Location:  Huddersfield Town Centre Office. Partnership work across Kirklees required. Hybrid and flexible working pattern available.

Salary: NJC Scale SCP 29-32 (£39,862 - £42,839 pro rata). Starting salary SCP 29, increasing to SCP 30 after a successful probationary period.

Hours: 37 hours per week (negotiable part-time hours available).

The Role

About You

You will be a strategic and hands on finance leader who combines professional credibility with sound judgement, collaborative leadership and the ability to influence at the highest levels of an international organisation.

You will bring substantial experience of leading financial matters  within a complex organisation and will be equally comfortable discussing long-term strategy with senior leaders as you are ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.

You will have:

• A professional accounting qualification and membership of a UK or internationally recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification experience in senior finance leadership roles.
• Extensive experience of board governance, audit, treasury management, investment oversight and risk management.
• Strong experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial control.
• Experience of ensuring compliance with UK financial, tax and regulatory requirements within a UK-regulated organisation.

Purpose of role

We are looking for an exceptional programme leader to help us achieve our ten-year ambition. The Director of Programme Delivery leads Lumos' global programme portfolio, ensuring the organisation delivers high-quality and impactful programmes that contribute to sustainable systems change for children and families. About the role:

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will have input into how Rainbow Trust manages its IT, property and facilities, and fleet - while also leading on the day-to-day operational infrastructure across the organisation, including overall responsibility for our IT infrastructure and security. The role holder will act as the primary internal point of contact for our Managed Service Provider, overseeing service delivery, SLAs, and ensuring our IT infrastructure remains secure, compliant and fit for purpose

Managing the office facilities, leases, and contracts across our head office and nine regional sites, you will lead on contract negotiation and supplier management, managing a central administration budget and project manage office moves and operational projects.

With a focus on improving the efficiency of our systems, processes and ways of working, you will also line manage our Fleet Administrator, overseeing our fleet of 80 leased vehicles and be an integral part of decision making.

This is a substantive management role with real ownership, and meaningful variety - ideal for an experienced operations professional with a sound understanding of Microsoft Administration and cyber security ready to take on a broad remit in a values-driven organisation.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The People and Culture (P&C) Director works in a highly matrixed environment with staff from several functions across the global organisation. The postholder manages the HR team in IRC UK and is accountable for effective HR service delivery, HR compliance and continuous improvement within the scope of the People & Culture department, localising the IRC’s global people strategy. This position plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture that aligns with IRC’s values, through exceptional communication skills.

The role jointly reports into the UK Executive Director and Regional Director, P&C Europe – with additional reporting accountabilities to the UK Board’s People and Culture Committee. Working within global frameworks set by Global People & Culture, the role localises the implementation of People & Culture priorities and drives UK-specific change initiatives within IRC UK’s culture and regulatory environment.

As a member of the UK Senior Management Team (SMT), the role is jointly accountable for the delivery of IRC UK’s Strategic Plan, and has responsibility for the effective delivery of P&C priorities. The Director has a keen focus on building leadership competencies and organisational effectiveness.

Success in this role requires the ability to build strong relationships, influence decisions, and navigate multiple stakeholder perspectives to deliver effective people solutions within a matrix environment where accountability is shared.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. P&C Leadership (Advisory, Implementation, and Partnering) (25%)

• Serve as an advisor and thought partner to the Executive Director and fellow SMT members on the UK application of IRC’s Global P&C strategy, and lead on strengthening IRC UK’s kind, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture.

• Support talent dialogues, performance conversations, and career development planning for IRC UK staff, embedding a culture of continuous learning.

• Partner with peers on workforce planning — including managing workforce adjustments such as staff reductions or scale-up, and organisational design work — in partnership with senior management, the Regional Director P&C Europe, and Global P&C Partners, ensuring compliance with local and global policy while minimising risk and supporting affected staff.

• Translate data and metrics into actionable items in line with IRC UK’s strategy.

• Lead, supervise, and develop the UK P&C team, accountable for team quality and effectiveness and for building a skilled, motivated team ready to advance.

2. Manage HR Service Delivery and Core Operations (~40%)

• Manage end-to-end HR service delivery across the employee lifecycle; recruitment, onboarding, contracts, payroll coordination, benefits, performance and leave management, offboarding, and HR information systems, maintaining high-quality, context-specific P&C practices aligned with organisational standards.

• Provide leadership on UK employment law and regulation to the UK HR team, ensuring the HR team supports supervisors of UK staff in the management of their teams in a supportive and compliant way.

• Provide high quality HR partnership to the Refugee, Asylum and Integration (RAI) UK Director and team to support programme needs and donor requirements.

• Advise supervisors on appropriate disciplinary actions, coordinating with Global Employee Relations and Legal on complex or escalated disciplinary proceedings, to ensure fairness and compliance with employment law.

• Responsible for P&C reporting for the UK Board of Trustees and People & Culture Committee, and for the annual production of IRC UK's Gender Pay Gap and Ethnicity Pay Gap reports, in line with IRC's global P&C reporting standards and applicable UK statutory requirements.

