- Salary: Actual £27,000 to £28,500 pa (FTE £45,000 to £47,500pa)

Overall Responsibility
With the assistance of a small Finance Team and applying high standards, to support the Director of Finance by managing the day-to-day accounting and transaction processing activity for the and it’s trading subsidiary. To take direct and specific responsibility for Payroll and VAT.
Detailed Responsibilities:
i. Integrity of Prime Transactions: To ensure the high-quality routines and procedures are in place and applied by the Finance Team to maintain accurate accounting records of all transactions using Quick Books Online (or any replacement financial system) and delivered to meet the Reporting & Meeting timetable.
ii. Monthly Payroll: With payroll data provided by the SMT and other managers, the Payroll Bureau (Access) and other stakeholders, to carry out all routines and procedures to maintain accurate and payroll processing in accordance with a rigid delivery timetable i.e.
• Payroll Processing for both fixed Salaries and variable Casual Wages (timesheets)
• Payroll Payments and Payslip Delivery to all employees
• Reporting and payments to HMRC: monthly and annually in accordance with published statutory timetable.
• To manage the payment of pension contributions and other employee deductions & benefits.
• Other Payroll administration and compliance e.g. for Joiners and Leavers
iii. VAT: To accurately reconcile, complete and submit quarterly/annual returns and associated payments in accordance with established timetables and reflecting partial exemption as appropriate. To liaise with the HMRC as and when required. To advise internally on technical VAT issues.
iv. Fixed Assets: To ensure the Fixed Asset schedules are maintained and reconciled on a quarterly basis with the General Ledger.
v. Control Accounts: To reconcile all control accounts on a rolling monthly basis and at least once a quarter, in accordance with the Accounting Check-list, and to resolve any differences.
vi. Internal Control: To ensure, as far as practical, that a diversification of duties exists within the finance team to afford adequate protection of the company’s assets and that all approvals and payments are made in accordance with the approved Authorisation Structure.

About the role
As our Temporary Finance Manager, you will be managing a finance assistant and will be part of our organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, helping to collaboratively shape and steer the charity as we work towards our 2022-2027 strategy. The Finance Manager is at the heart of Woman’s Trust; you will play an essential role and have oversight of not just the finance team - you will have direct exposure to CEO/Board Members and decision-making for the future of the organisation.
We are looking for a highly motived Temporary Finance Manager with demonstrable experience working in a similar senior level role. You’ll be a fully or part qualified accountant e.g. CIMA/ACA/ACCA/Cipfa, with a thorough understanding of charity accounting.
Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week.
Contract: Fixed term to start ASAP until 18th December 2025.

The salary band for this role is £40,000 - £46,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. About the role
We're looking for a dynamic, relationship-focused, and highly organised individual to oversee our teaching programmes, school partnerships, and tutor network.
This role is crucial to ensuring our programmes are high-quality, well-managed, and meeting the needs of schools. You will be the first point of contact for schools, building strong relationships with headteachers and SENCOs, and ensuring that we offer the right support at the right time.

Key responsibilities
School relationships and programme development (account management)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools and other stakeholders, ensuring our programmes align with their needs.
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities for growth, understanding school funding challenges, and positioning Quest for Learning as a key partner.
- Stay abreast of educational trends, school funding pressures, and local needs, using this market intelligence to shape programme delivery and ensure our offer remains relevant, impactful, and responsive to the challenges schools and pupils face.
- Support marketing efforts by sharing impact stories, case studies, and insights from schools.
- Support and develop approaches that foster meaningful engagement with parents and carers, helping them to feel confident and involved in their child’s learning journey.
- Maintain a strong understanding of school funding arrangements (e.g. National Funding Formula, Pupil Premium, EHCP funding), using this knowledge to position our programmes effectively and align with school priorities.
Tutor management and quality assurance
- Manage the tutor team, ensuring high standards of teaching and professionalism.
- Oversee tutor recruitment, training in programmes, and performance management.
- Ensure tutors are properly equipped with resources and training to deliver high-quality sessions and further relationships in schools.
- Provide pedagogical guidance and support to tutors where needed, drawing on strong educational knowledge to help resolve teaching queries or challenges.
- Actively develop the tutor pool, ensuring we have the right expertise and capacity across Oxfordshire.
Programme coordination and delivery
- Oversee the scheduling and logistics of our tutoring programmes, ensuring smooth delivery and efficient coordination of tutors and bookings.

This will involve identifying and engaging partners in geographical ‘cold spots’ for the network (utilising our mapping tool developed with UCL), as well as forming partnerships to unlock new or under-represented types of Warm Welcome Spaces (e.g. Housing Association Community Spaces, cinemas, community spaces created by new housing developments etc).
● Leading the development of our Local Co-ordinators Cluster which brings together Local Authorities and others who are leading place-based networks of community spaces.
● Overseeing and developing the Champions Programme, providing more intensive support and connections to a smaller cohort of Warm Welcome Spaces.
Engagement and Inclusion
● Developing our Inclusion Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to diversify our Coalition and support local Spaces to become more accessible and inclusive.
● Working with the team to develop regular engagement activities for Warm Welcome Partners.
● Producing compelling communications (written and verbal) to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and grow the depth and breadth of partnerships - to include but not limited to partnership proposals, pitches and reports.
