As the Operations Assistant you will be supporting the Operations Manager in delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity. Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle Management, and IT Services.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

· Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.

· Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and experience a welcoming environment.

· Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual Operations plan.

· Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and take minutes in operations-related working groups.

· Support with updating operational policies and procedures.

· Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO), alongside the Operations Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.

· Assist in the coordination of charity vehicle fleet maintenance schedules and provide breakdown response support.

· Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.

· Act as a designated keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing procedure.

· Manage the operations shared email inbox.

Health & Safety

· Serve as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters, including incidents and accidents, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.

· Provide operational and administrative support on all Health & Safety matters at our sites and external locations (including external events and the Outreach Service, updating COSHH reports).

· Assist in the procurement, delivery and recording of mandatory staff training needs.

· Help establish and maintain safe working practices and policies and undertake basic risk assessments.

Workwear and equipment

· Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests; including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock checks and ordering stock as required.

Tech Support

· Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries .

· Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes.

· Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that maintain the IT security score.

· Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including software licenses, logins, and induction training.

· Serve as lead administrator for key operational software, such as Webex phone system and Vatix Lone Worker App.

General Administrative Support & Development

· Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.

· Manage charity postal enquiries.

· Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and consumables.

· Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support.

Environmental Advocate

· Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g., recycling, energy use, carbon footprint).

· Identify and implement actions to reduce environmental impacts, costs, and/or increase income under the direction of the Operations Manager.

The Charity

The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part. 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to deliver, manage and support our YAT Adventure Programme.

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the Adventure Programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting residential adventure camps and activity days throughout the year.

• Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

• Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require. 

• Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

• Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

• Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

• Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme. 

• Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

• Taking the lead with day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

• Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people. 

• Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

You will also;

• Be involved in sector networking and awareness raising on behalf of the Trust.

• Act as an ambassador for the Youth Adventure Trust at all times.

The post is subject to a six months’ probationary period.

The Candidate

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable and challenging young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with young people, parents/carers and professional organisations. You’ll need strong influencing and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with issues and challenges. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model. 

We need someone with:- 

• Commitment to safeguarding and dedication to promoting the welfare of young people.

• Relevant experience of managing young people, preferably in a residential environment as well as outside of this.

• Experience in working in partnership with other professional organisations and parents/carers.

• Strong leadership and team skills to motivate, support and work alongside a team of volunteers, activity instructors and logistics staff. 

• Self-motivation with the ability to work on their own initiative to plan and manage their workload.

• Strong IT skills including experience of MS Office, web based platforms and databases.

• Excellent administrative skills and a methodical and thorough approach.

• The ability to perform well and problem solve in high-stress and changing situations. Ability to be flexible and dynamic in approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A positive attitude, high energy and enthusiasm for the work of the Youth Adventure Trust; an understanding of the positive impact outdoor adventure can have on vulnerable young people, and a desire to help inspire young lives.

In addition:-

• The ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as required is essential - the role includes attending several residential camps over the year, and some weekend days working on activities. If you are looking for a predictable 9-5 work environment, this won’t be the right fit.

• A full current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.

The key elements of the Operations Manager are:

Manage, Supervise and Support the Staff Team and Individual Staff Members.

1. Ensure Rainbow Haven provides a supportive working environment in which staff and volunteer well-being is prioritised, for individuals and the whole team.

Job Title: Property Manager

We are recruiting for a Property Manager to join our growing Property team, we are looking for a committed and knowledgeable person to lead our property asset management. This is an opportunity to support women and children facing multiple barriers to safety and recovery, including survivors with insecure immigration status, experiences of homelessness or substance misuse. 

You will provide leadership in day-to-day service delivery, ensuring high standards of property management. You will oversee a portfolio of property for programme of works, lease and contract management and create a contractor supplier database. 

This role is ideal for someone with experience in property and contractor management who wants to make a difference for our survivors. You will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills with training and development opportunities.

The Fundraising Manager is expected to be an integral part of the leadership team to manage the delivery of the Fundraising strategy.

• To work with the Fundraising Team to develop and deliver Halton Haven Hospice’s community engagement.  To achieve this by identifying, prospecting, supporting and facilitating the development of volunteer networks, individuals, businesses and fundraising groups across the Hospice’s area.
• To raise funds to meet agreed targets and objectives and be responsible for identifying, engaging and winning new support as well as maintaining and developing existing support from the community.
• Take responsibility for the line management of the Fundraising Team. and support and coach the development of the Fundraising Team.
• Liaise with all relevant colleagues to ensure that events and campaigns are promoted throughout the community.  To include providing content and gathering stories for web pages, social media and other communications as well as online resources for those interested in fundraising for the Hospice.
• To promote Halton Haven Hospice by organising and/or delivering talks to local community groups, schools and nurseries, businesses and other organisations.
• Record and process donations, correspondence and permissions on the database in accordance with the requirements of GDPR.  Acknowledge support and arrange cheque presentations; liaising with other departments as appropriate.
• The post holder will be expected to manage their own workload, work under their own initiative and provide feedback producing reports and event evaluations both verbally and in writing as required.
• To undertake any other duties which may reasonably fall within the role of the post which will include attending events in the evening and at weekends.

