Salary: Starting at £36,477 FTE per annum, rising to £40,699* FTE per annum, Grade 4 (point 29-33)

Location: Ideally based in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire or Greater London (north) with the ability to travel within this region when required.

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)

We are flexible on hours of work and open to discussing part-time hours and other flexible working options - it is expected that for the period 3-9 months after the role begins, travel to an office base in the above listed regions will be required 2-3 times per week. The Pepper Pot Centre is a vital, Caribbean & other  BME  community resource for the over 60s in Kensington & Chelsea and neighbouring Boroughs,  seeking to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness and help our members to take charge of their lives and  live in a healthy and independent manner.

Having formally opened our doors in 1981, we are a meeting place for older and retired members of the community and a day centre that provides a balanced Caribbean meal, recreational and cultural activities and lots more. In 1976 & 2006 was visited by the late Queen and by the Duchess of Cornwall in2020.

We are now seeking a part-time Events Coordinator to join our team for a one-year, fixed term contract, working 21 hours per week.

About the role

This is a phenomenal opportunity for a proactive and community-focused individual with a strong grasp of the needs of older people from Caribbean backgrounds and other BME communities to take an exciting step in their career with our organisation.

We are looking for a highly organised and creative  Events Coordinator to join our  growing team to plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of events  targeted specifically at our 60+ community e.g. trips/visits to parks, museums, Theatre, Seaside and more.

Our new Events Coordinator  will support the planning and delivery of a key part of our work, namely: the management of our events programme designed to combat and prevent isolation, loneliness and depression amongst our elders. They will work closely with our sponsor,  Global Radio – LBC, Capital Xtra, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, talkSPORT and more.

Specifically, you will:

• Develop an Events programme, trips, visits, excursions designed to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness.
• Publicise our programme of events, and activities via digital media, leaflet distribution, open days, and word of mouth etc.
• Support and encourage our members to attend the Events programme of activities.
• Recruit train and organise team of volunteers to support and expand the Events programme. 
• Plan, organise administer and accompany members on trips, visits and excursions within and outside the UK and you may be required to work outside normal office hours.
• Produce written reports for the management committee and our sponsor Global Radio.
• Evaluate the success of events through feedback mechanisms, attendance records, and make recommendations
• Adhere to PPC’s internal administrative protocols and procedures, including the Finance Procedures, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection policies.
• With the Director, regularly review and update risk assessments for events.

About you

Essential:

• Understanding the essential needs of older people from Caribbean  backgrounds and other BME communities
• Previous experience of successfully coordinating events
• Experience of both planned and reactive approaches to event planning/work Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills with a methodical approach to working on several tasks simultaneously and working to deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively  diverse populations and build rapport with clients

The Digital Content Manager role sits in the Knowledge Dissemination Department of the Schools Division. We are seeking to appoint a Financial and Management Accountant – Commercial and Projects for the Museum and its trading company (RAFMEL), as part of a small finance team. This is a varied role, encompassing a wide range of financial responsibilities, and the successful candidate will act as business partner to the RAFMEL commercial teams and Museum project leads, providing reporting and analysis to support decision-making, developing monthly performance reports to monitor progress and investigate variances, whilst also being responsible for day-to-day financial operations.

The successful candidate will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the small finance team and build relationships with non-finance heads of departments. You will be experienced in working to deadlines and have an attention for detail required to produce accurate first-time reports. Proficiency in Excel is essential and experience working with Sage200 is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities of our Financial and Management Accountant include:

• Taking responsibility for preparation and first review of monthly management accounts (including income and expenditure statement, balance sheet, cashflow statement, funds summary, 3 salary summary) and performance reports for RAFMEL, in an accurate and timely fashion, including any associated commentary and key performance indicators (KPI)
• Being responsible for accurate recording of all income and expenditure associated with RAFMEL and the Museum’s major projects
• Reconciliation of daily takings sheets reports from both sites and accurate monthly reporting of income by activity
• Preparation and posting of all journals for RAFMEL, such as accruals, prepayments deferred income, salaries and payroll, intercompany transactions
• Developing and providing performance reports to monitor progress, investigate variances and update forecasts for major projects for the Museum & RAFMEL as required, taking ownership of the processes required
• Identifying and agreeing performance indicators with senior managers for the Museum and establishing the processes for collecting the data
• Supporting coordination of formal Internal Audit reviews across the Museum and follow up on actions identified, working with the Director of Finance & Resources and Senior Leadership Team

What we are looking for in our Financial and Management Accountant:

• Full Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or overseas equivalents) or part qualified
• Experience with Sage200 accounting and reporting

About You

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to: Head of Support and Care (Registered Manager)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm

NB Service Coordinators are required to balance management administration with being present in the group's houses. This necessitates some occasional evening and weekend work to be agreed with their line manager.

