About the role
You’ll be joining the partnerships team, which is a key role within the fundraising department and part of our wider Income Generation directorate. You will have a minimum of three years account management experience gained in charity corporate partnerships or a relevant account management role, as well as a proven track record of cultivating, securing and successfully managing corporate relationships. You are a natural strong communicator, with the ability to build effective and long-term relationships both internally and externally. You'll have proven experience of inspiring and motivating supporters and developing partners enabling them to maximise all income generating activities in the area and deliver impressive results. This new role will focus on driving business development and fundraising opportunities, and ensuring robust contract administration across METRO's HIV services. Many of these services are delivered in partnership with agencies such as the GMIPartnership consisting of Spectra, Positive East, and our collaborations with THT, Positively UK and Africa Advocacy Foundation. Our services are also embedded in other sexual health partnerships, such as the SASH programme, which consists of our partnerships with Turning Point, London Friend and Naz. We also work with several NHS Trusts as part of our work with the London HIV Fast Track Cities programme and wider programmes.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, skilled and passionate Project Development Manager to join our England Project Management team, working primarily in the South of England.
The England Project Management Team manage all sorts of projects, from species recovery at a landscape scale to infrastructure repairs and commercial developments. Each day as a Project Development Manager is different. You might find yourself chairing a project team meeting one day, visiting a construction site the next, and negotiating with contractors the day after that.
As a Project Development Manager, you will directly manage some of the most ambitious and complex projects within the RSPB. At the same time, you will work closely with the Operations Director and Area Managers in the Southern region to develop a pipeline of projects across the South, and make sure they’re being well-managed.
Our project teams include colleagues from a range of disciplines as well as external consultants and suppliers. You’ll need to be able to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders and motivate others to get things done to keep projects progressing smoothly.
Key activities will include:
- Develop and manage one or more complex projects at any one time. To include budget management, stakeholder management, risk management, contractor procurement and other tasks as required.
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project success by focusing on a common goal.
- Develop and oversee a pipeline of projects that contribute to delivery against strategic priorities, working with regional/country management teams.
- Provide support & advice to the regional /country management team to enable them to use the PMF effectively to deliver strategic priorities and successful projects (including ensuring project assurance is in place).

- Managing all aspects of the customer sales journey, this role will lead and deliver an effective, timely and professional customer journey and experience, maximising income potential and repeat business to ensure performance against team sales targets and to enable the society to continue to improve its offering for autistic people.
- This role will work closely with colleagues across Autism Know How, Marketing, CRM and Business Development departments, and other relevant NAS teams where required.
- This role will also deliver general administration and data processing as required.
- This is a full-time position for 35 hours per week. The salary for this position is £25,617.80 per annum.

Job Purpose
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their knowledge and skills in business development. Working alongside our Business Development Manager, you’ll get involved in new business generation, account management, increasing sponsorship opportunities and converting leads to sales. You’ll also be involved in providing an outstanding level of customer service to our partners and sponsors and develop your own portfolio of accounts and sales prospects.

Main Responsibilties
Business development support
- Support with the delivery of a business development strategy for BSR that secures financially sustainable funding streams that support our drive to improve patient care
- Carry out routine market research, pricing modelling and competitor analysis
- Generate ideas for product development that improve our product portfolios to keep partners engaged in supporting our membership.
Relationship building and customer service
- Provide exceptional and consistent relationship management with sponsors, partners and collaborators
- With the Business Development Manager, enable internal sharing of insight and intelligence about trends and movements with industry partners
- Keep all trackers and sales pipelines up to date.
Systems and compliance
- Support our partners to maximise their impact
- Be the key admin for business development systems and trackers, including being the team’s subject matter expert for the CRM
- Be a secondary admin for related team systems, such as booking systems and conference apps
- With the Business Development Manager, ensure our materials and products are compliant with the ABPI pharmaceutical industry code
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure all billing and invoicing is issued and processed in a timely manner
- Ensure our partners are aligning with our sustainability value and event requirements.
Person Specification
- Experience of sales and/or business development either directly or in a support function
- Experience of digital systems and tools
