Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs.
• To coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and sufficient staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs.
• To assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing development of the Disability staff team.
• Leadership and Line Management of a team of Play/Youth Workers and volunteers.
• Have responsibility for processing new referrals, initial assessments, individual care plans and any associated risk assessments or specialist plans to ensure we meet individual needs.
• To be the lead practitioner providing the staff team with advice, coaching and on-site management of club structure.
• To develop strategies and behavioural support plans for young people attending activities and access YMCA Disability Services.
• To be aware of Ofsted requirements and ensure Short Breaks clubs for children are compliant, with ongoing monitoring.
• Maintain and monitor agreed attendance levels and activity budget.
• To promote clubs and share stories via social media. Manage cohort numbers and waiting lists efficiently.  
• Lead in Administering medication, PEG feeds and undertaking movement and handling for children and young people with complex health needs. Undergo relevant training and transfer this knowledge onto the staff team.
• Work closely with individual children and young people and their families to identify a range of social, recreational and leisure activities to meet the needs of young people and children.
• Ensure that all young people are made to feel valued and enabled to develop and improve self-esteem, life skills, self-confidence and positive experiences
• To gain young people’s feedback, capturing their voice in shaping and evaluating future club sessions.
• Work closely as part of the delivery team, initiate programmed activities, alongside additional opportunities locally.
• To be responsible for the Health and Safety of children, young people and staff, above all, ensuring that Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults at Risk policies are adhered to.
• Managing the venue, ensuring all risk assessments are completed in line with our policies to ensure the environment is safe, secure and suitable for staff, CYP and our service delivery.
• Provide information, guidance and advice for parent/carers about local services for young people and families.
• Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings and forums related to the CYP services activities.
• To provide operational Coordinator or Leader cover for other Disability Services or locations as required.
• Design and deliver training sessions to CYP staff.
• To undertake the role of Duty Officer at the Sovereign Centre, at times to be agreed with Disability Services Manager.

Finance Officer – Church & Community Transformation (CCT)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated CCT Finance Officer to provide excellent and responsive financial support to our Church & Community Transformation (CCT) team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of CCT project financial reporting, monitoring global CCT budgets, and communicating budget versus actual information to key project staff and managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide proactive and responsive support for budgeting, financial planning, and reporting activities within the CCT team.
• Ensure effective financial control and audit management for CCT projects, including making accounting entries and journals.
• Support financial risk management and ensure CCT funds are spent effectively.
• Assist with financial year-end responsibilities for the Global Influencing & Programmes Group.
• Offer real-time support on Tearfund finance policies and procedures to field teams.
• Nurture and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across Tearfund.

About You:

• You hold an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or are part-qualified (CCAB or similar professional accountancy qualification).
• You have solid experience in project budgeting, planning, and forecasting, with a proven ability to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide commentary on variances.
• You possess a strong understanding of multi-currency accounting and systems.
• You have first-class communication skills (verbal and written), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work on your own initiative.
• You are computer literate, experienced in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel, and proficient in producing financial reports.
• Willingness and availability to travel abroad is essential.
• Experience working with and supporting NGO grant partners is desirable, as is a basic ability in French, Spanish, or Portuguese.

You will identify strengths within local communities, foster meaningful connections, and utilise this to create new networks and drive positive change.

Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, you will create opportunities for members of the Armed Forces community (AFC) and their families to connect with Help for Heroes and their local community. 

About You 

You will have experience of working alongside communities to create the conditions for community-led change, ideally with experience of Asset-Based Community Development. You will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships, and inspire collaboration which will be essential in creating positive, lasting change.

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people 

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. 

Our services include Battersea Bites, Age Well and Core social activities and digital inclusion.

We work with people 50+ to: 

• Encourage active and independent living 

• Reduce isolation and loneliness 

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health 

• Engage members to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for this Role 

Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

Planning 

• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations. 

• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.

• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.

• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.

• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves

• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme. 

Delivery 

• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget. 

• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met 

• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary. 

• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service. 

• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)

• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas. 

• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including the health and safety folder containing opening and closing checks. Training can be provided.

• Ensure your hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest standard, and those of anyone entering the kitchen, including volunteers, are suitably dressed and uphold the same standards 

• Be part of and work closely with the Elders Team at KLS 

• Support elders who attend the club so that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for them.

• Inform the Manager (or in their absence the Head of Service) of any concerning incidents, compliments, complaints or accidents (including safeguarding issues).

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by quickly and calmly addressing kitchen challenges and ensuring smooth meal preparation under pressure.

• Take part in the monitoring and evaluation of the programme under the guidance of the Managers of the 50+ programme

As Director of Partnerships, you will:

Key Responsibilities

Philanthropy Leadership

• Leads strategy, planning and operation of the major gift, trusts & foundations and corporate giving channels.
• Develops annual business plans and budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) and Executive Team.  
• Strategically identifies and qualifies potential new donors to grow the prospect pipeline.
• Prepares development communications: solicitation and acknowledgement letters; case statements and proposals; stewardship reports; briefing notes; gift agreements.
• Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major gift commitments from high-net-worth individuals
• Monitors activity of the team, ensuring that benchmarks are achieved, including submission of solicitations, donor contacts and meetings, confirmations of donations, and other performance indicators as related to the team checking their portfolio.
• Provides the organisation with the interpretation of market trends and emerging issues that could impact the organisation’s partnerships fundraising stream.

Partnership Sustainability

• Develops donor relationships by researching, sourcing, cultivating, and stewarding existing and potential partners.
• Works to broaden sources of revenue, including working with corporate partners in various industries.

Are you a highly-organised, unflappable administrator with the ability to manage competing priorities in a timely manner? The Student Christian Movement is looking for someone to lead the administration function of our small but mighty charity.

Responsible to the CEO, you will work across the charity, acting as secretary to our board of Trustees, responsible for HR and payroll function, act as line manager to two administrators, and add to the sustainability of the organisation by writing and submitting robust trust funding applications.

SCM has six members of staff, all but one of whom are part time, and achieves a great deal. Supporting progressive Christian students and members across the country to put their faith into action, no two weeks are ever the same. We are a dynamic and energetic organisation, working to challenge injustice and exclusion, grow thoughtful disciples and create community.
