Overall Purpose of the Trusts & Foundations Manager

The Trusts and Foundations Manager is an exciting new role and will join our small but expanding Guts UK fundraising team.  Trusts and Foundations is a relatively new income stream for us, with real potential.  

• You will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, developing, engagement and stewardship while retaining key relationships with trust and foundations in line with Guts UK’s strategic framework.   

• You will proactively lead on identifying and progressing opportunities, developing and stewarding relationships, thinking creatively and strategically to develop compelling proposals.   

• You will work closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager and CEO as we establish, develop, and retain these valued relationships.

Who we’re looking for?

The successful candidate will be an experienced, relationship-focused trusts and foundations fundraiser, excited by the opportunity to play a key part in developing and elevating this income stream.  

You will pride yourself on outstanding stewardship, relationship building and prospect development and have a wealth of experience securing multi-year grants and long-term support from trusts and foundations.   

A committed and inspiring ambassador for Guts UK, you will also be a great team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues to deliver a dynamic and innovative programme of donor cultivation and stewardship.

Location

We have offices in London and Huddersfield which are easily accessible by road or public transport. We support hybrid working but attendance in one of the offices [dependent on your location] is required for a minimum of 1 day per week.

As Educational Partnerships Manager, you’ll work across Cornwall, building partnerships with schools, colleges, youth organisations and community groups—particularly in areas where opportunities are hardest to come by.

Key Responsibilities

A few practical things:

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Sunderland. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

This is a part-time role for 21 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the IAP or IAQ qualification will start on £24,500 per annum pro-rata.

Asylum Link Merseyside (ALM) is seeking a transformational leader to take this highly respected local charity to its next phase of development. This is an exciting opportunity to lead, shape and grow the organisation, a leading charity within the asylum seeking sector in Merseyside. ALM was established over 20 years ago and has grown significantly in reach, scope and prominence during this time. The organisation offers an unparalleled range of services and expertise for asylum seekers in Merseyside. It is a vibrant and dynamic charity required to show versatility and respond to the ever-changing demands of the policy landscape and the increasingly complex needs and challenges within the asylum sector. 

The CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, management and strategic direction of the organisation. They will work closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, and key stakeholders to ensure the charity fulfils its mission and achieves its goals to provide support to some of the most vulnerable people in society. They will lead a highly committed team of staff with dedication, leadership and creativity, underlined by deep empathy and understanding for those going through the asylum system. The CEO will act as an ambassador for the charity and play a key role in maintaining and further raising its profile, as well as ensuring financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Lead on the development and implementation of the strategic plan to further strengthen ALM’s impact.

- Ensure that ALM’s mission, vision, and values are clearly articulated and upheld, and reflected in the day-to day running of the organisation.

Staff Leadership and Development:

- Lead, inspire, and motivate the staff team of 10 to achieve the charity’s objectives and create a positive workplace culture.

- Put in place a system of staff performance development and appraisal, and prioritise staff support and well-being.

- Manage the recruitment and retention of staff, ensuring appropriate training and development opportunities are available.

Operational Management:

- Oversee the delivery of high quality services and projects through effective leadership, oversight and delegation.

- Ensure ALM’s significant and dedicated team of volunteers is supported and deployed to maximise their skillset for the benefit of the charity and its service users.

- Oversight of ALM’s physical resources including premises and equipment. 

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management: 

- Work closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective and transparent governance including the development, review and implementation of policies.

- Take the necessary actions to ensure the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and work with the Trustees to Identify, analyse and mitigate organisational risks. 

Fundraising and Financial Management: 

- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to provide long term sustainability. 

- Maintain and build relationships with trusts, foundations and other donors that support the work of the charity.

- Lead financial planning and manage the budget, ensuring effective use of resources and financial accountability.

External Representation: 

- Build strong relationships with key external partners, including local authorities, government agencies, and third sector organisations. 

- Act as the public face of ALM, champion the charity’s cause, develop key messaging and promote its mission to a wide audience, including dealing with challenging and sensitive contexts. 

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• Leadership: Previous experience as a CEO or senior manager in the third sector is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, set a clear vision, develop and implement strategies, implement change and drive organisational success is required.
• Fundraising Expertise: Experience in fundraising, partnership building, and donor relations.
• Financial Management: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and financial management.
• Governance: Familiarity with UK charity governance and compliance requirements.
• Problem-Solving Skills:  Ability to deal positively with challenges, be pro-active, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate resilience.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. High level of emotional intelligence, ability to engage and work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Knowledge of the Refugee and Asylum Sector. Experience of working in the asylum and refugee sector is desirable. Empathy and understanding for those going through the asylum system is essential.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the London Locality Impact team to support our work with colleagues across the locality, stroke communities and health care system, and in supporting people affected by stroke to provide the voice of lived experience.

Position: S11279 Engagement Officer

Location: Home-based, London - Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (includes team meetings and other external work related meetings)

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against planned activity and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Engaging with service providers, clinical partners, community groups for stroke survivors and carers in the locality. including managing relationships with voluntary led support groups, developing the London groups network.

About us

The Asylum Reform Initiative (ARI) is an alliance of nine leading national organisations collaborating to secure deep change towards a fair, compassionate and well-managed UK approach to refugees. Central to its strategy has been incubating, launching and backing the broader, public-facing Together With Refugees campaign coalition, now with over 600 national and local member groups from across the refugee sector and beyond. The ARI team provides a dynamic hub that supports Together With Refugees, coordinating the development and delivery of the coalition’s campaign strategy.

About the role

This is a new role. Working closely with the rest of the ARI team, One Strong Voice, and the newly formed Together With Refugees Steering Group, it will play a key part in shaping and delivering the ambitious next phase of the Together With Refugees strategy. The Deputy Director will lead on movement building, strengthening the coalition, and developing the reach, activation levels and effectiveness of the coalition’s grassroots campaign organising to secure changes in policy and practice. At the heart of this is the engagement and leadership of activists with lived experience as refugees, and of member groups that are led by and for refugees – so advancing the goal of a transition to leadership by people with lived experience across the coalition. Key to this work will be building the capacity, effectiveness and impact of the One Strong Voice network to support lived experience campaigners, organisations and leaders at all levels. The Deputy Director will also contribute to wider leadership of the team’s work including fundraising, support for – and accountability to – coalition leadership structures, and effective delivery of the team’s work programme.

We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Key Support Worker to be part of Hummingbird Homes—a unique new model helping young people transition from care to independent living.

Background:

At Handcrafted, we work with a range of vulnerable people, including care leavers. Their stories and experiences have helped us to recognise that there is a gap in provision from 16+, where transitioning into independent living is either an overly support-intensive time or very isolating. We have created a new model of support for those transitioning from care to independent living, bridging a critical gap in services.

Our New Approach:

To set up the Hummingbird Community, we have purchased five houses that are all near each other. Four of these will be used as supported housing for children 16+ transitioning out of the care system, and one of them will serve as a dedicated "Support House". 

This house will have a central community space for the young people, and it's a home where you can stay nearby whilst working, on-call, or between shifts, for as long as you are employed by Handcrafted.

The communal area downstairs will be the base for spending time together and providing life skills training alongside the wider team.

You would have your own private space upstairs for when you stay at the Support House.
