We are looking for a compassionate and organised Referrals Practitioner to join our team and play a vital role in welcoming new residents into recovery. For this recruitment cycle, we particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of recovery and/or the criminal justice system, as well as those from underrepresented ethnic groups and diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

About the Role

The Referrals Practitioner supports all aspects of our referral process – from handling enquiries and assessing applications to ensuring smooth, safe, and supportive arrivals for new residents. Working alongside the Referrals Coordinator, you will:

• Respond to referrals and enquiries with professionalism and compassion
• Carry out assessments in line with Nehemiah’s admissions procedures
• Build relationships with referral agencies, prisons, and community partners
• Provide feedback to applicants and agencies on referral outcomes
• Arrange and support resident arrivals, including prison gate pickups where required
• Help ensure our houses remain safe, positive recovery environments
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and monitoring

This is a varied role where no two days are the same – you might be assessing an application one morning, presenting to a prison referral team in the afternoon, and welcoming a new resident from the community the next day.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who is:

• Experienced in working with vulnerable adults in recovery, the criminal justice system, or related fields (paid, voluntary, or lived)
• Skilled in communication, with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents, partners, and colleagues
• Organised and confident using IT systems (ideally including Salesforce or similar CRM tools)
• Able to demonstrate resilience and empathy in challenging situations
• Understanding of addiction recovery and safeguarding principles
• NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent experience (including lived experience)

Horatio’s Garden is a nationwide charity creating and nurturing beautifully designed gardens in NHS spinal injury centres. We are seeking two creative, dynamic people with warm and welcoming personalities for the roles of Patient Support Coordinator, one for each of the following locations:

• Horatio's Garden Midlands, The Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries
• Horatio’s Garden Scotland, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

You will be responsible for organising and running a range of social and creative activities for people with spinal injuries and their families and friends to enjoy during the week and at weekends, creating an uplifting, friendly atmosphere in Horatio’s Garden and garden room.

Currently the programme includes crafts, quizzes, glass fusing workshops, felting, printing, talks, painting, ceramic workshops, seasonal celebrations with lunches, baking, live music performances and social afternoons. 

You will need to be a highly organised person who is confident working independently in the garden and via Teams with the Events Programme Manager, Evie Redwood. The role is part-time, 10.5 hours a week, consisting of one weekend afternoon (approx. 4 hours), a weekday afternoon workshop (approx. 3.5 hours) and 3 hours of admin time a week. You will need to be flexible with your availability, working when patients are available – this can vary. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-driven, proactive individual who is efficient, well-organised and has an outgoing personality. You will need to be adaptable and happy working with a wide range of stakeholders including people with spinal injuries and their families, NHS staff, volunteers and many different teams within the charity.

Key responsibilities for the role of Patient Support Coordinator include:

· Creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging people with spinal injuries and their families to engage in the Events Programme that is organised in the garden.

· Asking patients what activities they would like to do.

· Working virtually with the Events Programme team to plan activities that reflect patients’ requests.

· Going into the wards to help patients to come out to the garden and garden room in hospital beds or wheelchairs. You will have training for this.

· Hosting creative workshops in the garden, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.

· Running arts and craft sessions yourself, organising social activities and writing quizzes so a creative flair is essential.

· Booking high-quality speakers, entertainers and freelance creative people to run sessions.

· Working alongside session facilitators to support them. 

· Coordinating catering arrangements and serving food and drinks.

· Making posters and updating blackboards to promote activities, as well as   advertising the sessions via word of  mouth.

· Building relationships with NHS teams in the spinal unit.

· Handling the administrative side of the role, including risk assessments, ordering materials and budget-monitoring.

· Collecting feedback from patients, their visitors and NHS staff during and after the sessions.

The Edinburgh International Festival is looking for two Development Officers to help us present this unparalleled celebration of the performing arts, which brings some of the most exciting and creative artists working today to audiences from around the world. 

We are seeking two relationship-driven and detail-oriented people to join our Development team as our new Philanthropy and Partnerships Officers.

The Philanthropy Officer will deliver and grow the Festival’s successful membership schemes, nurture supporter relationships, deliver engaging fundraising events and strategic donor communications, and design and implement creative and revenue-generating appeals and  initiatives. With support from the Individual Giving Manager, you will work collaboratively across the Development team in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and creativity, as well as excellent time-management, communication and administrative skills.

We are also looking to recruit a Partnerships Officer who will join a team responsible for managing and growing relationships with corporate, international, and strategic partners. You will support the delivery of high-quality partnership management across all stages—from proposal development and reporting to stewardship and event coordination. You’ll also take ownership of a portfolio of entry-level partners and can build your skills through hands-on experience.

Background and purpose

We are the only UK-wide charity for everyone affected by a genetic and acquired bleeding disorder. 

At the Haemophilia Society (THS) we want to empower everyone affected by a bleeding disorder to live life to the full, whatever your stage in life.

One in 2,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, which are a group of conditions, including haemophilia and von Willebrand disorder, that result when the blood cannot clot properly. 

As many as a third of bleeding disorder diagnoses have no known family history and can be the result of a random gene mutation. This means a bleeding disorder diagnosis can come completely out of the blue.

THS brings together people with bleeding disorders and their families to share experiences and understand more about how to live well with a bleeding disorder. Together, we can all make a difference.

About the role

We’re incredibly lucky to have a generous and dedicated community who are always looking for new ways to support our work. We are looking for a passionate fundraiser who can take ownership of our community fundraising and empower our members and supporters in their fundraising ventures. You’ll act as the face of THS for people looking to raise money in a variety of wonderful ways – ensuring they have what they need to be as successful as possible. This will include managing a number of key events such as the London Marathon, Ride London and Swim Serpentine. 

This role would be ideal for someone with 2-3 years’ experience and looking to take the next step in their fundraising career. As part of a small team, you’ll be excited about getting involved in all areas of community and events fundraising, building relationships with our members and driving our fundraising strategy forward. 

The purpose of the role is to:

Community Fundraising

·Supporting and running the community fundraising activities - engaging our centres, signing up new members, stewarding our donors, being the key point of our enquiries

·Organisation and delivery of mass participation events

·Providing guidance and supporting participants in promoting their efforts on social media

• Provide guidance and support for supporters undertaking community fundraising and act as a key first point of call. Developing and improving the supporter journey with new materials.
