The role

As Forward Action’s Partnerships Officer, you’ll support the Partnerships Director to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners, so we can help them achieve change on everything from climate change to refugee rights. 

In this fast-paced role, you’ll manage the administration side of our partnerships, from initial contact and briefing, through proposal management, all the way to issuing contracts and drafting scopes. You’ll work across multiple projects and deadlines, managing processes, organising meetings, following up action points, and keeping accurate partnership records. 

You’ll champion the partner experience and ensure we always deliver value. This includes meeting with organisations to explore their goals, and briefing colleagues on new partners’ needs. You’ll also lead on our marketing and webinar programme, coordinating plans and working with colleagues and freelancers to deliver outstanding content.

Job Title:          Junior Graphic Designer

3.Collaboration:

• Work with the lead designer at Parentkind to support on projects, refine design outputs and deliver work within the Parentkind brand and to deadlines

4.Continuous learning:

Press and Media Relations Officer

The Press and Media Relations Officer represents the work of SCIE, acting as the point of contact for members of the press and other media representatives. The post holder is responsible for maintaining the profile and reputation of the charity and helping to achieve our influencing objectives with policymakers and leaders in the social care sector. Responsibilities include disseminating information to members of the press and other media to raise awareness of SCIE’s policy positions, research findings and improvement programmes. The role

The communications manager will play a central role in enhancing B Lab UK’s credibility by leveraging our corporate milestones, data, insights, partnerships and public affairs work to reach priority audiences. You will work closely with our campaigns team to influence policymakers and develop thought-leadership to make a compelling case for an alternative to business as usual. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimising B Lab UK’s press office function, including monitoring and responding to reputational risk across the B Corp movement. 

Primary responsibilities

• Drive the delivery of core components of the communication strategy, specifically owning our corporate communications, press office and acting as the first port of call for media issues management

ABOUT US
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.  We want to see a world where trees and woods thrive for people and nature. The Trust engages and inspires people to make a difference in tackling the nature and climate crises, helping protect, restore and create our vital woods and trees.  

THE ROLE
The Engagement and Communications Officer (ECO) is part of an exciting new ‘Building Capacity Project’ which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The ECO will support the Project Development Manager, project team members and local staff working in three landscape-scale project ‘hubs’ (in Argyll, Morvern and Torridon). The role will provide opportunities for audiences to connect with Scotland’s rainforest and build the skills and capacity needed to sustainably restore it. This involves working with communities, organisations and specialists to a) raise awareness of Scotland’s rainforest, b) facilitate volunteering, on-the-job training and the sharing of learning about how to restore it, and c) inspire a long-term commitment to look after it.  

The ECO will plan and deliver communications and engagement activities during the project's development phase, and support the Project Development Manager to create a comprehensive activity plan for the delivery phase.  This includes surveying audiences to benchmark attitudes; managing a launch event; using existing (or establishing new) local and regional communication channels to reach audiences and share progress; co-developing with partners a series of meaningful engagement opportunities; supporting project ‘hubs’ to develop their own communications and engagement plans and monitoring the impact of project activities.

This is an 18-month fixed-term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the ECO will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans. 

THE CANDIDATE
You will have experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders including community organisations and are comfortable collaborating and engaging effectively for different outcomes e.g. learning, consultation or facilitation. 

You will be able to confidently organise and deliver a range of events from online webinars to community gatherings; have working knowledge of using social media for marketing, capturing interesting content and writing engaging stories, and you’ll be happy self-managing a diverse and varied workload. 

Plus you’ll have experience working as part of a project team, supporting funding bids, budgeting for, and reporting on the impact of your activity. Oh and have a genuine interest in Scotland’s rainforest of course!

A full UK driving licence is required so you can travel across the west coast when required. Access to your own vehicle would be ideal.

We are seeking an experienced, media savvy, passionate and results-focussed media and campaigns professional to join our small friendly team, the one that catapulted #NoMowMay into a national phenomenon.. This role is a job share so you will enjoy working collaboratively and rolling up your sleeves to help the team across a range of communications, campaigning, engagement and fundraising disciplines and strengthening our networks and partnerships to deliver the best outcomes for nature.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has expertise in developing influential media campaigns and shares our compassion and commitment to deliver positive outcomes for nature. You will be a highly organised, motivated, curious and creative individual who is comfortable working on integrated communications and PR campaigns and working with stakeholders from across the organisation to find the story.

You will have strong influencing and networking skills, always searching for new and inventive ways to shout about Plantlife and grow our audience. You will be detail orientated and adept at managing multiple projects at once.

What will you be doing?

