The ME Association is dedicated to supporting people affected by ME/ CFS (Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). We fund biomedical research, campaign for change and provide a wide range of support services to help those with ME/CFS.
As Fundraising Officer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding to help people with ME/ CFS. You can make a positive difference to thousands of peoples lives.
We are looking for someone who
- has experience of fundraising ideally in community or challenge event fundraising
- has excellent written and verbal skills – with experience of building strong relationships
- Is an open and friendly person who takes pride in being a positive change in the world
- has excellent project management and time management skills
- has experience of delivering against targets
- has a sound understanding of the principles of fundraising including ethical fundraising and GDPR compliance
- has used Raisers Edge or equivalent fundraising database
- has a high level of competence using Microsoft Office software and is able to quickly adapt to new technologies
You will be responsible for:
- Providing a high standard of stewardship for supporters, nurturing existing supporters, thanking donors, and supporting charity events, such as our supporter reception.
- Developing our charity fundraising appeals
- Developing and promoting the challenge events portfolio.
- Keeping the fundraising pages updated, helping to design and produce fundraising materials (flyers and fundraising packs).
- You will be working closely with the Fundraising and Development Manager and will be required to support the wider Communications team where needed with additional fundraising activities.
This position is home-based with occasional travel for fundraising events.
Initially a 12 month contract, but with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
A driving license isn’t essential. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events.
The successful candidate will be IT literate, an excellent communicator, highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
A background in fundraising is required, although this could be from voluntary work. An understanding of ME/CFS is desirable.

Stewardship
- Monitoring the fundraising inbox, acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of supporters and enquirers.
- Developing individual giving income through enhanced communications, great stewardship and supporting on fundraising appeals.
- Nurturing our regular givers and looking for ways to grow our regular-giving donor base.
- Completing thanking processes efficiently for donations.
- Developing and managing tools and resources to support fundraising events such as sending out t-shirts, posters, flyers, donation boxes and fundraising packs when requested.
- Liaising with the communications team to create promotional materials to advertise events through the website and social media channels to increase engagement.
Administration
- Keeping accurate records of all prospect and supporter interactions on our CRM system, Raisers Edge NXT.
- Optimising fundraising and donation opportunities at key charity events, researching and recording information.
- Supporting the Fundraising and Development Manager as and when needed.
- Working with colleagues across, communications and services teams to ensure a smooth flow of information to support fundraising promotion and engagement.