• Support any organisational restructure requirements, including active management of any necessary staff consultation and resulting redundancy processes, by providing expert guidance to management and affected staff throughout the process.

• Track UK P&C objectives set by Global P&C and contribute HR input - organisational structure, position scoping, staffing analysis - to proposal design and grant review processes.

• Lead the delivery of regular staff engagement surveys, analysing data and proposing leadership actions in response.

3. Workplace Culture (~15%)

• Promote employee experience, engagement, and inclusion, and oversee the integration of IRC's Values (the ‘IRC Way’), People Manager Standards, and Employee Success Factors across the employee lifecycle.

• Implement safeguarding standards set by the global Safeguarding function across hiring and onboarding, and ensure the IRC Way and reporting channels are visible in all IRC UK locations.

• Serve as a local advocate for Employee Wellbeing, Employee Engagement, and Safeguarding priorities set by global functions, and role model safe, inclusive, and caring leadership standards.

• Operate and promote collaboration in a highly matrixed environment where several units intersect and work together to reach joint decisions.

• Accountable  for the effective delivery of specific P&C-owned elements of IRC UK's Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Strategy and Action Plan, as well as assuming joint accountability for the full GEDI Strategy and Action Plan as a key member of IRC UK SMT.

4. Trade Union Relationship (~20%)

• Working with the UK Executive Director, maintain the relationship with UK Trade Union (Unite) representatives, and negotiate and consult via the quarterly Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC), driving progress on policy and annual salary review negotiations.

• Develop and manage union engagement and communication plans that support open, honest, and productive dialogue across the office.

We are looking for an Executive Director to lead GFI Europe’s strategy and team, play a key role in shaping and advancing GFI’s global strategy, and foster the relationships and organisational strength needed to accelerate the shift towards a resilient and sustainable food system.

• Fundraising acumen. You bring an understanding of the philanthropic sector and donor relationships, or of fundraising in other sectors (eg, the private sector or government), while deferring to the fundraising team’s expertise on how donor relationships are best managed.

• Strong communication skills. An ability to convincingly articulate and explain our mission and work and to represent the organisation in the media, with programmatic stakeholders, and with donors. Comfort adapting your tone and message for different audiences across diverse cultures, and excellent verbal and written English skills.

• Flexible approach to work. We estimate that travel will account for approximately six weeks of the year. This will likely consist of two GFI Europe team-wide retreats (3-5 days each), one leadership retreat (2-3 days), other sporadic trips generally lasting 1-3 days, and occasional longer trips of approximately 5-7 days (for conferences and donor or partner meetings across Europe and internationally). In addition, you will need occasional flexibility in your working hours to accommodate coordination with other affiliates around the world.

• Integrity. You do what you say you’ll do, and are discreet when handling confidential information.

It would be an advantage to have the following, though none are prerequisites:

• Sector familiarity. Familiarity with or experience working in the food system, alternative proteins or an adjacent sector in Europe.

• Impact leadership. Strong knowledge and/or experience of being part of the leadership team of a nonprofit, think tank or other social impact-focused organisation.

• Governance and compliance experience. Experience with legal representation and board reporting, and/or experience working on nonprofit compliance, especially in Belgium.

• Fundraising partnership experience. You’ve contributed to fundraising in a supportive capacity – whether managing a fundraising function, advising on donor and prospect strategy, joining donor conversations alongside a development team, or shaping fundraising strategy at an executive level.

• Network experience. Experience working in one or more network models (eg, affiliate or franchise-style, federation, confederation, etc).

• Languages. The ability to work in European languages in addition to English.

Purpose of the job

The Head of Network Development will lead the operationalisation of UK Youth’s new We Back Youth Work Leaders strategic pillar.  Portfolio leadership and delivery

• Ensure effective management of the full grant lifecycle, including programme design, application and assessment, due diligence, decision-making, contracting, payments, monitoring, reporting, complaints and closure.

• Maintain robust and proportionate grant governance, financial controls, safeguarding assurance, risk management, data quality and compliance with funder and regulatory requirements.

• Lead an integrated organisational development offer alongside grant funding, enabling smaller youth and outdoor learning organisations to strengthen their financial sustainability, leadership, governance, workforce and resilience.

• Embed open, trusting, accessible and equitable grant-making practice, reducing unnecessary barriers while maintaining appropriate accountability.

Network and sector infrastructure support

• Develop and deliver UK Youth’s approach to engaging, connecting and supporting our national network, informed by the needs and experiences of youth work leaders and organisations.

• Create opportunities for peer learning, collaboration, knowledge exchange and access to relevant support across the network.

• Lead major initiatives that strengthen youth sector infrastructure locally, regionally and nationally, working with partners to improve the consistency, coordination and accessibility of support.

• Support regional and national partners to understand need, develop shared plans and approaches, and deliver locally relevant infrastructure and organisational support.

• Work with the Communications Team and relevant colleagues to ensure network communications are timely, accessible, coordinated and purposeful.