Salary: £35,000 per annum (with an increment in the second year) 
Place of work: L’Arche London community houses and office (all within a walking distance, based in West Norwood, London)

Main purpose of the role:

- To lead and manage the Oak Group, one of three groups in the L'Arche London community, comprising of a range of services for people with learning disabilities and its team of assistants. 
- To lead the service delivery within this group in line with L'Arche values, standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC]. 
- To play an active role in the leadership of L'Arche London, helping shape a vibrant community of people with and without learning disabilities.

Leadership and People Management:

- Supervise and work with the Deputy Service Coordinator to lead a team of 15 Support Assistants. Ensure each assistant in the group is regularly supervised, trained, and appraised, and that action is taken to effectively manage performance issues.
- Understand the requirements of the CQC and other relevant legislation and ensure that all applicable standards are met including adult safeguarding. 
- As part of the Community Coordinating Team, implement appropriate policies and procedures, promoting the wider L'Arche mission, vision and values.
- Be on the On-Call rota every 6 - 8 weeks, with flexibility as service requires. (Additional pay provided.) 
- Contribute to the recruitment/ interviewing of Assistants.

Provision of Support to People with Learning Disabilities

- Ensure the provision of high quality personalised support for each person with a learning disability in the Oak group, implementing Person Centred Support Plans to maximise independence, personal choice, and autonomy.
- Enable each person with learning disabilities to feel at home, encouraging both individuality and belonging, ensuring that everyone is informed of their rights and responsibilities as a member of the Community group and as a tenant.
- Support each person to manage various aspects of their life, from their personal budgets to their health and well-being.
- On occasion, provide one-to-one support to people with learning disabilities at home or in the community.

Administration and Management

- Maintain high standards of communication and record keeping, ensuring an effective flow of information within the Group, with the rest of L'Arche London, the local community, family and professionals.
- Work closely with the Deputy Service Coordinator to oversee the work rota.

Creating Community

- Attend and organise Community events and celebrations relevant to the role and foster a sense of welcome for all visitors and friends; ensure a regular rhythm of prayer and reflection in accordance with the traditions of L’Arche.

General

- Attend training and personal development courses as required.
- Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post which may be required from time to time.

What We Offer

- This post is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check; and a satisfactory right to work check as appointees must have the right to work in the UK.
- There is no additional pay for overtime, but Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given and agreed with the line manager when circumstances require the post-holder to work extra hours. TOIL should be taken within 2 weeks of being accrued.
- All Service Coordinators are the on-call rota for 1 week every 6 - 8 weeks. There is an additional payment of £56 a week for being on-call.
- Paid holiday allowance of 33 days leave per year. (This total is inclusive of 8 days in lieu of bank holidays).
- Service Coordinators will be provided with a programme of personal development and training including opportunities to study for QCF qualifications in social care and leadership development through L'Arche in the UK's leadership development programme.

We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

Kitchen Assistants x 2 – Day Care Centres 

Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit two Kitchen Assistants across our two Day Care Centres based in Kings Cross and Hampstead. (Staff are expected to be able to work at both locations as required) 

We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs.  

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch which enjoyed by our clients. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Support the Chef and other Day Centre staff in food service delivery during lunch time periods 

• Support the Chef and other Day Centre staff in the preparation of food and drink 

• Be responsible for keeping kitchen areas clean, tidy and sanitized 

• Be responsible for washing up of all dirty dishes, cooking utensils and other cooking equipment 

• Supervise kitchen trainees in appropriate skills. (when applicable) 

• Ensure that the kitchen is clean, orderly and managed to the highest standards of food hygiene and safety at all times.
