Domestic Violence Advocacy Project

Since April 2020, we have observed a 400% increase in clients experiencing domestic abuse. Our Domestic Violence Advocacy Project is designed to help us meet this increased demand. Supported with funding from the London Community Response Fund, we are looking to employ a specialist adviser for a four-month period to embed good practice in the organisation.

We are looking for specialist adviser who can offer casework to people experiencing domestic abuse/ violence in Redbridge, which has increased exponentially since the onset of the pandemic. The successful candidate will also enable our organisation to increase capacity to support these client groups by providing staff and volunteers with enhanced training.

Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. We give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. We help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights.

Our advice services are delivered largely by volunteers and depend on effective recruitment, retention, support and training. Under lockdown, and to maintain a Covid-safe environment for our clients, staff and volunteers, we are all working remotely, providing advice via phone, email and webchat. To help us reach new clients and assist Redbridge residents to cope with enormous pressures arising from the pandemic, we have been successful in securing some short-term funding to support some time limited projects.

Closing Date for all positions: Wednesday, 25 November

Interview Dates: 27 and 30 November

Immediate start required.
