Join the innovative Bolton Listening Lounge, providing adults in Bolton with mental health and wellbeing support. Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust and BAND/FAmily Action, the Bolton Listening Lounge is a collaborative approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support from late afternoon into the evening. It provides a safe space for people who are experiencing mental distress or who feel that they are going through a personal crisis. Our staff will offer low level calming interventions and one to one support to identify the cause of the emotional distress and to put in place a plan including signposting and referring on to other organisations and services.

We are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of Mental Health conditions and their impact on daily living and a strong track-record of working with individuals and their families to deliver positive outcomes.  You will work within the team to prototype new ways of supporting individuals, and contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing learning and by listening and responding to feedback from people who use the service.

Key responsibilities of the role:

The Opportunity:

This is where this new role comes in: The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in supporting the stewardship of the current donors while also securing the vital resources needed to realise our bold ambition and help us transform the lives of millions of young refugees and conflict affected youth across the globe.

You will be part of leading a growing and changing organisation, and will work closely with Amala’s two Co-founders and the Fundraising Manager to develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy, cultivate and deepen key donor relationships and boost our income growth from our current £800k towards our £3 million target by 2027, driving the financial sustainability necessary for Amala’s continued growth and impact.

Who we are looking for:

Essential experience:

• Proven experience in a senior fundraising management role within the non-profit sector, ideally within international development.

• A proven track record of success in fundraising, particularly in developing and executing complex fundraising strategies for a growing non-profit organisation.

• Experience developing and implementing multi-year income generation plans.

• A strong history of securing six-figure, multi-year grants and contracts in the UK and internationally, with an annual income generation of £1m+.

• Senior-level experience managing relationships with multiple, diverse funders and donors.

• Experience writing successful partnership bids, grant proposals, cases for support, and theories of change.

• Experience in leading change in a growing organisation.

• At least three years of experience leading and managing a team, with a track record of developing and supporting staff.

What we offer:

This full time, fully remote position offers a salary of £50,000-55,000 if you are a UK resident. If you reside in a different location, the salary will be adjusted accordingly. Overview

High energy costs are a nightmare for millions of UK households, while huge profits are made at our expense. Poor housing and heating systems are a key part of the problem, along with dependence on polluting, climate-changing fossil fuels. FPA is a campaigning organisation that sets out to attack the root causes of fuel poverty along with the specific injustices facing people and communities. We want to see the UK’s energy system decarbonised as rapidly as possible, with a just transition for communities and workers.that includes affordability. 

Working closely with pensioners groups, trades unions, disabled campaigners, tenants’ organisations and others on the frontline of fuel poverty, we’re using protest and direct action to fight for real, sustainable solutions to the cold homes crisis. We are looking for a committed senior organiser, who shares our passion and values, to bring energy and imagination to developing our base and supporting our members to build their power.

About the role

Fuel Poverty Action (FPA) was started in 2011 by climate activists who wanted to ensure that the green energy transition doesn’t happen at the expense of those with less social and economic power. Rather, they saw the break with fossil fuels as an opportunity to end the scourge of fuel poverty in the UK - a chance to rethink priorities and design inequality out of the energy system.

Immediately, they were drawn into community-based struggles for energy justice, against false, profit-driven solutions and maladministration of ‘green’ measures with no accountability to tenants and residents.

Over the years others joined the fight, growing FPA to a small membership-led organisation comprising people at the sharp end of fuel poverty - people of all ages and backgrounds, mainly located in London. Since 2022, funding has enabled us to employ a small, dispersed team who are accountable to directors and a membership that is now UK-wide. 

We are now looking for an experienced, senior organiser to help FPA grow and evolve our membership network further. We want to reach more people and support members to be active within FPA so that we can build our political impact and remain meaningfully member-led. 

We are seeking a flexible person with significant leadership experience who will be confident working as part of a small team, capable of outward facing work and internal management. You will have experience of organising in collective campaigns,  including digitally, and a background in grassroots or community-based action, with a strong commitment to inclusive and anti-oppressive practice.

As the Organising Lead, you will join our Campaigns Lead and Operations Lead as the third pillar of our self-managing Coordination Team. While line-managing other colleagues and enabling the contributions of members who are unpaid, you will yourself be a member of FPA, and answerable to the group. 

We use the digital platform Action Network to run campaigns and communicate with FPA supporters. Our ideal candidate would have the skills to incorporate ladders, tags and custom fields into our digital campaigns to maximise online to offline impact and convert list growth into membership. They would also actively maintain relationships with existing members who are not always confident with online communication tools. 

There is a lot of scope to bring new ideas and perspectives to shape our work.

Strategy development: Leading on creation of a new membership growth and retention strategy in collaboration with existing members

Growing our base: Boosting in-person recruitment and using Action Network to build a digital pipeline into membership

Communications: Ensuring members are connected and informed through one-to-one calls, emails, members’ section of the website, WhatsApp groups and other platforms. 

