About this role 

AMR is a global problem which many believe is bigger than climate change in terms of both potential impact (the end of modern medicine as we know it) and urgency. While many of the solutions are long-term in nature, in the UK we can address many issues right now which will reduce the harm from AMR, meaning that less people die and many more people will avoid reduced quality of life. 

In 2025 Antibiotic Research UK changed its name to AMR Action UK, with an ambitious strategy to address the harm from AMR across all four nations of the UK. This post plays a vital role in a passionate and driven team generating sustainable fundraising income and building the foundations for AMR Action UK’s vision and long-term impact. 

Purpose of the role 

To shape and deliver a balanced, strategic and proactive programme of trusts and foundations fundraising, achieving immediate targets whilst cultivating and developing partnerships for the future.

This role leads the strategic direction and delivery of all marketing and fundraising activity, ensuring that our cause resonates with the public, stakeholders, and supporters. Through powerful storytelling, brand development, and diversified fundraising, the postholder will inspire action, deepen supporter relationships, and generate the resources needed to sustain and grow our charitable work. This role is essential to ensuring our message is heard, our impact is visible, and our mission is supported by an engaged and growing community.

What you will do:

Marketing & Communications

• Develop and deliver a global marketing, PR, and fundraising strategy.
• Manage digital channels, campaigns, media relations, and crisis communications.
• Produce impactful content and materials (reports, newsletters, speeches, press releases).

Fundraising

Overview of the role

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategic leadership

About the role

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.

This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more. 

You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates. 

Bristol and Somerset is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from Bristol hospitals, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

The Role

As a Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraising Area Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of membership fundraisers based primarily in the West Midlands with coverage across Shropshire and Worcestershire and this wider vibrant area.