Experience we're after

• Substantial leadership experience within the youth sector, grounded in an in-depth understanding of youth work practice, youth work leadership and the realities facing youth organisations and their leaders.

• Experience of leading a complex, multi-year network development or comparable portfolio, translating strategy and funded commitments into successful delivery and managing significant budgets and risks.

• Experience of leading substantial grant making or onward funding activity, including governance, due diligence, financial oversight, risk and accountability.

• Substantial organisational development and capacity building experience, including diagnosing organisational needs and designing practical support that strengthens leadership, governance, financial sustainability, workforce and resilience.

• Experience of developing networks, partnerships or infrastructure across multiple organisations, regions or systems, with demonstrable credibility among youth organisation leaders.

Main Responsibilities 

As the Data and Membership Officer for the Living Wage Foundation (LWF), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth running of our internal processes and supporting our network of nearly 17,000 accredited Living Wage employers. Your responsibilities will span data management, customer service, finance administration, and team support. You will contribute to effective data management by supporting system updates, maintaining high-quality records on platforms such as Salesforce and ActOn, and generating reports for use by senior management.

Additionally, you will coordinate the administration and reconciliation of credit card payments and act as a liaison between the CUK Finance and LWF teams. In the area of customer service, you will manage our Employer support email inbox, respond to queries, and escalate complex issues as needed. You will also be responsible for updating internal systems, supporting merchandise and branding requests, and representing the Foundation in both written and verbal correspondence. Team support duties will include arranging logistics for team events, providing occasional administrative assistance to senior leadership, and ensuring internal handbooks and guidance remain current.  Throughout all areas of your work, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the LWF Team to ensure we meet the needs and expectations of our employer network and other key stakeholders. 

Working as the Data and Membership Officer for the Living Wage Foundation, reporting to Senior Data and Insight Manager (LWF Operations and Insight team) your main responsibilities will include: 

Project Management 

• Support LWF team with good data management, reviewing employer pipeline numbers, reporting to Senior Management Team (SMT) when there are issues or delays. 

• Clean employer data, escalating complex issues to relevant colleagues. 

• Support the Senior Data and Insight Manager to maintain high-quality data across our systems, including Salesforce (CRM) and ActOn (marketing email platform). 

• Support the Operations and Insight Team with testing and implementation of new systems and processes. 

Learning and expertise 

• Keep internal handbooks and guidance up to date with ways of working practices, systems and policies, working with the LWF team to consider and implement improvements to make LWF an efficient and positive place of work. 

• Create and share basic reports from Salesforce for use by the team and SMT. 

Communications 

• Represent the Living Wage Foundation coherently in writing and verbally. 

• Work collaboratively with the team and across Citizens UK to ensure that we are meeting the customer service expectations of our employer network and stakeholders. 

Develop and manage external relationships 

• Manage our Accreditation Inbox, including responding to simple accreditation or form questions, and escalating more complex questions where necessary in a timely and helpful manner. 

• Update Moneypenny (LWF switchboard) on team changes, holidays etc. Receive and respond to general enquiries received through the switchboard. 

• Support on Employer Merchandise and branding requests where required, ensuring timely delivery and clear correspondence.

Develop and manage internal relationships 

• With Operations & Data Officer, support the LWF team to book items in and out of LWF merchandise library. 

• Arrange logistics for LWF all staff Away Day.

• Provide Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with occasional administrative support including booking travel, rooms, and making purchases when necessary. 

Income and resources 

• Coordinate the administration and reconciliation of credit card payments. 

• Liaise between CUK Finance team and LWF team, ensuring each team is updated on processes and working cross-team to ensure good communication. 

• Administration of LWF Away Day budget. 

Contribute towards Citizens UK’s strategic objectives 

• Responsibility for delivering agreed areas of the Foundation’s work plan.

• Work collaboratively with the LWF team and across Citizens UK to ensure that we are meeting the expectations of our network and stakeholders.

• Display self-awareness of DEI issues and good practice, considering impact on direct reports and stakeholders.

• Understand how your role contributes to the purpose of the Foundation and the core mission of Citizens UK.

About the Innovation and Project Officer role

Supporting innovation across the organisation, you will help to develop and deliver programmes that grow our membership, reach and influence. You will lead the day-to-day management of pilot projects that test new initiatives and engagement opportunities with new audiences, monitoring and evaluating outcomes to capture insights and valuable learning that helps shape the direction of the organisation. This role will involve developing project plans, timelines and key deliverables to monitor project progress and ensure success. You will carry out qualitative and quantitative research to identify the current and changing needs of women to support organisational decision-making and drive innovation in everything that we do.

Location: Hybrid working, with one day per week at our London, Oxfordshire or Wales office.

About you

You should be experienced in supporting organisational development within membership settings, and skilled in project design and delivery. You will have strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to communicate your findings to diverse audiences. You should have a methodical approach to project management, and be able to confidently engage and build relationships with stakeholders and different audiences. Familiarity in overseeing budgets would be beneficial, as would some knowledge of the trends affecting the voluntary sector, but above all a passion for supporting initiatives that contribute to organisational growth and change will be key to your success in the role.