About the Role
The Marketing Manager (Acquisition) will plan and deliver effective direct response campaigns across paid channels, to build consideration, prompt action and drive income through the acquisition of new individual donors.
A key part of this role will be to lead on the day-to-day management and development of direct response TV (DRTV) and online video which are pivotal channels within our acquisition programme. By identifying the right supporters to target and inspiring them to commit to a regular monthly donation, you'll be a key driver of our Individual Giving supporter base growth and income.
Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you'll build strong relationships and cut through boundaries, in a fast-moving and dynamic environment. Leveraging agile principles, you'll flex and adapt - learning rapidly and responding to change, while keeping our supporters at the heart of everything you do.
In this role, you will:
• Plan and execute direct response TV and online video marketing campaigns, across a range of channels (e.g. direct response TV, bVOD, CTV), with a focus on audience, to drive ambitious income targets.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to attract new supporters – using insight and data to understand our audience's needs and motivations to build long term relationships.
• Work closely with our media buying agency to approve, buy and optimise media. Manage and monitor budgets, analyse daily results and metrics to drive change as needed to ensure marketing performance against KPIs.
• Collaborate cross-squad and with partner media agency to align DRTV and online video with the broader multi-channel paid media plan and integration with our Brand campaign where appropriate.
• Plan and collaborate with in-house and/or external creative and production agencies on the development of new DRTV creative, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Develop and execute creative testing strategies to inspire audience engagement and action.
• Regularly analyse and report on performance across DRTV and online video channels and audiences, providing expertise to optimise results and deliver growth.
• Support and assist with training and supervision of Marketing Executives within the team. Manage, develop and motivate members to retain, and develop capacity, creative capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives.
• Partner with Analyst squad members to assess marketing effectiveness, using data-driven insights to foster a test-and-learn approach and ensure learnings are effectively shared across the team, and recommendations implemented.
• Work with Senior Marketing Managers to manage budgets, including planning, reporting, and reforecasting.
• Partner with CRO Specialist and others, to create a seamless supporter experience by ensuring consistency across all touchpoints, driving engagement, conversion and lifetime value.
• Keeping abreast of changes within the direct response TV and online video marketplace, and ensure learnings feed into quarterly planning.
• Collaborate with Save the Children International and other member countries, sharing best practices and insights on the trends of the various activities under its responsibility and helping drive the global production of new content for TV and online video.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Demonstrable experience in managing and delivering marketing campaigns across direct response TV or other online video channels.
• Experience in direct response marketing including developing marketing campaigns, data analysis and audience planning.
• Project management experience with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget.
• Experience of effectively managing external partners to drive performance and continual improvement, such as working with media agencies to plan, buy and optimise media, creative and production agencies.
• Experience of developing fundraising and/or marketing assets to drive action.
• Experience of effective management of campaign budgets, implementing most effective investment decisions in real time.
• Strong numerical and critical thinking skills, specifically the ability to analyse complex data and translate it into tangible information for strategic decision-making.
• Demonstrable expertise in managing budgets efficiently.
• An understanding of attribution and the different models that can be used.
• Strong understanding of the fundraising DRTV media landscape.

Ways of Working:

Overview
The Operations and Systems Manager is a key role in the Operations Team and will focus on ensuring that our staff, all home-working and many based internationally, can engage positively with Global Dialogue’s operational systems and processes. The scope of the role covers IT and digital tools, digital security, data management, HR, insurance and travel, as well as the organisation’s equipment, and health and safety protocols.
Job Description
- Responsible for the maintenance and development of systems and processes that support Global Dialogue’s operations across a range of functions.
- Provide operational support to programme staff across the organisation as needs arise.
- Collaborate with Operations Team colleagues to improve cross-functional ways of working and play an active role in the development of projects that enhance Global Dialogue’s ‘offer’ to hosted programmes.
IT, Digital Security and Data Management
- Oversee Global Dialogue’s IT provision, managing the relationship with and acting as the main point of contact for our external IT support, as well as fielding programme requests and managing costs.
- Maintain an overview of Global Dialogue’s user accounts across SharePoint and other digital tools, ensuring pricing, licencing and permissions are effectively managed across all platforms.
- Maintain and develop Global Dialogue’s practice and policies in relation to GDPR, ensuring that they are applied across the organisation, and take ownership of the organisation’s SharePoint structure.
- Support the development of Global Dialogue’s digital security offer to hosted programmes, so that the organisation has the tools and infrastructure to respond effectively to associated risks/threats.

About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Outreach Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of outreach strategies aimed at increasing the participation of UK-based companies in the UN Global Compact. In your first 6 months:

Key Responsibilities - after onboarding, we will expect you to:
- Develop and lead the 2025 growth and marketing plan, including creating marketing emails and social media content to engage prospective members. This would also include driving engagement and partnership with third parties, business associations and chambers of commerce to secure speaking opportunities.
- Lead on a follow-up strategy to increase awareness of the UN Global Compact among prospects, aiming to secure and conduct introductory calls.
- Work with the Outreach Manager to ensure growth plans are executed efficiently. This role will initially include line managing the Outreach Manager for up to a year as part of a maternity cover. However, this is subject to change.

We are looking for a Centre Manager to take over from our current postholder who has been with the charity for over 27 years as both volunteer and staff member and will play an active part of inducting and handing over and to the successful candidate.

They also need to ensure that First Step operates in a professional, organised, and effective manner.
