About the role:
The finance assistant is part of the Finance and Resources function and reports to the Head of Finance. The role has responsibility for ensuring all accounts receivable and payable transactions are processed, recorded and completed. This is a key role for the Finance function to ensure organisational decision making is robust.
Purpose of the role:
Supporting the Head of Finance to ensure the organisation’s finances are accurate, compliant and up to date with responsibility for processing financial transactions. This includes maintaining financial records, preparing reports, ensuring the integrity of the finance system and managing customer accounts. The role also has responsibility for a broad range of financial administrative tasks and works collaboratively with a range of stakeholders providing financial support, advice and solutions.

This exciting part time Finance Assistant role will report to the senior Finance Manager and will support the finance team in delivering effective and timely service.
The existing finance team is a small team so you’re duties will be varied allowing you great exposure to all areas of operational accounting.
Your day to day duties as part time Finance Assistant will include;
- Processing all accounts payable invoices, including accurately inputting invoices
- Investigating and resolving all and any discrepancies
- Ensuring correct authorisation of all invoices and payment
- Preparing and processing monthly supplier payment runs
- Providing supplier remittance advice when required
- Reviewing and reconciling supplier statements
- Correctly strong correct invoices on files via Sharepoint
- Creating new supplier accounts
- Assist with annual membership renewals
- Raising sales ledger invoices when required
- Chasing payments
- Record and reconcile web sales
- Processing direct debit collections
- Reconcile all credit card expenses
- Process all staff expenses
- Assist with Year End Audit
- Complete all monthly bank statement and control accounts reconciliation
The skills you will bring your role as part time Finance Assistant will include;
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, debits and credits
- Working knowledge of an accounting system such as Sage Line 50
- Prior experience in similar ideally in a charity sector
- Ability to work in a varied role with strict deadlines

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing and regulatory body for horseracing in Great Britain. The Finance department are looking to recruit an integral new role as Finance, Grants and Contracts Business Partner, reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner.
This role will manage all BHA led and coordinated stakeholder grant applications to industry funders (including HBLB, Racing Foundation). This will involve managing the grant process from application through to drawdown and reporting to funders (including coordinating KPIs). Support with internal monthly management accounts reporting, as well as the key industry forums such as the Industry Programme Board.
You will be responsible in leading the proactive management of the BHA’s major contracts including LGC (equine drug testing) and Weatherby’s (Racing administration).
Operational finance support will also be required for routine monthly transactional posting, Ad-hoc finance department tasks and projects including support of business partners.
The successful candidate will be highly organised with an ability to multitask and deal with high volumes of work. You will be able to gain an understanding of the wider team’s deadlines to ensure tasks are completed within desired timeframes, while maintaining a calm demeanour. You will have the ability to deliver high quality customer service and excellent attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Being an enthusiastic team player, with a good sense of humour is also desirable.

Finance Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Shoreditch, East London
Salary: £27,008 (pro rata to £16,205 for 22.5 hours per week)

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Finance Assistant will play a vital role in the day-to-day financial administration of the charity. You will manage transactions using QuickBooks, process invoices and payments, assist with payroll, support the preparation for audit, and maintain accurate financial records. You'll also help us improve our financial systems as we continue to grow and adapt.
This role also includes occasional receptionist cover, so we’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and adaptable.

About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East Rivers Trust's Finance and Operations Team. We are a small dynamic team, sitting at the heart of the organisation. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation. The successful applicant will come from a financial background with a strong understanding of financial principles, an accounting qualification and proficiency in Excel. They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses.
The role would suit an individual, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team. The role involves liaising and following up with all teams to ensure the data provided is accurate and timely, to support grant applications, payments and audit requirements.
To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, be proactive and have excellent communication skills, following up and advising staff across all teams. They will need to have a positive attitude, and willingness to assist the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required. This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week, (on a Thursday), working in the office in Leatherhead.
This is a part time position, (of 3 or 4 days per week), to include Monday and Thursday (this being our in office day). There may be a requirement to pick up additional hours to support with busy periods.
