About the Role:

As a Regional Manager at Julian House, you’ll play a vital leadership role in tackling homelessness and changing lives for the better. You’ll lead and support a portfolio of frontline services, empowering Service Managers and teams to deliver compassionate, high‑quality support that enables people to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

As part of our Senior Operational Team, you’ll help shape strategy, drive continuous improvement, and embed our values across everything we do. You’ll bring thoughtful leadership, resilience, and creativity — championing innovation while ensuring services remain safe, effective, and person‑centred.

You’ll have oversight of Outreach and Supported Housing services across Exeter, Weymouth, and parts of Somerset, supporting teams who work every day with people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Through your leadership, you’ll strengthen services, nurture talent, and help create sustainable pathways out of homelessness for individuals and communities.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and inspire Service Managers, providing oversight across multiple projects and driving continuous improvement to ensure services thrive within Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE).
• Oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of outreach, support, and accommodation services, fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and excellence.
• Drive performance and impact through robust KPI reporting, using accurate data and high‑quality analysis to identify gaps, implement action plans, and support service improvement.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships, working collaboratively with internal teams and key external stakeholders, including local authorities, probation services, and commissioners.
• Participate in the senior management on‑call rota, providing leadership oversight and back‑up support to local on‑call teams when required.

About the role:

This is a leadership role with real scale, real accountability and real impact. As Services Manager, you’ll lead a multi-site service supporting young people across Greenwich - shaping environments that are safe, consistent and genuinely geared towards helping young people move forward with confidence.

Your presence will be felt across every part of the service. You’ll move between sites, staying close to delivery while holding a clear line of sight on performance, quality and risk. You’ll back your teams to deliver strong, personalised support while keeping a firm grip on housing management, safeguarding and service standards - making sure good practice isn’t occasional, but embedded everywhere.

This is about more than oversight. You’ll build confident, reflective teams who understand young people’s experiences and respond with clarity, consistency and belief in what’s possible. Psychologically informed, trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches won’t sit in policy - you’ll make sure they show up in how teams think, act and support every day.

You’ll also be the connector across the system. Working closely with commissioners, local authorities and partners, you’ll ensure referrals are right, pathways are clear and move-on is intentional from day one. You’ll use data, insight and feedback to challenge drift, drive improvement and keep the service evolving - because standing still isn’t an option when young people are relying on you to get this right.

• You’re an experienced manager who can lead and develop teams across multi-site, accommodation-based services, holding clear accountability for performance and standards.

• You bring experience of working with young people facing multiple disadvantage, and can embed trauma-informed, psychologically informed and strengths-based approaches in practice.

Key responsibilities

• Support, advise and steer communities, and town and parish councillors from their initial interest in providing affordable housing, through scheme inception and pre-development phases to completion, with the aim of increasing the speed of schemes through the pre-development phase.
• Assist communities to identify the nature and extent of affordable local housing need in their community including, where appropriate, through a Housing Needs Survey.
• Assist communities to identify a deliverable site for development of affordable housing and/or secure affordable housing as part of market led schemes.
• Build collaborative partnerships with key partners to provide a clear pathway to a successful planning application and delivery. Partners may include, but are not limited to, local communities, parish councils, housing association staff, officers from the Local Authorities (including in their role as providers of affordable housing) and local developers.
• Provide project management including regular reporting on project progress against workplan and housing pipeline.

Key requirements

• Experience of building and sustaining relationships within and across organisations and sectors, and working collaboratively.
• A highly capable communicator in person and in writing. Able to engage the public, local politicians, and officials on their own terms, whilst remaining independent and trusted.
• Experience delivering research, strategic assessment & planning, data analysis, and evaluation reports.
• Excellent organisational, planning and management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Agile and proactive in approach to challenges and opportunities.
• Able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet strict deadlines.

About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting and varied opportunity to work with Emmaus communities across the South of the UK, helping to raise their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with up to four Emmaus communities to identify their communications needs and deliver a mix of activity to help them achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and build on each other’s experience to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from home or from within an Emmaus community.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to this role. Regular travel to your allocated communities is essential, typically at least once a week, so we are looking for someone based in or around London. You will also attend quarterly team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, although these may occasionally take place elsewhere in the UK and may require an overnight stay.

This is a part-time role, Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 22.5 hours a week (three days) and the potential for the role to be four days a week (30 hours), to be confirmed at interview.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a strong communications skillset and at least two years’ experience in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. While not essential, knowledge of homelessness and the charity sector would be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are essential. You will have a broad range of communications skills, enjoy seeing your ideas come to life and be keen to continue developing your experience within a national homelessness charity.

