Reporting to the Research Funding Manager, to assist with the processing of funding applications, their review by external experts and the charity’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), the administration and financial management of the resulting awards.

What will you be doing?

· Supporting applicants from all over the world to bring us their new ideas in cancer research by providing guidance in a timely manner. You’ll receive and process discovery cancer research funding applications, ensuring validity and completeness.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance and Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure the College meets its legal and regulatory compliance requirements as an educational establishment and a charity.  The focus of the role is to be responsible, with the support of the Training Administration team, for all reporting to regulatory bodies in a timely manner to ensure the College meets the requirements of the Office for Students (OfS), The Open University (OU), Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) and other regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for reporting internal information and meeting the reporting requirements of regulatory organisations – primarily the Office for Students (OfS), Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Open University (OU), the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). This will be with the support of the Training Administration team and all other teams within the college.

 Maintain governance calendars, ensuring alignment with charity
reporting requirements and deadlines.
 Support the CEO and Head of Governance & Operations in ensuring
compliance with regulatory and governance obligations (e.g., Charity
Commission, Companies House).
 Facilitate effective communication between the CEO and Trustees, and
support Board induction, development and off boarding processes.
 Maintain accurate records and filing systems for confidential and
governance documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement:
 Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the CEO in a
professional and timely manner.
 Support the planning and execution of high-profile meetings and events
involving funders, partners, and supporters.

Office and Project Support:
 Assist in the delivery and tracking of cross-organisational projects led by
the CEO.
 Coordinate Leadership meetings including preparing agendas, papers
and monitoring progress against the annual plan
 Coordinate the reporting from strategic working groups to monitor
progresses against objectives
 Coordinate and prepare assurance documents including the Risk
Register, CEO report and regulatory or compliance documents, as
required
 Provide occasional support to the senior management team, as required
 Undertake any other duties as the organisation may reasonably require.
 Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an
active, invested member of our team
 Able to work flexibly, including working occasional evenings.