Global Affairs Lead - Climate

About the Role 

As our Global Affairs Lead focusing on climate you will drive the political strategy and global advocacy for our climate campaign. Bringing considerable strategic contacts, networks and relationships for WASH and Climate advocacy you will work closely with the Global Head of Campaigns on Climate and the Climate Policy Lead, this role being responsible for the design and delivery of the international political plan on Climate and the insider advocacy, activities and tactics required you will bring political analysis and strategic insight into the organisation to inform our campaigning and advocacy, identify policy needs and inform media and public engagement approaches. 

In this role, you will lead design and delivery of the International Climate Political Plan, the international political influencing strategy for WaterAid’s Climate campaign and give strategic direction to the political advocacy for COP30 agenda for Brasil and influence key decision-makers on climate finance for water and WASH adaptation investment. You will have a good understanding of climate adaptation agenda and policy and you will be responsible for the power-mapping and political analysis that identifies the key levers for change in support of our political plan change objectives for Climate. Bring a strong understanding of the institutions, organisations. 

You’ll also:  

• Be responsible for co-chairing the Global Advocacy Meeting with the global head of campaigns on Climate. 
• Lead the process to identify which targets are best for our policy change objectives, which we can then further refine in line with those targets.
• Be a media spokesperson and represent the organisation at strategic events and with high-level campaign targets. 
• Embed a strong gender, equity and inclusion lens to advocacy priority delivery, as part of addressing the needs of those burdened the most with a lack of access to WASH. 
• Travel in support of the global relationships and strategic presence at key events and processes. 

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need:  

• Strategic Political Leadership: Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with the ability to design and lead the implementation of comprehensive international political influencing plans. 

• High-Level Relationship Management: Demonstrated success in building, managing, and leveraging relationships with senior decision-makers, including government officials, international development agencies, and private sector leaders. 

• WASH and Climate Expertise: Deep understanding of the intersection between WASH, climate change and poverty reduction. As well as how these sit within wider development issues.

• Advocacy and Campaign Leadership: Proven ability to develop and execute successful advocacy campaigns with demonstrable impact. Strong analytical skills to assess political contexts, identify opportunities, and design tailored advocacy strategies.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Partnerships Manager to join our small and dynamic team. This new role will support the Head of Partnerships and wider WFN team in delivering our fundraising strategy, stewarding high-value donor relationships, and unlocking new opportunities for income growth. 

The Partnerships Manager will work directly with some of WFN’s existing portfolio of 30 Major Donors made up primarily of Trusts, Family Foundations and High-Net-Worth Individual (HNWI) supporters, with some Corporates. The Partnerships Manager will maintain close professional relationships with supporters that are bespoke and require excellent interpersonal skills, with most meetings taking place in-person, in central London.

We are seeking an Exhibitions and Collections Projects Manager to join the Crafts Council on a permanent basis. This is a vital role in the Public Programmes team to oversee the maintenance and development of Crafts Council Collections and the delivery of key temporary exhibitions.

Reporting to the Senior Collections and Programme Manager, this role will ensure the Crafts Council Collections are documented and preserved to a high standard for future generations. They will also support the strategic development of the Crafts Council’s programme, managing relationships with external commercial partners, artists and institutions, overseeing project budgets and timelines and contributing to reporting and evaluation frameworks.

This is a dynamic and hands-on role which involves working across the organisation and beyond to deliver and communicate best practice in exhibition production and collection management.

About You

• You will bring adept production and organisational skills to this role
• You will be confident leading the planning and delivery of exhibitions and collection projects working in collaboration with artists, partners, contractors and venues
• As an experienced exhibition project manager, with expertise in collection management, you will have a strong understanding of what it takes to successfully realise displays to a high standard and be familiar with collection management procedures and systems

• Facilitate accessibility of the Crafts Council Collections including Primary, Handling, Archive, Oral Histories and Library. Leading on both online accessibility via Collections Online and ensuring the collection is available to its audiences physically
• Ensure maximum impact from National Lottery Heritage Funded project 'Craft for the People' Is achieved, ensuring crafts council collection is available to a wider amount of people and is more resilient
• Oversee management of upcoming loans, arranging object transportation, entry and exit processes, loan agreements, mounting and conservation, where needed
• Lead on loans marketing and collections income generation projects
• Oversee collection management projects, including acquisitions, auditing, condition checking, improving packing, image and copyright licensing, object photography, location and movement control. Recording Information on Crafts Council's CMS Museum Index +
• Review and improve collections storage processes, embed collections trust benchmarks in security, building management system for temperature and humidity control, pest and disaster management

A typical working day is 9.15-5.30pm, including a lunch break (unpaid). With some remote work, a minimum of three days per week are to be worked at Crafts Council office and gallery.