This is a key role within our dedicated communications team and will focus on leveraging and shaping Plantlife’s activity and presence in the media, alongside a job share colleague. You will support the Head of Communications and Engagement with the leadership, planning and delivery of Plantlife’s media strategy to raise awareness, engage stakeholders and drive support for our cause.

This role will support our campaigning activity in the UK and internationally and will be one of Plantlife key external voices, playing a pivotal role in shaping our key messages. Working across the organisation and with colleagues leading our conservation, advocacy, and partnerships work you will keep abreast of key organisational activities and create opportunities for media and campaigning.

We are offering the role as hybrid or home based. We have offices in Salisbury or Retford. There will be an expectation of some travel to attend monthly team meetings

Role Summary    

This exciting role will enable Alcohol Change UK to reach millions of people across the UK with key messages about alcohol and alcohol harm, delivered through print, online, and broadcast media engagement tactics. With a high level of existing press interest in our work and campaigns (including our flagship Dry January® campaign), this is an exciting moment as we look to develop our proactive media engagement and share reframed stories about alcohol which resonate with a huge audience. Your work will drive significant awareness of our organisation, and ultimately enable millions of people to transform their relationship with alcohol.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities    

Media engagement  

• Manage the organisation’s media inbox and phone line, handling enquiries from journalists and providing responses in a timely manner

• Provide regular out of hours media cover on a rota basis (scaling depending on busier campaign periods, shared fairly with others and TOIL provided for hours worked)

• Develop public media statements and quotes across the whole spectrum of Alcohol Change UK’s work, issuing to press both reactively and proactively

• Provide ongoing development of our key lines library, regularly reviewing responses we have on file for a range of topics 

• Support Alcohol Change UK spokespeople (Chief Executive, Directors and others) prepare for interviews: developing tailored briefings ahead of opportunities, providing a sounding board to rehearse key lines when required and giving feedback on appearances to support ongoing development

• Manage our media database and reporting tools, providing regular condensed reports for the Director of Communications and Marketing/CEO/Board and develop insights-gathering to better inform our media engagement strategy

• With the Director of Communications and Marketing, play a key role in media crisis management, escalating issues as appropriate, suggesting solutions and developing organisational responses to sensitive situations

• Support the deployment of Alcohol Change UK voices, working closely with the Engagement Team to identify Community Champions, Ambassadors and others who are happy to be supported to share their experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm with the media

Developing a new proactive media strategy  

• Plan and deliver a new strategy for generating proactive media coverage, where Alcohol Change UK’s research, campaigns, parliamentary and wider activity connect with larger audiences in a strategic way

• Working closely with teams across the organisation, craft compelling media plans and press releases to generate coverage of our work

• Bring fresh energy to opportunity spotting, securing opinion pieces, expert comment, letters to editors and other ‘newsjacking’ content – particularly on ‘culture change’ topics such as sober shaming and stigma 

• Manage relationships with key journalists in our sector, exploring opportunities for partnerships and exclusives

Campaign media activity  

• Particularly for our flagship Dry January® campaign, and with the support of the Director of Communications and Marketing, develop media support briefs for external media agencies, when required 

• Develop fresh strategies and media angles for annual campaigns (Dry January®, Sober Spring, Alcohol Awareness Week) to keep activity engaging for public and returning audiences

• Think creatively to craft media strategies which are tailored to reach segmented audience groups, aligning with targets for individual campaigns to reach under-served communities 

• Provide detailed campaign media evaluations, insights and learning reports

Other    

You will also be expected to:    

• Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’ 

• Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies 

• Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it 

• Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times 

• Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times 

• Work flexible hours as necessary to meet the needs of the charity, time off in lieu (TOIL) will be earnt for any work required outside of normal working hours 

I’m looking for an experienced & diligent Communications Manager to join a multifaceted arts & community charity, based in numerous centres across London. You will bring an understanding of London arts scenes, ideally the alternative arts scene. The role can be offered as either part-time, or full-time, and is permanent.  

• Web & social media management
• PR, press relations
• 3 / 4 or 5 days a week

The charity operates as a solution for otherwise vacant property, through charitable occupation. This can range from short term 18 months to 3 years or longer term 3 – 10 years. They currently have over 500 affordable artist workspaces, and 5 project spaces where they provide a programme of arts and educational events.

As Communications Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of the website, creating compelling content and taking a lead role in the delivery of proactive media relations. I’m looking to speak to a strategic thinker who can see the bigger picture, manage multiple projects, but also has strong attention to detail diligently managing creative outlets such as their online presence and creative posters and flyers.

Ways of Working:
