The important stuff

Key Responsibilities
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.
Line Management and training
- Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
- Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.
Church Community
- The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
- Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.
Site management and set-up
- Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.
In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales.
Central to this is the evaluation team. The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.
The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects.
Key responsibilities
The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence.
Evaluation
Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will:

Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee.

Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds.

Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation.

Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations.

Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose.

Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance.
Team management
The post holder will likely lead the recruitment, management and development of a team of Evaluation Officers and will:

Hybrid working details

About The Access Project
We support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring. We work with them to make good applications, get the grades and transition to university. Our volunteers are trained and supported to be effective tutors who work with our students for an hour a week to raise their grades. About the role
This role is available at an important time for The Access Project as we expand our mission, seek to pilot a new programme model, and move into new school contexts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the skills for programme improvement, a strong interest in research, and a deep passion for our mission to support students to place and succeed at selective universities.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is comfortable working across teams to make change. You’ll be the lead and expert on The Access Project’s in-school university readiness work with responsibility for designing and quality assuring the provision, supporting the learning and development for our school-based staff to effectively deliver the programme content. This position is integral to ensuring The Access Project is delivering a high-quality programme that supports the needs of our students and drives the outcomes of the programme across all regions and schools. The postholder will also be responsible for amplifying The Access Project’s voice in the sector and responding to policy updates; with a focus on bringing their knowledge of the Higher Education sector and the experiences of our students to decisions about the direction of our own programme. They will also support further development of our programme-level Diversity and Inclusion work, to ensure that the programme is tailored where feasible to the needs of all students.
Duties and responsibilities
1) Design & Development
- Act as a senior collaborator to the annual programme design process. Work with the Head of Process Improvement & Programme Quality to incorporate University Access Officer, Programme Leadership, school, and student feedback on how best to drive our short term and long-term outcomes across our programmes.
- Project manage the implementation of changes driven out of programme design. This includes the creation of or changes to delivery resources and training materials, as well as to our university readiness framework and the Salesforce system that supports delivery.
- Work with Programme Managers to understand their delivery challenges, develop solutions and answer questions around university admissions, widening access and The Access Project’s own University Readiness Programme.
- Act as a senior contributor to the development of The Access Project’s programmatic Diversity and Inclusion work, working closely with the University Access Officer D&I Lead. This includes strong engagement with the D&I working group and designing and implementing systems and support to better serve our students with inclusion needs.
2) Research and Policy
- remain critically engaged with the widening participation/social mobility sector, and able to synthesise key changes/challenges and ensure that they are applicable/actionable by the organisation.
- Ensure that any relevant widening participation sector developments and trends are fed into The Access Project’s way of working. For example, this might be changes to resources for the programme or working with colleagues to communicate with students (e.g. on plans for A Level Results Day).
- To be an ambassador of The Access Project’s work and impact externally in the widening participation sector, including speaking at conferences, writing articles on our work, and engaging in external relations.
- Holding responsibility for The Access Project’s policy and research workstream, including contributing to the strategic direction of this work and undertaking research to drive the delivery of this workstream to promote The Access Project’s voice in the widening participation sector.
- Liaising closely with the Communications team to ensure that The Access Project’s responses to sector information and updates are timely and relevant to our Mission.
- Provide nuanced insight about the widening participation/Higher Education sector, with a clear take / coherent view on the landscape and how it’s changing, which would then enable us to make informed choices about our programme.
3) Quality Assurance
- Take responsibility for the operational implementation of the university readiness strand of the quality assurance strategy, to drive the quality of the activities The Access Project delivers to young people in schools.
- Participate in The Access Project’s quality assurance processes, including performing drop-ins on University Access Officers’ programme delivery, and coordinating with other members of the team to perform drop-ins in an efficient and effective manner.
- Embed learning from The Access Project’s quality assurance process into our standard practice. This will include delivering training and development sessions for University Access Officers, updates to resources and guidance for what best practice looks like.
- Contribute research on wider pedagogical best practice into our quality assurance work to ensure the highest quality in our delivery of educational programmes.
4) Student Voice
- Maximising student voice within programme design through the organisation and facilitation of student Delivery Review Meetings.
- Lead the development and administration of The Access Project’s annual student survey, considering the needs of key stakeholders across the organisation.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is an independent charity committed to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their carers, family, and friends.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Cancer Information Specialist Nurse, and are seeking an experienced, flexible, and dynamic NMC registered nurse to join our team.
At Cherry Lodge, we work alongside the clinical care of the NHS in an area centred on Barnet and covering much of North London and South Hertfordshire. We are based at the very friendly and welcoming Cherry Lodge Centre, in Union Street, Chipping Barnet. We also have an Outreach Service with an impact across the borough of Barnet, concentrating particularly on providing information and support to members of black and minority ethnic groups. Our Befriending Service provides additional support for people in their own homes.
Job Purpose:
To act as a specialist information resource for the management of people with cancer, their carers, and families.
To co-ordinate, manage and develop the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care (CLCC) information service by providing assessment, information, support and signposting to people visiting and telephoning the centre. Oversight of interventions and therapies delivered, ensuring the person with cancer/carer/family experience of support feels seamless and is transparent.
To work proactively with primary and secondary care and voluntary sector partners to promote Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and build awareness of the support available for people living with and beyond cancer. This will include further developing relationships with local cancer care providers including the North London Hospice and North Central London Cancer Alliance.
Contribute to the coordination of the day-to-day running of therapy and complementary therapies delivered at CLCC, including mentoring of junior staff and volunteers as necessary. Working in close partnership with the Volunteer Co-ordinator and Befriending Service Lead.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Information/Service Provision
To ensure people with cancer their carers and families/friends gain access to the information they require by providing the following services:
1. To provide one to one sessions where assessment and planning ensures people are able to discuss all information aspects of their illness (symptom management, treatment, and living with cancer).
2. Provide support, access to therapies and signposting to other local services and support services.
3. Provide appropriate psychological support throughout the cancer diagnosis, treatment and follow up pathway, as appropriate and identified by the person with cancer.
4. Facilitate and support nurse/therapy led groups
5. Act as the person with cancer’s advocate, particularly where informed discussion may affect care management options, by ensuring robust links with secondary care Clinical Specialist Nurses.
6. Deliver support, information, and education to promote self-care following a diagnosis, and reduce risks of future complications. Actively encourage a Health & Wellbeing, enabling approach.
7. Work closely with the Cancer Information Specialist Nurse (Outreach).
8. To maintain a comprehensive, accurate and up to date information resource, including a database of information about local and national services.
9. Maintain professional links and liaise with other units/centres to ensure continuity of care and support for patients throughout their care pathway.
10. To use communication skills and empathy to impart information at all levels. To work with the Operations Manager to audit the service on a regular basis ensuring that feedback from users of the service is used to develop services further.
11. Support and participate in service review and ongoing development of nurse/therapy led services.
12. Ensure clear and concise records are documented ensuring effective communication observing NMC guidance for records and records keeping.
13. To provide information by telephone and respond to written requests for information.
Managerial and Leadership responsibilities
1. Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of care and providing leadership to all staff in the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care team.
2. Responsibly manage resources utilised within the role.
3. To publicise the facilities and activities of CLCC within the local provider trusts and in the wider community.
4. To ensure all activity delivered at CLCC is recorded on the database and provide regular updates to the Operations Manager and Trustees, helping to identify where there is unmet need in order that new services can be developed/commissioned.
5. To develop policies and procedures to assure the quality of information giving and support, including monitoring and evaluation systems that meet the highest standards, and is in line with activity across the North Central London Cancer Alliance.
6. To contribute to the Charity’s annual and strategic plans by working with the Operational Manager and Trustees to provide data & narrative that will assist in planning future service developments.
Training and Education
1. Support a positive learning environment for all staff – including volunteers.
2. To contribute to CLCC’s education programme by organising talks, seminars and workshops relating to cancer information and support.
3. To lead on the delivery of CLCC’s Induction Day for all staff and volunteers, evaluating its effectiveness by seeking and incorporating participant feedback.

5. Develop and maintain awareness of current local and national guidelines and workstreams which affect cancer information services, sharing a regular update with CLCC staff and Trustees.

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. Duties and responsibilities

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help SARSAS realise it’s vision of a world without sexual violence, through our ambitious strategy to extend our preventive programmes and maintain our essential high-quality services. Key responsibilities
Fundraising delivery and development
- Develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess of £500k per annum, establishing a fundraising pipeline and a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.

Relationship management and stewardship

- Identify and broker relationships with key funders capable of funding against our fundraising priorities, providing high-quality relationship management, using appropriate communication tools and channels to maintain relationships with key individuals and organisations.
- Design and implement generic and bespoke stewardship plans for our current network of donors, working closely with the Communications Team on the development of mailings, reports, and events as necessary.

About the role
We’re recruiting for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to steer us in the next stage of our journey. This is an exciting development of an existing role at Overcoming MS and will allow the successful candidate to make the position their own.
The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivering an innovative new digital marketing approach, through the innovation, creation and delivery of projects and activities which increase leads, donations and engagement for Overcoming MS charity.
Key Responsibilities
The Digital Marketing Manager will work across several areas, including:
1. Conversion optimisation
· Increasing our donations and data capture - to enable us to continue the dialogue and create donations from a greater percentage of those who visit our website, or interact with other digital channels.
· Working with our agency partner to optimise key landing pages and signposting for conversion.
2. User journey optimisation
· Helping people find the right content based on data optimisations so that more people find what they need and understand what else the charity could offer them. Using HotJar for insights.
· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.
3. Increasing reach and traffic generation
· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.
· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).
4. Testing to improve results continually
· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.
· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.
5. Digital project management
· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.
6. Campaign support
· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.
7. Gathering community feedback
· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.
8. Supplier collaboration
· Working with our suppliers to optimise collaboration, reduce cost and increase impact.
About you
Strong digital skills
• A proven track record of managing digital products/projects/programmes which create value for end-users.
• Strong working knowledge and experience in digital solutions.
• Experience in evaluating and improving existing digital programs.
• Significant experience working with 3rd party digital providers to create solutions that work for the target audience.
• Confident in Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Excellent understanding of AB testing to maximise conversion rates.
• Experience in using tools like HotJar (preferred).
• Strong analysis skills.
Project management skills
• Excellent organisational, planning, prioritisation and time management skills with an ability to work to deadlines and change priorities when needed.
• Expertise in using and implementing relevant project management methodologies and tools.
• Ability to proactively mitigate risks and overcome barriers to implementing solutions.
High work quality and passion for innovation
• Excellent eye for detail, works to deliver high-quality work.
• A passion for innovation, an open mind, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, energetic and passionate.
• Demonstrable track record of building lasting professional relationships.
Charity interest
• An understanding of the charity sector or an interest in charities would be a bonus.
• Knowledge of digital fundraising, digital income generation opportunities and digital conversion.
Working location
You are comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, and happy to travel occasionally to London or other central locations for meetings.
