This exciting opportunity sits within our Children and Young People's Service and will support children and young people aged 4-25 who have experienced sexual violence. The role will involve providing short-term, trauma-informed wellbeing advocacy, working closely with survivors, their families and support networks, and helping them navigate health, safeguarding and support systems.
About the Role
Reporting to the Clinical Lead for Children & Young People / Advocacy Service Manager, the successful candidate will:
- Provide specialist wellbeing advocacy and emotional support to children and young people affected by sexual violence.
- Undertake risk and needs assessments and develop support plans.
- Work collaboratively with schools, social care, health services, CAMHS, criminal justice agencies and community partners.
- Support children, young people and families to access appropriate services and resources.
- Manage a caseload, maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Deliver support through face-to-face, online, telephone and outreach settings.
- Contribute to service development, awareness raising and training activities.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The successful applicant will:

Often, the first point of contact for our clients at the Southwark Wellbeing Hub is the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Team – the IAG Team aim to provide support for residents who may be experiencing social-isolation, low mood, anxiety or depression. The service handles enquiries from people seeking support for a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, advocacy, family support, immigration, disability and legal advice in addition to accessing our in-house one-to-one mental health support offering, workshops/groups, culturally specific counselling, or housing/benefits specialists.
As an IAG Facilitator, your responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Covering the Helpline
- Monitoring the referral inbox
- Providing clients with information advice and guidance, such as signposting
- Completing referrals to grassroots and statutory organisations
- Attending meetings with the wider team
- Siphoning clients into other areas of the Hub to access our wider range of support
As one of two IAG Facilitators, you’ll support volunteers to ensure that the service is running efficiently. You will be in regular contact with clients both interested in and accessing the service to make sure they have adequate support. This may include referrals and signposting to additional or alternative mental health and social support services.
Applicants should have experience of providing advice in benefits and housing, managing a diverse caseload and providing advocacy, and possess effective communication skills. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

Job Title: Recovery in Community Peer Support Worker

Role Context
Recovery in Community is a collaborative initiative delivered in partnership between Gaddum and Manchester Mind. The service supports people to leave inpatient mental health settings and return to their community with the support they need to recover and remain well.
As a team, we deliver psycho-social interventions, advocacy, housing and welfare rights advice, peer support to adults as well as tailored support to young people (those under the age of 25).All we do is underpinned by listening and ensuring people feel heard – because we know that when people are listened to, they recover. The team works with colleagues within the mental health, primary care, inpatient and community sectors.
Role Purpose
As a Peer Support Worker, you will have lived or living experience of receiving mental health care or treatment in hospital. Using your expertise gained through this experience, you will support peers in their mental health recovery who are ready to leave hospital or are already in the community. Receiving support from your colleagues, you’ll develop and manage your casework practice and hold a small case load.
You will walk alongside people to set achievable goals to ensure they get the support that they need, ultimately feeling connected to their communities – the right services and support network.
This role will work with a small but intensive caseload (max 12 cases for a full-time peer support worker) to focus on:
- Repatriate: when people are sent to an out of area placement (OAPs) advocate to get them back to Greater Manchester so they can recover in their community.
- Discharge: Supporting people when they’re ready to be discharged from inpatient mental health services to get back to the community and recover.
- Prevent re-admissions: Work with people, post-discharge, to ensure they continue to get the support they need to make informed choices, stay well and ultimately thrive.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide bespoke support to people that are ready to be discharged from inpatient psychiatric care to return to the community, building (with support) packages of care so they have a positive and sustained recovery.
- To work alongside people post-discharge, in their community setting (e.g. home or supported accommodation) to ensure they get what they need to stay well.
- To effectively manage a small caseload (about 7 people), being flexible to people’s needs and short-term changes in schedule.
- To work in a person-centred, trauma informed, empowering and culturally appropriate way that enables people to feel listened to and heard.
- To help people engage with services and make sustainable links with their communities.
- To use and develop your knowledge of community care, policies, legislation and services to get people the support they need to recover and stay well.
- Identify when cases need escalation or onward referral and keep your line manager aware of case developments.
- Independently visit people in inpatient and community settings in Manchester and across Greater Manchester, adhering to lone working and risk management procedures.
- Occasionally visit people out of the Greater Manchester area who need to return to their community in Manchester (all travel expenses will be paid and non-commute travel time will be part of your working day).
- Build relationships with colleagues within services (e.g. inpatient staff, social care, CMHTs etc) to enable improved collaborative working
- Take part in multi-disciplinary meetings, representing the views of people, and their aspirations on returning to community settings.
- Support the ongoing service development, drawing on your role as an ‘Expert by Experience’ and using what you hear from the people you support to contribute to the development of the services by reviewing and contributing to improvements.
All staff are expected to work within all Gaddum policies and procedures. This role is subject to a enhanced DBS check.

