and achieving challenging financial targets

• Demonstrable experience of designing and executing successful fundraising strategies

• Excellent knowledge of best practice in philanthropic fundraising applied successfully in international development, higher education, health, or nonprofit sectors

• Strong experience in health partnership with health emergencies and corporate partners is also welcome

• Thorough knowledge of IT systems, database management and Salesforce.

• Experience working in an international organization and/or in international development within a complex stakeholder environment

• Knowledge of US philanthropic networks and organizations

• Self motivated, target driven and aptitude to work with flexibility and autonomy both individually and as part of a multi-stakeholder team

• Comfort with and/or experience of operating in a lean, start-up and remote environment

• Excellent attention to detail and applied successfully in international development, higher education, health, or nonprofit sectors

The charity is now seeking a Director of Individual Giving in a new and exciting opportunity to explore how UK4U can expand on these foundations, with a focus on increasing the sustainability of the donor base and maximising lifetime value, as well as identifying opportunities for transformational income growth.

The role will be responsible for leading a team of 12 people and strategic leadership for all fundraising from the UK public, including mid-value and legacy supporters, and covering both digital and offline channels.
