Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Development Worker to join our Rent Deposit Scheme team based in Lambeth.
About us
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
About the team
Our Rent Deposit Scheme supports young people to access safe, affordable accommodation in the private rented sector. We work closely with landlords, letting agents and local authorities to create housing opportunities and support young people to successfully move into and sustain their own tenancies.
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.
About you
You will have experience working with young people or vulnerable groups and a good understanding of the challenges they may face when moving towards independent living.
You will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to build strong relationships with a range of external partners including landlords, letting agents and local authorities.
You’ll be organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering positive outcomes for young people.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting young people to access accommodation in the private rented sector
- Helping young people understand their tenancy agreements, rights and responsibilities
- Working with landlords, letting agents and partner organisations to secure suitable properties
- Building and maintaining relationships with external partners to increase housing opportunities
- Supporting young people with budgeting, accessing grants and setting up their home
- Ensuring properties meet required standards and all compliance checks are in place

The Role Purpose

Direct Reports

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Prepare and present monthly operational reports to the Chairman and the Board.
- Present Key financial reports in collaboration with the admin assistant.
- Lead the annual business planning process.
- In collaboration with the sales and marketing manager, implement the marketing strategy.
- Act as a guardian of Dunfield’s culture, ensuring the venue remains a "home from home" for all guests.
2. Financial & Commercial Management
- Work with the admin assistant to optimise margins, particularly focusing on energy efficiency and food costs.
- Work with the sales & marketing manager to implement dynamic pricing and improve mid-week occupancy.
- Understands the importance of financial management and has the ability to compile financial reports for Board meetings.
3. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Oversee the site caretaker to ensure rigorous health and safety standards, particularly regarding the indoor pool and fire safety in a high-capacity residential setting.
- Oversee the head of kitchen to ensure 5-star hygiene ratings and efficient volume catering for up to 90 guests.
- Streamline internal processes (booking systems, staff rotas, guest check-ins) to improve efficiency.
- Share duty manager responsibilities.
4. People & Culture
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative environment between the distinct departments.
- Manage recruitment, appraisals, and professional development for the senior team.

- Primary KPI: Achievement of 103 FHE days.
- Secondary KPI: 15% conversion rate of OTA guests to direct bookers.
- Tertiary KPI: Average TRevPAG of £2.00+ per guest.
2. Operational & Capacity KPIs
- Full House Equivalent (FHE) Readiness: While Sales books the days, Operations must ensure the site is "Turnaround Ready." A KPI for "Zero Down-Time" between back-to-back groups.
- The "Pool Availability" Score: A KPI of 98%+ uptime (excluding scheduled maintenance).
- Catering Margin: 70% Gross Profit (GP) on meals by managing waste and seasonal purchasing.
3. Compliance & Duty Management KPIs
- Health & Safety Audit Score: 100% compliance on monthly internal safety checks (Fire, Water/Legionella, Pool, Safeguarding).
- Guest "Home from Home" Satisfaction: A score (derived from post-stay surveys) specifically measuring Cleanliness and Facility Functionality.
- Staff Retention & Training: A target for Staff Turnover <15%.

Experience
- Senior Management: At least 5 years in a senior operational role within hospitality, residential centres, or large-scale venue management.

The Head of Public Fundraising will lead the design and delivery of a mass audience fundraising strategy for The Children’s Trust. Taking a supporter centred approach, the postholder will lead a team of individual giving and relationship fundraisers to generate income through the strategic and long-term engagement of new and existing supporters.

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this exciting new role offers the opportunity to support NHP's internal expertise on Housing; ensure we have strong partnerships with Housing Providers and grow the offers of housing from Housing Providers across the UK, to support our growth as a charity. Essentially with more housing we can establish more Local House Projects (LHPs) and expand those that already exist, and in turn support more young people.
Working closely with senior leadership team (CEO, Director of Practice and Director of Partnerships), this role will lead on developing our first Housing Strategy and ensure we have the internal knowledge, expertise and capacity to grow our housing partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
General

Lead the development and implementation of NHP’s Housing Partnership Strategy in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team ensuring aligned with organisational priorities and growth of NHP.

Build, develop and sustain a strong pipeline of housing partners across all NHP locations- at both a local and national level. Maintain effective relationships with existing providers whilst identifying new business and strategic housing opportunities to grow supply.

The role covers both our Step Down provision—designed for individuals discharged from hospital under the Discharge to Assess model—and our service at Mawle Court, which provides temporary accommodation and support for people with complex needs, including those preparing for more independent living or in need of emergency provision. If so we have a fantastic opportunity at our Brighton store.
Operating within a fast paced environment, you will work effectively and efficiently to maximise income from sales, gift aid, and other promotional activities plus drive donations from the local area. Delivering a great store offer and standards, inspiring your team to give amazing customer service, you will raise funds for and promote the work of YMCA within the local community.
You will have exceptional organisational skills, creative flair and drive which, along with your commercial awareness, will enable you to motivate, develop and inspire your team of paid staff and volunteers. You will be looking for an opportunity to work in an environment that has challenge, excitement and meaning. This role is varied and no two days are the same.

If successful, You will be joining an amazing team and receive support and guidance from your Area Manager, Regional Manager, other Store Managers and the wider Retail team at Head Office.