About the role:
No one should leave hospital with nowhere safe to go.
As Homeless Pathway Coordinator, you’ll be a consistent and trusted presence for patients experiencing homelessness, helping them navigate what can feel like an overwhelming mix of health, housing and support systems. You’ll spend time with patients on wards and in A&E, listening to what matters to them, understanding the barriers they face and making sure their voice remains at the heart of every decision.
Day to day, you’ll manage a caseload, complete assessments, develop clear discharge and support plans and make referrals to housing, healthcare, social care, mental health and substance use services. You’ll follow up actions, keep plans moving and advocate firmly when someone is at risk of being discharged without the right accommodation or support in place.
You’ll work closely with the Homeless Pathway Lead, hospital teams, Newham Council and SHP’s wider Health Team, bringing professionals together and helping everyone stay focused on the person behind the case. You’ll also build links with community services, identify gaps in existing pathways and share learning that helps the hospital respond more effectively to people experiencing homelessness.
This is a role where strong relationships can change the course of someone’s recovery. You’ll join an experienced and supportive team, with opportunities to deepen your knowledge of inclusion health, homelessness and psychologically informed practice through training, reflective practice and shared learning.

About AAFDA All
AAFDA All is a four-year project developed in partnership with Imkaan to create, pilot and evaluate a culturally responsive advocacy and peer support service for bereaved family members from Black and minoritised communities who have lost a loved one to fatal domestic abuse. The project aims to reduce barriers to support, build trust with communities and specialist organisations, strengthen peer connection, and ensure that lived experience shapes service development, practice and wider systems change.
Role Purpose
The Project Co-ordinator will lead the development, co-ordination and day-to-day delivery of AAFDA All, ensuring that the service is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, safe, accessible and shaped by the voices of bereaved family members from Black and minoritised communities. The postholder will work closely with AAFDA colleagues, Imkaan, the Specialist Advocate, volunteers, community partners, statutory agencies and the Service User Advisory Group to develop referral pathways, support co production, co-ordinate peer support activity, monitor outcomes and embed learning across the programme.

Hope for Justice is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join our team as an Independent Modern Slavery Advocate® (IMSA®) (Trainee) to join our Advocacy team and work within the IMSA® model pilot. This is an in-role trainee position which requires successful completion of the IMSA® PG Certification in order to progress to the full IMSA® role.
Since September 2025, the IMSA® Model Development Project has been pioneering a national pilot. Hope for Justice is working in partnership with 14 other organisations, together employing 28 IMSAs® and Senior IMSAs® who are working alongside adult survivors of human trafficking. Hope for Justice leads the central IMSA® Model Hub within the pilot, supporting IMSAs® and their employing organisations throughout the UK.
To achieve our collection aim of a standardised national model of accredited independent advocacy for adult survivors of modern slavery, all IMSAs® are required to successfully complete the IMSA® PG Certification with St Mary's University. This opportunity will fully fund and support you to complete the IMSA® PG Certification, whilst working as a Trainee IMSA®. Upon successful completion, you will progress into the full IMSA® role. Throughout your training we will support you in the following ways:
·Released in-work time for PG Certification attendance and study
·Reduction in caseload and/or complex cases
·Additional supervision and support for casework
IMSAs® work alongside survivors to help them understand their rights and to navigate the complex systems and support services available in the UK. By working with an independent advocate, survivors can overcome barriers and make informed decisions about their recovery.
This is a UK-based role within our UK Advocacy Team and a fixed term contract until December 2027 (in line with IMSA® Model Pilot timeframes).
This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery and the development of a national pilot working towards a shared goal of every survivor of modern slavery and human trafficking having access to an Independent Modern Slavery Advocate®.
Requirements
1.Provide independent advocacy for survivors of modern slavery/human trafficking in the UK
- Empowering adult survivors by providing a clear overview of their rights and entitlements, in their own language, explaining and providing an overview of options and choices
- Once a survivor understands their rights, producing a detailed initial assessment (legal and socio needs), an individual risk assessment and a safety plan
- Anticipating and understanding the barriers that survivors face and how independent advocacy can help to overcome those barriers
- Ensuring smooth transfer into safe accommodation and into the community, advocating for clear pathways to services and systems, in accordance with the non-statutory government endorsed, Slavery and Trafficking Care Standards 2025, produced by the Human Trafficking Foundation
- Act as a single point of contact for the survivor, and relevant agencies through all processes. Providing a point of trust for the survivor and high-quality communication with all relevant agencies and professionals
- Ensuring referrals to legal and support agencies are effectively managed and supported, including housing; witness support; health services; finance and debt organisations; education, training and employment services; immigration; civil compensation, public law and criminal law solicitors
- Where necessary, and dependent on local support available, accompany a survivor (online or in-person) to advocacy related appointments, empowering and advocating for the survivor’s needs and wishes to be heard in all processes, supporting the survivor to negotiate these processes and overcome barriers
- Working with the survivor, where appropriate, to develop confidence to do things for themselves, to foster independence and to advocate for themselves
- Ensuring the survivor’s voice is heard and if a survivor wishes to engage that they are well supported as a witness throughout criminal and civil proceedings
- Work collaboratively with key agencies and services that the survivor routinely interacts with, e.g. support worker; social services, health care personnel, and other statutory and non-statutory agencies, to ensure they receive coordinated help and support
- Provide understanding and education for adult survivors at risk of re-trafficking including safety planning, understanding signs of exploitation, worker’s rights and financial inclusion to reduce the risk of re-exploitation
- Managing a caseload using a trauma-informed approach, that is person-led and ensuring all survivors are able to achieve their agreed outcomes
- Working with IMSA Model Hub team to administer and process survivor referrals
- Ensuring that all case management is delivered to agreed standards, in line with the values of the IMSA Model and in line with organisational policies, procedures and best practice.
2.Provide advice to professionals and individuals, building effective and collaborative relationships with other organisations and deliver training and information on modern slavery and human trafficking
- To provide expert information and capacity strengthening to a wide range of professionals, stakeholders and organisations encountered when working as an independent advocate
- To promote and demonstratea trauma informed and person-centered response, ensuring conduct, language and behaviour is anti-oppressive, anti-racist and culturally intelligent
- To deliver training, awareness raising and capacity strengthening sessions on a range of topics relevant to modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK
3.Risk Management and escalation:
- Following procedures, policies and guidance to ensure a safe, effective, and efficient working environment
- Identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately and in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and practice
- Rapidly identifying, managing and when appropriate, escalating risks and health and safety matters
4.Data Management:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management notes and data in accordance with organisational and IMSA Model policies, procedures and good practice
- Ensuring that data protection and information sharing policies are upheld
5.Team Member:
- To actively participate in all team meetings, upholding and promoting a supportive environment throughout the IMSA Model Hub and the wider network of IMSAs
- To work collaboratively across the IMSA Model Hub and wider network of IMSAs to support best practice
- To raise awareness of issues of modern slavery, human trafficking, and the experiences of survivors across a range of organisations and individuals, building capacity, knowledge and improving responses to modern slavery and human trafficking
- Support the aims of the IMSA Model and the IMSA Model Development Project, promoting the benefits of independent advocacy and the opportunity to reform responses to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking across the UK
6.Learning and Development:
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the changes in legislation and policy in relation to modern slavery
- Adopt reflective practice approaches, identifying areas for improvement and seeking continued professional development opportunities
- Monitoring policy changes, sharing and reporting on the impact of these changes on survivor outcomes
- Successful completion of the Post Graduate Certificate for IMSAs
7.For all roles:
- Understand and uphold the standards outlined Hope for Justice safeguarding policies, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with our work and reporting concerns if they do arise

