Carers’ Resource is a charity which has been supporting unpaid carers for over 30 years across Bradford and North Yorkshire. We offer them information, advice and guidance, support for their emotional and physical health as well as groups and activities to provide time out and peer support. We are looking for a Head of Operations (Carer Services) to effectively lead and manage the delivery of high-quality effective services for unpaid carers, from 5 years old to senior adulthood, across Bradford and North Yorkshire.

This is an exciting new post to take our effective delivery of carer services to new heights in terms of continuously improving the quality of support for unpaid carers and ensuring we enable more unpaid carers from across our communities to access support.

We are seeking a strategic, relationship-focused Head of Development and Philanthropy to lead our fundraising and donor engagement and to oversee our external communications function. This senior role is vital to growing philanthropic income specifically through endowment building by nurturing strong supporter relationships and enhancing the visibility and voice of Devon Community Foundation across Devon.

You will lead on fundraising strategy and delivery, working closely with the CEO and trustees to secure and steward donations from individuals, trusts, corporates, and legacy gifts. We are looking for a dynamic leader with proven fundraising experience to become our new Head of Fundraising, helping When You Wish Upon a Star to make magical memories for sick children. We have recently moved into a modern new office, have appointed a new CEO and are celebrating 35 years of Wish granting across the UK. So, it is an exciting time to join our dedicated team, some of whom work remotely or from our Scotland office.

Your key focus is to grow our income generation, allowing us to grant even more Wishes to children living with life threatening illness. The Head of Fundraising and their team play a huge part in helping us achieve this vision and, occasionally, have some direct engagement with delivering Wishes.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Fundraising will be responsible for developing, directing and delivering the fundraising strategy.  You will be an inspirational leader; motivating the team to promote the Charity and successfully engage external stake holders, including both new and existing supporters, and develop long-term relationships through excellent stewardship.

The successful candidate will be able to manage legacy, grants & trusts, events, corporate and community fundraising. Ensuring that income targets are achieved, along with securing high value donors to support major events and campaigns. Using ThankQ CRM, you will be required to monitor fundraising performance and budget, produce reports, and presenting to the CEO and Trustees.

Population Matters –  Director of Fundraising and Engagement

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in successfully developing and implementing fundraising strategies or plans, including leading a high performing team, as well as experience of securing funding from international sources or experience working in an international/global context. You will also have demonstratable success in developing and/or delivering an individual giving or legacy programme as well as a philanthropy or grant-seeking function.

You will have strong relationship building skills with major donors and individual supporters, able to align their giving needs with Population Matters’ work. Excellent communication skills will be combined with a resilient and optimistic approach and the ability to work independently with professional drive. Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & income generation 

· Trusts & grants: Research, write, and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

· Corporate & individual giving: Work alongside Service Delivery Manager and Deputy Service Manager to develop relationships with corporate sponsors and individual donors, creating engagement opportunities.

Person Specification

Essential skills & experience

· Fundraising knowledge: Understanding of trust, foundation, and corporate fundraising, with proven experience of writing successful grant applications.

At Northampton Students’ Union, our Sports Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enriching the student experience through sport. By overseeing over 35 free-to-join sports clubs, they ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students, regardless of background or ability. Their responsibilities include managing sports programming, coordinating events like Varsity and Sports Awards, and fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. By supporting student-led initiatives and promoting participation, the Sports Development Coordinator helps create a vibrant, active campus community.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Book internal and external facilities for training and fixtures.  Ensure that the clubs use suitable facilities of an appropriate standard, while following SU procedures and maintaining good relationships with the facility provider.
2. Operational responsibility for all SU affiliated sports activity, including approving risk assessment and dealing with all accident reports for sports clubs.
3. To ensure that appropriate process is followed when disciplinary issues occur with Sports Clubs.
4. To lead on Sports Awards and Varsity, to ensure a safe and relevant event is delivered.
5. To feed into the budget-setting process, and be responsible for spending the Sports budget, following financial processes accordingly.
6. To support all sports club volunteers in the development and delivery of their activities and events.
7. Responsible for the growth and development of new sports and developing processes that enable students to either set up new activities or expand current activities.
8. To be the organisation’s main point of contact for British Universities and Colleges Sport.

16. Write and develop a training programme for all student sports leaders, focusing on empowering them to complete their roles independently via clearly communicated and transparent processes and enhancement of their soft skills to complete the role.
17. Develop systems that empowers students to take ownership of setting up new activities or expand current activities.
18. Alongside an elected officer, represent Northampton Students’ Union at all BUCS regional meetings, ensuring that we are updated on University Sport development.
19. To support clubs with the recruitment of all paid and volunteer coaches, and ensuring they adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct and other supporting documents.
20. Pro-actively encourage student sports leaders to record and reflect on their skill development.
21. Manage and provide mentorship for the Sports Administrator and any other student staff roles working within Sport at the Union.

