About the role
In this role you will provide expert support to the Finance team providing financial analysis, delivery of financial month end tasks, production of management reports and assisting in the budgeting and forecasting processes, which will enable key stakeholders to make the best decisions, taking into account the financial impact, the most effective use of resources and alignment to our corporate strategic objectives.

You will build strong relations with the Finance colleagues you support, providing financial reporting and management information, and advising on operational issues and processes.

You will provide analysis and scrutiny of financial outcomes and other indicators of business performance to inform decision making.
 

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience of financial analysis and reporting in a large organisation.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated financial analysis on large data sets.
• Technical finance knowledge and ability to use accounting and office software packages.
• Building and maintaining relationships and influence across a variety of stakeholders.
• An accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential.

My client is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through better education. This clear goal sees them work throughout the UK and overseas, partnering schools, leading on teacher training and support as well as devising innovative new techniques and programmes.

At present they are looking for some interim support between permanent hires to their Financial Controller position. Reporting into the Director of Finance, key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the highest standards of financial controls are met across the organisation and its subsidiaries.

Founded in 1989, the mission of Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK) is to support Indigenous Peoples and other communities of the world’s rainforests in their efforts to protect their environment and fulfil their rights to land, life and livelihood.  Locally, it supports forest communities to gain land rights, challenge destructive industries, manage their forests and protect their environment. Globally, it campaigns to influence laws and policies that protect rainforests and their inhabitants. 

The DRC Fieldwork Coordinator role sits within RFUK’s largest Programmes team: Land & Livelihoods. A central aspect of the L&L team’s work is supporting communities to establish and manage community forests as well as working at the national and policy levels to achieve wider impact. This role will be pivotal to a new phase of community forest expansion in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is being supported by the Rainforest Trust. In partnership with five local organisations, the role will contribute to the objective of expanding community forests in two highly biodiverse landscapes: the periphery of the Maïko National Park in North Kivu province and the area surrounding the Salonga National Park in Maï Ndombe province. 

The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years’ experience of project management support in a charity or international development context, as well as 3 years’ of experience in supporting community land use planning and livelihoods initiatives in rural contexts. We are seeking someone who has a firm grasp on forest governance and human rights, is familiar with the requirements of institutional donors, and is eager to play a key role in a new phase of community forest expansion.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To lead the Support Team to provide emotional and practical support to families and individuals living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It includes leading the support team to provide 1-2-1 and group support provided in person or virtually, and creating and growing support networks for the wider Duchenne community which includes Duchenne parents/caregivers; young people and adults living with Duchenne; extended family and friends; and professionals in environments such as schools, local authorities and clinics. 

Specific Tasks:

The focus areas and key deliverables of this role are as follows:

• Develop a clear process for identifying case loads and capacity for the Support Team.

• Identify opportunities, alongside the team, for cross team working - including residentials; family events; Science Educations workshops with regional meetups and education visits to schools and local authorities.

• Obtain, decipher and provide training to the Support Team on new updates relevant to Duchenne families, such as DLA, EHCP and more.

• Work closely with your team, to ensure that each family receives the best support possible, and that long-term support is provided.

• Lead on the development and delivery of monthly reporting of engagement and support contact, which will feed into the wider All Through Support journey. 

• To work with the Head of Operations and Events to contribute to Agenda topics and speakers from the community; assign roles for the conference to the Support Team.

• Establish a database for external stakeholders also supporting those living with Duchenne on a national basis, fed in to from the Support Team.

• To develop a triaging and caseload process for the Support Team, and how best to regularly monitor this.

• Be involved in the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers appropriate to your area of work.

• To maintain the contact database, keeping it up to date and accurate.

• Coordinate cover for the Support Team when there is sickness or leave.

As the designated safeguarding lead (DSL), you will act as the main source of support, advice, and expertise for safeguarding within the organisation. You will ensure consistency of safeguarding procedures across services, lead safeguarding peer reviews, and support local designated safeguarding leads with complex cases.

In this strategic leadership role, you will:

· Demonstrate effective leadership to embed safeguarding best practices within all teams.

· Advise and support the senior team in developing and establishing the organisation’s approach to safeguarding.

· Lead and coordinate peer reviews of safeguarding practice.

· Create, develop, and implement a Safeguarding Improvement Plan for the organisation.

· Ensure that safeguarding and child protection standards are maintained by all colleagues.

· Monitor our approach and ensure that all team members are aware of their safeguarding responsibilities.

· Encourage a culture of listening to young people and adults, taking into account their wishes and feelings.

· Represent the organisation at external meetings and liaise with outside agencies and statutory bodies

Qualifications and Experience

In your role as a Community Keyworker, you will be working with women involved in the Criminal Justice System; those on Probation in the Community and those women being released from Prison as part of their Post Sentence Supervision; providing some in-reach and ‘Through the Gate’ support. You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide holistic one to one community support to women with a variety of needs.

About You:

To be successful as the Community Key Worker you will need the below experience and skills.

There will be travel around the region involved in this role so you will either need to hold a UK driving licence with access to car that can be used for work purposes, or you will need to be willing to get a driving licence if successful. You will also be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are a confident professional relationship builder with have good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. You have strong administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also, experience of supporting. You will also have good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the Hampshire area.