About the role
This is a fast paced, front line role where you will take ownership of a portfolio of resident accounts, working to reduce arrears and maximise income. You will be in regular contact with residents, negotiating repayment plans and making informed decisions to progress cases.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of accounts to reduce arrears and minimise bad debt
• Negotiating and agreeing repayment plans in line with policies and pre court protocols
• Supporting residents to maximise income through signposting to relevant services

Main Purpose Of The Job:

The Events and Community Fundraiserwill take responsibility for the planning and delivery of Homeless Oxfordshire’s events and third party events, and provide exceptional care to our community fundraisers. Working closely with the Community Fundraising Manager and Partnerships Fundraising Manager and the wider Fundraising and Communiations team, they will plan and run a calendar of events to engage our community and corporate supporters, as well as the general public, with the aim of raising money for and awareness Homeless Oxfordshire.

They will work with the Community Fundraising Manager to develop and build relationships with community and corporate supporters, and give talks to community groups (schools, faith groups, local organisations etc.) to encourage their support for the charity.

Main Areas Of Responsibility:

Events Planning And Delivery

· Oversee planning and delivery of our community and corporate events including the Golf Day, Race Across Oxfordshire, the Business Breakfast, HOxStock, and the Thank You event.

· Liaise with venues, suppliers and contractors to ensure all events are well planned and professionally run.

· Manage all event communications, from invitations, registration, to event day and follow up, ensuring an excellent support journey throughout.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manger on third party events, including Homeless Oxfordshire’s participation in the Oxford Half Marathon, the London Marathon, London to Brighton bike ride and other challenge events.

· Manage and plan event day activity at third party challenge events.

· Support community groups who are running their own “in aid of” events for Homeless Oxfordshire, providing materials and promotion and attending events where appropriate.

· Ensure timely communications and stewardship of all challenge event participants.

Community Fundraising

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager to research and identify community fundraising prospects, and deliver communications and approaches to engage schools, colleges, faith groups and other community organisations.

· Give talks to community groups (schools, faith groups, local organisations etc.) to encourage their support for the charity and represent Homeless Oxfordshire at community fundraising events.

· Support the Partnership Fundraising Manager to steward employee fundraising activities e.g. bake sales, Giftmas collections etc.

· Work with HR and the Community Fundraising Manager to recruit and manage Community Fundraising Volunteers who can give talks to community groups.

· Work with the Community Fundraising Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager to develop presentations and resources to enable volunteers to represent Homeless Oxfordshire at community events.

· Oversee the administration linked to community fundraisers, including updating the database with communications and monitoring and managing fundraising materials.

· Support community fundraisers to use and register on third party platforms e.g. JustGiving, Enthuse, providing encouragement and tips for securing sponsorship and funding.

· Ensure timely and professional communication and interaction with community supporters, and prompt thanking of fundraisers and donors.

· Take responsibility for responding to/redirecting all emails to the shared fundraising inbox.

Julie’s Bicycle delivers the Arts Council England’s Environmental Programme, supporting organisations to embed Environmental Responsibility (ER) within their governance, operations and programmes, and supporting the Arts Council England (ACE) to drive positive environmental change within the sector. The programme focuses on delivering support to National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Investment Principle Support Organisations (IPSOs), as well as the wider creative and cultural sector through a suite of free tools, resources, events and programmes.

Our programme is adaptive, responding to sector needs, insights and learning from delivery. As such, there is a significant opportunity for a collaborative and experienced project manager to deliver strands of work across the programme and to help shape the programme itself in response to learning and insights.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an outstanding and energetic individual to join our team as a Culture and Climate Project Manager, leading and facilitating key strands of work across the programme in partnership with ACE.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Annual Report: project managing, writing and delivering the ACE Annual Report. Drawing together both qualitative and quantitative data, case studies and stories of change to create an annual snapshot of environmental activity across the portfolio. You will work closely with the ACE team Environmental Coordinator on this project. Tasks will include:

  • End-to-end project management: Create and manage the production timeline, ensuring the report is delivered on time and meets Arts Council England (ACE) standards.

  • Data Synthesis: Collaborate with the Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to gather, analyse, and interpret both quantitative (carbon data, metrics) and qualitative (narrative progress) information.

• Demonstrable experience in leading the development of e-learning or online training, whether through content design, learning frameworks, and/or digital/UX production, or transferable experience and skills that could demonstrate you’ll be able to lead deliver this part of the role.

• A degree in environmental science/studies/management/sustainability or related area, or a cultural degree that includes environmental/sustainability intersections or evidence of equivalent relevant expertise.

• Demonstrable experience of partnership working with external organisations and stakeholders, including facilitation of groups across cultural or environmental contexts. Ideally with cultural practitioners, institutions and funders.

• Experience of running consultation and/or action research with cultural or environmental sector individuals and organisations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across different partners and audiences and, ideally, proven ability to translate complex datasets and environmental metrics into accessible, compelling copy.

On the other hand we would discourage the use of generative AI tools in writing your application, as we'd like to understand your personal interest in working for Julie's Bicycle, and be able to understand your non-AI-assisted communication skills just as they are. We also recognise that for many of the people and creative communities we work with, the rise of generative AI poses a threat to their livelihoods, while the environmental impacts of AI are only set to grow: this means we also have a responsibility as Julie's Bicycle to consider where and when (and if) we use AI in our work.
