The role of Financial Controller is mainly remote however you will be expected to travel to the Central Finance Office in Stourbridge to meet with your team and other relevant locations on occasion.

We’re hoping to hear from those that can provide financial leadership and effective management of the Trusts financial operations including AR, AP, Treasury and Payroll and Fixed Assets, that can ensure the delivery of a proactive and professional customer focused service, ensuring finance deadlines, and legislative and statutory requirements are met.

You’ll work closely with the wider organization, building strong internal relationships to ensure the effective management of financial resources.

Main responsibilities:

oOversee the month end process, working closely with all finance staff.

oWorking closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners with the preparation and consolidation of the monthly management accounts.

oSupport the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners during the annual budget cycle and ensure all budgets are agreed and implemented on the accounting system.

oManage the external audit and the year-end processes and complete statutory financial statements to draft stage in accordance with the Charities SORP including all working papers.

oEnsure efficient and effective financial control operates throughout the Trust, ensuring all regional and central financial activities comply with legislation, policies, procedures and the delegated authorities.

oActively oversee the management of the Trust payroll function (including pensions) ensuring compliance with legislation and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of employee pay and third-party payments.

oManage and administer the Trust bank accounts, credit cards, and cash flow.

oProject Management.

Who we are looking for

oProfessional Accounting qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAEW or Part Qualified (Final year) or equivalent degree OR In-depth QBE with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar senior finance role within the charity sector.

oExperience of people management within the finance functions.

oKnowledge of payroll practice and a full understanding of HMRC requirements.

oExperience of preparing statutory accounts and working papers and proven success working with auditors and managing the audit process.

oAble to demonstrate a proven track record in all aspects of accounts e.g preparation management accounts, budgets, balance sheet reconciliation and forecasts.

oExperience of Treasury management including cashflow forecasting & monitoring.

oExperience of preparing VAT returns.

oAdvanced User of different accounting packages.

oConfident User of MS Office 365, in particular Excel (intermediate/advanced level), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.

oExperience of managing finance projects (e.g. new systems)

oKnowledge & understanding of internal controls & accounting processes.

oPrevious experience in an accounting role in the Charity or Housing or Care Sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.

oUnderstanding of the Charity SORP.

We lead on the development of safe, effective work with perpetrators, male victims, and young people using violence in their close relationships.As the Policy, Public Affairs and Communications Manager for the Drive Partnership, you will lead our efforts to ensure that those with the ability to make change, because of the funding or policy making role they hold, understand the aims and vision of the Drive Partnership and what our data, practice expertise and the voice of survivors is telling us about how to stop domestic abuse in the UK. In this role, offered a permanent post subject to funding, you will lead a team of two staff, develop our policy influencing capacity and support our national rollout of ground-breaking interventions to stop domestic abuse. You will also take responsibility for improving our internal communications, enhancing our reputation and supporting communications and relationships across the extensive Drive network of partners and beyond. The post holder will lead on the hospital discharge work, regularly working out of St Georges hospital alongside the discharge team and hospital social care teams, providing information and support to Carers navigating the hospital discharge process.   

To provide safety planning, support, advice and assistance to women and their children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge.

The focus of this role is on preventing domestic abuse by provide support, advice and assistance to adults and their children affected by domestic abuse and are staying in refuge/safe accommodation and ensure that they are provided with secure, high-quality accommodation. 

The post-holder will work to empower and support women and children to make positive choices and will establish resettlement services to support women and children to move on from refuge/safe accommodation.

About Us

Advocacy Support Cymru (ASC) is a registered charity with offices in Cardiff and Swansea. We provide Independent Mental Health and Mental Capacity Advocacy Services across most of South Wales, employing 44 employees.

About the role

The post holder will provide support to clients who lack capacity and to implement the safeguards of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 or the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. They will provide non-instructed advocacy (NIA) support to people who lack capacity to make specific decisions and who have no-one else to support them. The successful candidate will travel efficiently and effectively within the Advocacy Support Cymru area of operation.

There are multiple posts available covering the Swansea Bay and / or Hywel Dda Health Board Areas.

About you

You will have significant experience working with vulnerable adults and/or children, either within health or social care setting, or indirectly, for example as a carer. You will understand and have experience of working effectively in an intra-agency context with Health and Social Care Professionals. Knowledge of the role of the Independent Mental Capacity Advocate as defined in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential.

Previous direct experience in the role would be preferred but training will be provided.

Working closely with Age UK's Network of 120+ local and independent Age UK partners, this role will support the delivery of projects across their life cycle, ranging from the implementation of funder-led reporting requirements to liaising with partners on the impact the project has had on their beneficiaries.

The successful candidate would enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to ensure the successful delivery of the projects. You will carry out a range of duties to assist the team in the coordination, planning, monitoring, and delivery of the Programme. The role

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our regional programme staff and a global network of over 35 partners, providing technical design and digital product support and developing projects in line with partner and donor requirements.

In this interim role, you will support KTI’s Digital and Design team in implementing the core programme design strategy, including our digital products, working alongside the Director of Delivery and Impact and with the Senior Leadership Team. You will work closely with regional functions within the programmes team, supporting the delivery of high-quality programmes and digital platforms for our young people across 20 countries via a network of in-country delivery partners.

In this fixed-term maternity cover position, you will lead and manage a team of technical programme design, content and digital product experts, ensuring that KTI’s strategic goals and objectives are met and that regional programmes are effectively and efficiently supported.

The Digital and Design team is a central function within KTI, working closely alongside Impact and Safeguarding teams to support the delivery of global and regional frameworks and tools for our programmes. In this role you would be responsible for ensuring best practice for programme design and digital product development are prioritised in our regional delivery, as well as in the global tools and processes which inform and guide our work with young people.

You will have extensive experience of leading and managing high-performing teams to deliver impactful quality programmes. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to adapt your communication style to diverse audiences both in the UK and internationally, with a strong understanding of youth-centred design practices and an appreciation of the use of technology for development. A team player, you will work well across teams with a proactive and solutions-focused attitude. Skills in organisation and collaboration are key, you will be confident in bringing together project teams to drive the best outcomes for young people both on and offline.
