Wellbeing is an integral part of our lives both inside and outside work. We at the Methodist Church have always placed a great deal of importance on promoting good wellbeing and now we can take this a step further. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a wellbeing/HR individual with a special interest in wellbeing, to join the small wellbeing team within the Connexional team.

We are looking for someone who has a keen eye and interest in wellbeing. The main focus of this role will be to support first-hand the development of the wellbeing page on the Methodist Church website and the internal Intranet, ensuring that the content is updated and reflective of current trends. You will also contribute to the overall efficient and effective running of the team.  This role is an important part of developing, promoting and advancing wellbeing within the Methodist church.

About You

You should have good wellbeing knowledge and experience, project management skills, a real flair for attention to detail and the ability to develop a range of information resources and guidance materials. 

You should have the ability to demonstrate good generalist administrative skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills as with the ability to deal with difficult people and challenging situations.

Proficient user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and website design and editing software.

Professional and positive approach, with a commitment to professional development and self-improvement.

About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Partnerships & Impact Funding, the role of Partnerships and Business Development Lead is responsible for strategic leadership in developing and nurturing institutional funding partnerships (Government, Multi-lateral, Trusts & Foundations,

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the role of Partnerships and Business Development Lead will include:

• Inspire and motivate a high-performing team of multiple units through donor specialist managers and programme design advisor to deliver strategic impact and income goals and targets.
• Develop long-term global income generation strategies aligned with Christian Aid’s values and goals.
• Actively contribute to the Partnership and Impact Funding (PIF) Division management team, sharing ideas and insights to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge, deputising for the Head of Partnerships & Impact Funding when required.

About you

Who we are looking for

Essential:

• Proven track record in directly securing multi-million-pound contracts or grants from institutional, trusts and foundations, and corporate donors.
• Substantial experience in building and cultivating strategic donor partnerships including engagement at global, regional and country mission levels with senior stakeholders and demonstrable experience of engaging.
• Extensive management experience overseeing high-performing teams directly and remotely.
• Extensive experience of leading multiple bid teams to successful outcomes.
• Advanced negotiation skills at senior levels within HQ’s, regional offices, or missions.
• Detailed understanding of institutional, corporate and trusts and foundations donor funding landscapes and  trends.

• Verbal fluency in English with a persuasive writing style.

Desirable:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in business, economics, international relations, development studies, or related fields.
• Understanding of humanitarian programming principles and practice.
• Substantial experience working within an international development organisation at a senior level.

The Head of People role is a full time role paying around £70,000 per annum and will require the post holder to attend the office 2-3 days per week. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to design and deliver a People Strategy that aligns with their organisational goals and culture.
• Monitoring and improving the People Experience through initiatives such as annual culture surveys, wellbeing plans, and their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Reviewing and managing people policies, ensuring consistency, compliance and cultural alignment, while offering trusted support on all people-related matters.
• Leading the end-to-end hiring process, from advertising to interviews and onboarding, to ensure a welcoming and efficient experience for all new team members.
• Overseeing their Talent Management System, support line managers with performance reviews and development plans, and identify learning and training needs across the team.
• Advising leadership on structural changes, resourcing plans and future skills needed as the organisation evolves.
• Managing payroll and benefits for both UK and international staff, and make sure it’s always aligned with employment law, data protection, and health & safety.
• Being a vital point of contact for HR and people support during Games deployments, ensuring smooth operations and quick resolutions when needed.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, experienced people professional with a strong generalist background ideally in the sports, events or the arts sector. You’re strategic yet hands-on, approachable, and inclusive, with great communication and problem-solving skills. We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time Permanent Basis.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Tonbridge Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.

Some but not all key responsibilities are:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
• Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
• Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.

• Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.

• Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.

The Finance Officer will work within the Finance Department to provide essential day today financial processing, support and advice.
