The Jewish Museum London has undergone substantial positive change over the past two years, moving out of our Camden site and moving to a ‘Museum without Walls’ model.  The museum is building a new strategy that will lead its transformation over the next 10 years as it tests out innovative new models for exhibitions, displays, learning and engagement, building towards a new permanent site and dynamic operational model.  Learning and engagement are central to the museum’s future.  This new role will support the learning and engagement team by coordinating bookings, marketing and communications for the team.

Our museum is made up of passionate and expert staff and a collection of over 40,000 objects which are both accredited and designated with Outstanding status by Arts Council England. Our learning programmes hold multiple awards, and our visitor feedback is consistently very high, however, we have much bigger ambitions than our current success. The Museum is looking to expand, in space, in profile and in audience reach. We are looking for someone passionate about our potential to coordinate the day-to-day running of the learning team as we move forward to the next phase of the Jewish Museum London.

Reporting to the Head of Learning the appointed candidate will have the organisational and administrative skills to ensure the team can effectively deliver programmes for schools, families and communities as well as taking a lead on communicating the museum’s activity through social media, newsletters and the website.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The main role of the Learning and Communications Coordinator will be to administrate the activities of the learning department, in particular our flagship programme of schools workshops both in person and digitally. Excellent communication skills are required as this role will involve being the first point of contact for the department, responding to queries, liaising with teachers, taking bookings and sending out pre- and post- activity information.  You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of this busy and creative team by providing, general administration, organisational and hands-on practical support—invoicing, ordering materials and supplies, auditing resources, collating and recording evaluation data and transporting materials and equipment for our outreach, offsite events and workshops.  Digital learning and communications are central to how we engage our audiences so the post holder will need to a good level of social media and technical literacy in order to update learning and events sections on the website, support the delivery of virtual workshops, coordinate the social media working group and create newsletters.

Learning programme bookings and coordination

· To be the first point of contact for all enquiries about learning programme activities and the main contact for liaising with teachers and taking bookings

· Co-ordinate and administrate all bookings for the schools outreach, virtual and broadcast programmes—from taking bookings and booking facilitators through to invoicing and evaluation

· Organise bookings, delivery and return of museum loan boxes

· Audit and prepare the handling collection for workshops

· Close collaboration with the Senior Learning Producer: Schools to assign learning team members and freelancers to workshops including leading on contracting and financial administration of freelance facilitators

· Support with organising and delivery of informal and community learning activities and events including the Curious Minds Dementia Friendly programme and family learning events

· General support and assistance for activities and programmes as required

Team Administration

· Managing the team’s calendar of activity

· Ensure that bookings spreadsheets and databases including Raisers Edge, Artifax, Excel sheets and Monday Boards are kept up to date and accurate

· Collating statistics and data for reporting

· Maintain the carbon calculator tracking for the team

· Order any resources, materials, equipment and travel (such as oyster cards, train tickets and taxis) for the team

· Coordinate room bookings and generating zoom links for workshops, meetings and activities

· Set up regular team meetings as required, circulating minutes/ action points and ensuring follow up actions are taken

· Work with finance to ensure that schools workshops and activities are invoiced and to coordinate payment of freelancers

· Help ensure good communication throughout the team and organisation

Digital and Communications

As Senior Disability Coordinator you will plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs. You will coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and sufficient staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs, and will assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing development of the Disability staff team. You will h ave responsibility for processing new referrals, initial assessments, individual care plans and any associated risk assessments or specialist plans to ensure individual needs are met.

This exciting and rewarding role will require a passion for working with SEND as well as excellent coordination skills to manage the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services. Role Description

The role of a programme coordinator is ensuring the smooth running of all programme related events. Key Responsibilities

As Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

• Project and administrative support:
  • Assisting the Project Manager with coordinating project logistics, including scheduling, booking spaces, and organising refreshments.
  • Updating project budgets and submitting invoices to the Bookkeeper.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in planning and delivering performances, exhibitions, and events.
  • Managing the materials inventory and sourcing environmentally friendly resources for workshops.
• Project promotion and participant engagement:
  • Helping to manage communication with participants and partners.
  • Assisting with volunteer coordination.
  • Supporting participant recruitment efforts for projects.
  • Helping to raise Magic Me’s profile by sharing images and stories for social media content.
• ​Monitoring, evaluation and reporting:
  • Assisting the Project Manager with data collection for project feedback and ensuring continuous learning.
  • Supporting the programme and development teams with preparing reports for funders and internal use.
  • Assisting with reporting by keeping accurate records of participant engagement and feedback.
• Administration and team collaboration:
  • Undertaking general administration tasks related to project activities.
  • Supporting the wider Magic Me team through the management of Petty Cash (training for Xero will be provided).
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to deepen knowledge and prepare for a future career pathway within Magic Me.

• Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, pro rata.
• Holiday: 25 days and bank holidays (pro-rata) + days between Christmas & New Year. Additionally, we are trialling an additional week of leave during August 2024 and 2025, which may be offered in 2026 if successful.

The role

Are you passionate about fundraising and supporting an inspiring programme of artistic events, learning activities and community work?  

We are seeking a Philanthropy Officer to play a key role in supporting and delivering excellent stewardship for our Patrons and most generous individual donors. From dance and film, to music, theatre and visual arts the Philanthropy team works across the whole of our ambitious and joyful cross-arts programme, giving you the chance to share the best of the Barbican with our closest supporters.

The Philanthropy Officer will be the main point of contact in the Philanthropy team, primarily account managing our lower-level Patrons and supporting the stewardship and recruitment of higher level donors. Alongside the delivery of our Patrons scheme, they will lead on all individual giving events and manage the philanthropy team’s participation in Development-wide events such as exhibition private views. Hours/Days per week: 37.5 hour per week, 8.5 hours per day (between 8am - 8pm). Monday – Saturday (5 days on, 2 days off). Operating hours of the kitchen are, Monday-Thursday 7:30am-8pm, Friday 7:30am-6pm, Saturday 8am-4pm. Most working days will be between 8am-6pm for this role.

About The Felix Project

The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. Our vision is a London where good food is never wasted, and no one goes hungry. We aim to reduce the negative impact food waste has on the environment by working with the food industry to rescue high quality surplus produce, that would otherwise have gone to waste. This food is sorted at one of our four depots or turned into meals in Felix’s Kitchen. Purpose of the Job 

We are looking for the Assistant Kitchen Manager to play a key role in the Kitchen team.

Felix’s Kitchen is the longest running Production site we have here at The Felix Project, the staff and volunteer team in the kitchen, turn surplus food into almost 5,000 meals a day. These meals are cooked and packed on site and then go into our network of depots and on to some of the 1,200 community organisations we support.

This role is support in the managing of the day to day running of the kitchen, its team, the food production and packing of the meals and all aspects related to these responsibilities. Assist The Kitchen Manager in all aspects of the operation and planning for the kitchen.

No two days are ever quite the same in our kitchen, we work with volunteers and surplus food this means we adapt and thrive in a fast and changing environment. This role supports and oversees the entire operation, from the kitchen and chef team to the packing room and packing team, our volunteers and engaging and organising within the wider Felix Project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your normal duties and responsibilities will be set out in your job description. However, the charity may require you to perform other duties from time to time. 

• Support all kitchen staff so they can fulfil their role
• Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen and packing area, taking a hands-on approach
• Ensure that the operation hits its agreed targets of production
• Responsible for the quality control of the cooked and packed meals, and that all correct HACCP procedures are followed
• Responsible for Health and Safety in the kitchen, food safety and record keeping and keeping all records up to date
• Oversee kitchen maintenance and cleaning
• Overseeing shift planning and the rota for the entire kitchen team
• Ordering of all food and other materials needed in the kitchen
• Connect and work closely together with the team at the Poplar Depot, we are attached to
• Ensuring all staff and all volunteers have all relevant training and are well supervised & supported
• Maintain relationships with the wider Felix team and key connections of the Felix kitchen
• This role will be operational, with some management and administrative duties
• Willingness for the role to develop

Person Specification

This is a truly unique role, and we are looking for someone to bring their own skills, experience and flair to the role. We are looking for someone to help set and maintain very high standards in the kitchen.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to continuously improve, whether this be food quality or process or working relationships. The kitchen has achieved some great successes over the last 4 years, but we are looking for someone to continue that improvement and the impact we can have across London.

Essential Criteria

• Experience in hospitality/catering management and/or kitchen management role
• Eagerness to improve processes and solve problems
• Comfortable with all aspects of H&S, Food Safety and HACCP procedures or a willingness to learn
• Demonstrable interest in food waste and/or food security
• Clear eye for detail, team player, enjoys the work they do and a strong work ethic
• Comfortable in working in a team and a larger organisation
• Strong people and management skills
• Mature and professional management style, whilst also being able to accommodate vulnerable people with care and consideration
• Flexible in working hours, comfortable in working in a fast changing and growing work environment
• Strong IT, administrative and organisational skills

Desirable skills 

• Previous experience in the charity or surplus food environment 
• Level 3 or higher Food Safety qualified 
• Experience working with and/or managing volunteers 
• A passion to reduce food waste and reduce food insecurity