The role
You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation at IAA Level 2/3 or Solicitor standard. About the role:
The NEST service provides trauma informed, community-based support to young women and girls aged 14-25 at risk of entering or becoming entrenched in the Criminal Justice System. The role of the NEST Advocate is to provide dedicated one-to-one support to young women and girls, building trusted relationships and coordinating practical support to build their confidence and help stabilise their lives across areas including education, housing, health, employment and interaction with justice services.
As a YWG Senior Advocate you will be responsible for managing a small caseload of young women and girls, while also supervising two YWG Advocates, providing formal and informal supervision and support. This will include oversight of safeguarding for the girls and young women they work with and supporting the quality control of the service, including regular dip-checks and data input.
About You:
To be successful as the YWG Senior Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
- A strong understanding of the challenges facing young women and girls, including the impacts of gang involvement, exploitation, mental health, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.
- Knowledge of trauma informed gendered approaches in supporting young women facing multiple forms of disadvantage.
- Current knowledge of legislation, guidance and regulations relating to safeguarding, child protection and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSE).
- Experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport.
- Experience of risk management, needs assessment, safety and support planning, particularly with young women and girls with complex/multiple needs.

In addition to the around 40 young people we see every day out our centre, New Horizon provides the only youth-specific street outreach service to young people facing homelessness in London. RCJ Advice is an exceptional Citizens Advice and Law Centre delivering national legal advice services, both frontline and second tier, to people who are unable to afford legal representation and advice. We are based within the Royal Courts of Justice, the Central London Family Court and community sites across London, where we deliver local Citizens Advice services.

The project will strengthen referral pathways, increase awareness of legal remedies and build sustainable links between domestic abuse organisations, frontline professionals and legal providers to ensure survivors can access appropriate legal support.
During the first year, the postholder will likely focus on developing the project in Suffolk. This will include mapping existing services, building relationships with domestic abuse organisations and frontline professionals, developing referral pathways and strengthening links with local legal providers.
In years two and three, the postholder will move the focus of the project to new legal aid deserts in England (we have a similar role in Wales) identified during the course of the project, developing new local networks, referral pathways and partnerships to improve access to legal advice and support for domestic abuse survivors in those areas.
Alongside this project development work, the postholder will provide specialist family law advice and support to domestic abuse survivors, including advice on protective remedies such as Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and other family law matters including Domestic Abuse Protection Orders (DAPOs). This will include providing advice through appointments, telephone and email advice, and supporting survivors with CourtNav applications.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with experience of family law and domestic abuse work. They will have strong legal skills, experience of developing partnerships or services, and the ability to build trusted relationships with survivors, professionals and community organisations.
The postholder will work closely with colleagues across RCJ Advice, including the FLOWS team and Family team, sharing learning and contributing to wider organisational work supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
The role will require flexibility to travel across England, including occasional overnight stays, to support delivery of the service, partnership development and engagement activities.
