We are looking for an Evidence & Insight Analyst to support the delivery of the Crohn’s & Colitis UK Evidence and Insight programme, delivering evidence and insight across the whole range of experience of all those affected by Crohn’s and Colitis to support the strategic aims of Crohn’s & Colitis UK. 

The role

This role requires translation of quantitative and qualitative data into clear, actionable insights and stories that can be communicated effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the charity. The role also includes supporting the Evidence & Insight (E&I) team with the collation of existing evidence,  working with external agencies and partners to support the delivery of targeted E&I projects, developing networks, and horizon scanning across the sector to keep up to date on E&I programmes. The post-holder will have key involvement in supporting the communication of the  E&I team’s work across the charity by developing and coordinating a centralised resource for up-to-date reports, findings, and statistics.  The post holder will also contribute strategically to Evidence & Insight operations and documentation.

About you

We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, who has a creative approach to exploring data.Ideally you will have already had experience of working in the charity or non-profit sectors and have strong analytical and technical skills including an understanding of CRM systems, conducting statistical analysis such as regression and hypothesis testing and be proficient in data management and manipulation using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, SPSS, R or similar.  You will be adept at working collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders to support the delivery of targeted projects and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities.

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. The charity meets four times a year at its office in Hatfield for our mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days. We also have 2 in person Directorate days a year and occasional team 'away days'.

We have one permanent Funding Officer position in the Yorkshire and the Humber regional team.

Join us as a Funding Officer and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the region. Working as part of the Yorkshire and the Humber team as part of a team of 20 colleagues you will combine hybrid working - either from home, our Leeds office adjacent to Leeds station, or project visits, to understand how and where amazing people and organisations are transforming neighbourhoods.

If you have previous experience for a funder, then that is great but it’s not a necessity.

• You will need to be confident with comprehension and writing because you will be working with those applying for grants to advise and support them as necessary to develop proposals including project budgets.
   
• You’ll work with your colleagues to assess and recommend projects for funding. Some days you’ll be attending funders fairs, in person or online, whilst on others you may be meeting with Councils or other funders to share information about need and funding in a particular neighbourhood.
   
• You’ll also have responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure they are on track. If you have experience of the voluntary sector that would be ideal, particularly in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
   
• Confident in writing, comprehension and with an understanding of budgets you will be passionate about supporting communities to build on their strengths to improve lives.

Essential criteria

• Communication skills: Strong report writing skills to produce concise, written recommendations for assessment purposes within strict timescales. Listening and verbal communication skills also important.
   
• Analytical skills: Ability to assess a high volume of applications, make good judgements, challenge when appropriate and manage risk.
   
• Relational skills: Ability to nurture, develop and promote effective relationships and communication with colleagues, community organisations and other external agencies with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
   
• An ability to adapt quickly, decisively and with full commitment to new processes and systems and the confidence to use your judgement, take initiative and challenge when appropriate.
   
• Demonstrable IT skills and the ability to learn detailed processes quickly and accurately

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of Yorkshire and the Humber and the charity sector within it. Experience working with under-represented communities in the region is particularly desirable.
   
• Understanding of financial planning and business plans, ability to analyse accounts and numerical data.
   
• An ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include: 

• Working with the Senior Fundraising Manager to develop an individual giving strategy that increases donor acquisition, engagement, and income.
• Serving as the CRM Administrator, overseeing its effective use and development for the Fundraising Team
• Project managing our bi-annual individual giving appeals, working with colleagues to design inspiring campaigns that generate six-figure income.
• Promoting our legacy case for support, and securing new pledges, as part of supporters’ journeys with Julian House.

Qualifications / Requirements: 

• Experience of leading fundraising activity relating to individual giving, regular giving and / or legacies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent your organisation to a range of stakeholders and create high-quality written content for fundraising.
• Knowledge of the homelessness or social inclusion sectors would be desirable, but not essential.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a successful Major Giving team at The King’s Trust, within the wider Philanthropy directorate, enabling us to grow our support for young people across the region. What the job involves

We’re looking for a Black Health Equity Engagement Officer to join our Black Health Equity and Engagement team. The team plays a key role in supporting our community engagement work by building trust and strengthening relationships with Black community organisations and leaders across the UK. The aim is to raise awareness of prostate cancer risk within Black communities and help reduce the health inequalities experienced by Black men.

As a Black Health Equity Engagement Officer, you’ll be providing the logistical support to Prostate Cancer UK’s Black Men’s Advisory Group - who provide insights, support and guidance to the charity to help us address Black health equity. You’ll attend a wide range of community events and identify ways to spread awareness and build trusting relationships with groups, organisations and networks.

By building an understanding of the ways which health inequalities impact Black men affected by prostate cancer (and their families) you’ll establish effective and efficient working practices and gather data capturing the impact of this work.

You’ll get to meet a wide range of supporters and work with Black communities to ensure their lived experiences shape our work and help to increase our number of Black volunteers to increase awareness. You’ll also get to work with different teams across the charity and act as a source of knowledge for our work in tackling health inequalities. 

What we want from you

We’re looking for candidates who understand health inequalities and is able to explain how they may impact Black men affected by prostate cancer. Knowledge of, or previous involvement in health awareness initiatives would be beneficial for this role, although we also value transferable skills gained from other sectors.

You’ll have experience in organising meetings or events that cater to a diverse range of participants, ensuring that various perspectives are heard and valued, especially within Black communities. 

You’ll have a proven ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with a wide array of stakeholders. Furthermore, you’ll be a great communicator, especially when engaging with community stakeholders.

Please note that community events often take place on evenings or weekends – the successful candidate will need to work flexibly to attend roughly one weekend event a month and take time back mid-week. Community awareness events will take place in the Midlands and London.

Funding Officer – Thematic and missions focused aligned to It starts with Community

We’re looking for four Funding Officers to support a range of initiatives across England. These are 12-month fixed term contracts.

Role Purpose

About the role

Role

As a Senior Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to deliver a range of projects within the Advisory team. Reporting directly to the Head of Advisory, you will be responsible for:

• Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage credibly with a diverse range of people and organisations including marginalised communities and senior leaders from public, commercial and community organisations.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
