About the role

The Research and Programmes Coordinator role involves:

• Overseeing administrative tasks for all research projects
• Supporting the Programme Development Team Lead in management of all research projects
• Liaising with the Support Coach team to connect with facilitators/parents for data collection e.g. supporting with the running of focus groups
• Using Kids Matter’s CRM to confidently record communication with consultants and Research Assistants
• Supporting the data gathering process for all our evaluation data including maintaining data integrity by performing regular data audits and cleaning parent data ready for the Research Assistants to analyse

Working closely with the prison and their staff, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising peer opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.  

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and possess personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based, working 3 days per week. Elders Voice is a charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Brent. Our mission is to enable older people to live safely and independently in the homes of their choosing and lead happier and healthier lives. The Handyperson Service is our flagship service; it’s been in existence for 35 years and is highly valued by the older people who use it. The service aims to prevent accidents in the home and enable older people to live safely by carrying out basic repairs and improvements, and the installation of small equipment such as grab rails, which support mobility. Jobs include things like changing lightbulbs, hanging curtains and putting up shelves. Our handy team have decades of experience between them, and an exceptional reputation in the borough.

We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using our CRM (IMIS) and XERO, in addition to administration support.

You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.

You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:

Financial operations and record-keeping

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
• Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
• Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
• Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)
• Handle creditor and supplier communications and resolve related issues
• Monitor and follow up on overdue payments with a focus on membership payments

Invoicing and income tracking

• Issue and track membership and subscriber invoices and reminders
• Keep office team informed of payment statuses
• Prepare sales, cost, and profit reports for SLA publications

Payroll and reporting

• Liaise with the accountant on salary payments; process salary BACS payments
• Support year-end financial reporting by providing necessary documentation to accountants

 Event financial administration

• Manage financial aspects of SLA events, particularly the annual conference (e.g., exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates)

ROLE OVERVIEW:
 
The Supporter Care Fundraiser will be responsible for providing exceptional stewardship and support to our valued supporters, including donors and volunteers (committee members and non-committee members). This role will ensure that our supporters feel appreciated, informed and engaged with RABI’s work, ultimately helping to strengthen relationships and encourage continued giving. This position is crucial to maintaining long-term, meaningful connections with donors and ensuring they feel a sense of connection to RABI’s purpose.
With a strong focus on relationship management and supporter stewardship, the Supporter Care Fundraiser will help drive the growth of community-led fundraising initiatives. Working alongside both central and regional volunteer teams, this role will be pivotal in supporting RABI to achieve its ambitious £10 million fundraising goal over the next five years.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Supporter Stewardship: Provide high-quality, personalised care and attention to supporters, ensuring they feel valued and recognised for their contributions. Respond promptly and professionally to all enquiries and support requests via email, telephone and post.
Donation Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of donations, ensuring that all records are updated in the CRM system and acknowledged and thanked appropriately.
Engagement and Retention: Develop and implement agreed strategies to engage and retain supporters, including regular communications through thank-you letters and phone calls. Work to build ongoing loyalty and support from supporters.
Campaign Support: Assist with fundraising campaigns and initiatives by providing supporter-facing materials, ensuring clear communication and helping to create opportunities for supporters to engage in fundraising activities.
Supporter Communication: Coordinate and manage supporter correspondence, including sending out personalised thank-you notes, acknowledgement letters and updates on the impact of donations. Ensure that supporters are kept informed about RABI’s work and how their support is making a difference.
Event Coordination: Assist with the planning and execution of events (e.g. agricultural shows, community and corporate events), virtual or in-person, to ensure supporters feel appreciated and connected to RABI’s purpose.
Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate supporter records and provide regular reports on donor activity, feedback and engagement. Help identify trends and opportunities for improving supporter satisfaction and retention.
Feedback and Improvements: Gather feedback from supporters and analyse donor satisfaction to continually improve the supporter experience and identify areas for development in our stewardship strategy.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Fundraising and Volunteer teams to ensure alignment between supporter care efforts and broader fundraising strategies. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that supporter care is integrated into all aspects of RABI’s operations.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, GDPR and best practice standards, upholding RABI’s commitment to ethical and legal fundraising.
Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations, analysing successes and areas for improvement. Provide detailed reports on fundraising outcomes and gather feedback from participants to inform future event improvements.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments (Marketing and Communications, Service Delivery, Volunteering and Finance, etc) to align community fundraising efforts.
 
Essential
 
Proven experience in a similar supporter care, donor relations or customer service, ideally within the non-profit or charity sector.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of supporters, stakeholders and volunteers.
Friendly, empathetic and personable, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide a positive experience for all supporters.
High attention to detail, particularly in supporter records, donation processing and communication.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
Ability to resolve issues or concerns raised by supporters in a timely and professional manner, ensuring donor satisfaction.

Now Teach is at a pivotal time in its strategic journey, following a hugely successful media and bridging fundraising campaign that has raised over £3m in new income for 2024-2026 and achieved 32 media mentions (15 national) and 2.5m PR views. We are now seeking to significantly grow our donor base and fundraised income and therefore are looking to recruit to this new role. We are seeking someone who can support the Director of Philanthropy and Communications to deliver our strategy to increase income through the recruitment of new donors and enable and deliver work with our current funders (primarily individuals and trusts). You’ll be the person to ensure they have an amazing experience as supporters of Now Teach.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Role overview 

This role will be varied and offer lots of opportunities to get stuck into managing relationships with high value donors. Both the CEO, and the Director of Fundraising and Communications will work to steward the relationships with our donors in person, while this role will lead on delivering high-quality preparation, proposals, reporting, and data management that underpin donor relationships. You will also contribute to building connections across teams and aligning fundraising activities with Now Teach’s wider strategy. 

You’ll deliver exciting and engaging communications and events which inspire our donors to continue to support our cause, as well as be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting so we can give supporters a great sense of the impact their donations make. This role will work on a combination of externally facing and internal projects and tasks and will be a great way to advance your career in fundraising.

In this role you will…

• Create and maintain a stewardship calendar of content, reports, and events to engage our donors, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities. 

• Write and produce proposals and applications for funding from major donors and trusts, in collaboration with programme and recruitment teams, championing user-centred thinking by representing participant and school impact in fundraising materials. 

• Write and produce reports with in-depth detail of what we have achieved as a result of the funding from our donors 

• Create an engaging termly supporter newsletter, sharing insights across the organisation to drive stronger engagement. 

• Manage and own the fundraising database, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and supporting colleagues to use data effectively. 

• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting of gifts 

• Ensure compliance with fundraising legislation, charity law and data protection legislation like GDPR 

PERSON SPECFICIATION 

Who you are (qualities/values) 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising crucial funds to ensure that Now Teachers, schools, partners, and the wider education system can realise the full potential of career changers in education.

You'll have an eye for detail and be able to deliver written communications to the highest standard, including working with our communications teams to develop and deliver engaging case studies and proposals for support. You’ll be happy working to deadlines, and spotting and responding creatively to opportunities that arise. You’ll be able to build strong external and internal relationships and enjoy the challenge of raising money to support our amazing work.

What you’ll need to succeed in this role (experience/qualifications etc) 

• Some experience of working in charities, ideally in education, and/ or  in fundraising 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• An ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks, multi-task and stay organised. 

• An ability to understand and assist with financial reporting 

• Knowledge of fundraising legislation and best practices 

• An ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Isis. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based.