Schools Coordinator

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Schools Coordinator (Impact Officer) to work as the primary link between partner schools and the CYUK programme.

This youth and education charity empowers diverse 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time volunteering in schools. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, the charities volunteers support children who are furthest away from opportunity in the UK.

Position: Schools Coordinator (internal title School Impact Officer)

School locations: SE11 5QY and SE19 3NY - 4 days school based

Training location: E1 6EG - 1 day per week (with some working from home)

Working schedule: Term-time working (except for the second half of August)

Hours: Working hours are 8:00-4:30, Monday to Friday.

The Role

We have a rewarding opportunity for a School Impact Officer to train, support and develop volunteers and monitor the programme through effective administration, data management and to build a deep partnership between the school and the charity.

The Impact Officer is based predominantly in a school and is the primary link between the partner schools and the programme and is the enabler of the programme delivery.  You will support a team of volunteer mentors, who support school activities by coordinating, managing and evaluating the programme.

The Volunteer Mentors also complete a Leadership and Development programme and you will work with them on a professional development plan to chart their continuous professional development and ready them for employment.

The role is primarily a school-based post from Monday to Thursday and is based in a regional venue on most Fridays. See locations above.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about social change and serving a great cause. As the School Impact Officer, you will strive for excellence and support the core vision and values of the charity.

We are currently looking for a Boat Station Manager to join our team.

About the role

The manager is instrumental in facilitating and delivering life changing, positive on the water experiences for young people. As an expert practitioner, they will provide leadership, development and mentoring to their team of instructors. The post will require strong organisational skills.

The Manager is an employee of the Marine Society & Sea Cadets based at our Crosby Boat Station. The post holder is required to hold and maintain the following qualifications as a condition of employment: RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor and RYA Powerboat Instructor.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage a water-sports training facility in the Liverpool area for all Sea Cadet Units and other affiliates to the Boat Station.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day running of the Boat Station.
• Ensure that all visiting groups and their staff are fully briefed on the Boat Station’s policies and procedures and that there is adequate supervision of Cadets and young people at the facility, so as to discharge their duty of care for them.
• Oversee the Chief Instructor and all other sessional Instructors using the Boat Station.
• Manage the Boat Station’s accounts in liaison with the Regional Finance Manager including day to day fees.
• Ensure that best practise in accordance with the NGB guidelines and requirements following our Inshore Boating Operating Standard.

Requirements

• RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor
• RYA Powerboat Instructor
• Leading outdoor activities with a wide range of groups, individuals and abilities
• Developing and implementing training programmes and strategies
• Budget/financial management
• Experience and knowledge of boat routine maintenance and repair
• Experience delivering afloat instruction/training

• Experience/knowledge of uniformed and/or youth organisations
• RYA Advanced Dinghy Instructor

The Woodland and Nature Recovery Manager at Western Forest will manage the delivery of high-quality forestry, woodland and nature recovery activities within the Western Forest. This role ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) and focuses on woodland creation, agroforestry and sustainable forest management. The manager will oversee a team of five officers, based primarily within partnership organisations, and work closely with England’s Community Forests and many other partners to maximise impact.

This role will enable the sharing of expertise across the Western Forest area.

A key focus will be to work with partners across the region to seek out opportunities to create large scale woodland creation projects that will deliver at landscape scale. These new projects will seek alternative funding streams that will generate a variety of activities such as tree planting, timber production and biodiversity protection.

Are you an experienced project manager who is passionate about climate action? 

At Community First Yorkshire, we will be delivering a three-year National Lottery funded partnership programme designed to inspire and empower communities and the VCSE sector to take meaningful climate action. We need someone to lead on this exciting, collaborative initiative, shaping a greener, more sustainable future for North Yorkshire.

What you’ll be doing 

In this role, you’ll be leading of team of four, including two Climate Action Officers, an Impact Communications Officer and a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. You’ll use your project management skills to co-ordinate and implement the Village Green programme, overseeing the delivery of activities, finances, marketing material and monitoring and evaluation work. You will work closely with our programme partners to maintain strong governance and build connections with our wider stakeholders to amplify the impact of climate action efforts.
Part of your role will be overseeing the co-design elements of the programme, ensuring community engagement is inclusive, impactful and innovative. You’ll also support with the wider VCSE sector in North Yorkshire, offering guidance on climate action initiatives and commissioning external expertise to deliver key elements of the programme.

What we’re looking for 

We are seeking candidates with all-round excellent project management skills, who can lead a team whilst overseeing the core elements of the programme. Ideally, you’ll understand climate issues and have a commitment to advancing sustainability efforts. You’ll have experience of monitoring, evaluation, and stakeholder collaboration, working with funders to share valuable insights.

Salary: £26,031 per annum to £27,349 per annum (plus up to £4,677 regional weighting allowance) – based on scale point 16 – 18 on AUK’s pay scale
