About us….

Healthwatch England is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services.
Every year our nationwide network speaks to hundreds of thousands of people about their experiences of hospitals, GPs and care services. Using this unique evidence base, we work with the government and those running services to shape health and care support around the needs of people.

Let us tell you a little bit about the role....
We are looking for a passionate external affairs professional to join us and help us to extend our reach, develop the quality of our network and increase our influence.

Helping to lead the Policy and Public Affairs team, you’ll play a central role developing Healthwatch England’s engagement with Government, statutory partners across the NHS and social care sector and a huge range of voluntary sector organisations. Your work will ensure people’s views and experiences help shape decisions at local, regional and national level.
As part of a broader management team, you will also be responsible for building strong cross departmental relationships and helping Healthwatch England take a fully integrated approach to our work.

What we're looking for from you....
The successful candidate will possess outstanding coordination and negotiation skills, strong political nous and an ability to think creatively in order to support the organisation’s leadership to deliver on our ambitious work programmes.
You’ll be an expert in building relationships with a range of influential stakeholders, possess excellent communication skills and have a strong track record in delivering impact through your work.

Healthwatch England is a small, close-knit team so you will also need to be adept at managing multiple priorities and be keen to help make the workplace a really positive place for all.