Member development: Building one-to-one relationships with members, understanding their interests, linking them to opportunities and providing feedback and follow-up

Member activation: Supporting members to participate in our own and allies’ events, actions and mobilisations, digitally and on the ground

Speaker invitations: Representing FPA at events and in media as well as supporting members to do so

Capacity building and training: Providing tools, advice and training to members and supporters, including to FPA’s local groups in Glasgow, Manchester and London

Line management: Providing light touch management for one or more colleagues

About You

Essential requirements. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

Compensation Policy 

We’ll compensate team members on the following basis:

• All salaried team members are contracted on the same terms and conditions

• We have a 30 hour week maximum for all team members - most commonly worked as 4 x 7.5 hour days

• Team members are paid an equitable and sustainable compensation rate which is the pro rate equivalent to a full-time (5 day) salary of £40-45,000, regardless of role or level of experience

We are recruiting a Commercial Business Development Lead to drive growth of Sands’ partnerships programme. This is a new and exciting role requiring an ambitious and entrepreneurial individual, who will focus on securing commercial and strategic partnerships which maximise Sands’ exclusive, new and emerging opportunities.  This includes our award-winning Sands United Football Club, the globally-recognised Baby Loss Awareness Week, our leadership in Saving Babies’ Lives research and flagship UK-wide events such as Ribbon Run, Starlight Walk and others. 

The postholder will be responsible for securing sector-leading, inspiring and memorable partnerships, including but not limited to multi-year collaborations, sponsorship and cause-related marketing. Demonstrable experience in working across sporting and/or event sponsorship is essential as well as in commercially-led partnerships including retail.  The ability to collaborate strategically with those committed to social change is also required.

You will ensure there is an integrated approach across Sands’ functions including other areas of fundraising, engagement, communications and events. This role therefore has a high level of responsibility for the management of internal and external senior relationships.

With a high level of business acumen to identify a robust pipeline, the postholder will seek out partners that align with Sands’ vision, that will place us on the map as the go-to baby charity, thus increasing Sands’ public profile via household brands and high-profile partnership activities.

The post-holder will be able to diversify prospects across different sectors and industries including mental health and wellbeing, health and beauty, groceries, high street retailers, home and leisure, transport, jewellery and commemoration. 

You will be skilled at creating bespoke and engaging proposals that captures the interest, trust and needs of key decision-makers.  An excellent communicator and influencer, you will also be a confident presenter and networker, with the ability to represent Sands externally and produce high-quality prospect research, reports and creative pitch material. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in cultivating high-level relationships with corporate partners and individuals across a range of engagement mechanisms – particularly working from home and online.

At Toc H Newport, we offer co-produced activities, outreach services and practical support to some of the most disadvantaged individuals and families in the area, reaching over 600 individuals in 2024.Our vision is of a neighbourhood where everyone has the strong community life, emotional wellbeing and socioeconomic opportunities needed to flourish.

Our centre for service delivery is the Toc H Community Centre in Eveswell, Newport, where our offer includes our popular Stay and Play sessions for low-income families, and children’s after-school club Active Juniors. Our activities and services are incredibly popular, and we hold longstanding partnerships with local agencies and stakeholders. 

It is an exciting period of growth for Toc H Newport, with a number of new funding streams making it possible for us to reach many more families in need across Newport in 2025 and beyond. This includes a £300,000 grant from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s Community Ownership Fund, allowing us to soon complete a full structural and interior renovation of our facilities.  Following a Community Asset Transfer, our space will soon triple in size, meaning we can offer more activities and services to more local people. About the Opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring and strategic leader to join our People Directorate Leadership team as the Head of Involvement at Alzheimer’s Society. Militaries are major contributors to the climate crisis but it remains unclear how large their greenhouse gas emissions are because reporting under domestic and international frameworks is often voluntary or incomplete.

Since 2021, CEOBS and our international network of academic and civil society partners have played an important role in drawing attention to this data gap. Our Military Emissions Gap project works to communicate the scale of the reporting gap, to mainstream the topic in climate and military spaces, and to help create the conditions whereby the emissions from military activities and armed conflicts are properly documented and understood. We work with a wide range of stakeholders, from militaries, academia and the media, to policy makers and peace groups.

Research is vital to the project, underpinning all of our advocacy and awareness-raising activities and, thanks to recent grant funding we are now in a position to create a dedicated post for the project.

The role

You will work with our Climate Advocacy Coordinator, Director and academic partners to produce and contribute to unique research on military and conflict emissions, military-related climate impacts, and comparative studies on civil mitigation and decarbonisation strategies. The position is an excellent opportunity for an inquisitive, creative and conscientious environmental professional, with sound climate literacy and experience in carbon accounting, environmental reporting standards, and ESG policies and performance.

Core responsibilities

• Monitoring the rapidly evolving landscape of military climate mitigation strategies and reporting.

• Keeping up-to-date with emerging good practice on carbon and environmental reporting standards.

• Identifying research opportunities and generating and implementing research projects, both independently and in collaboration with partners. 

• Contributing to the development of advocacy campaigns.

• Engaging with our diverse range of collaborative partners, including militaries, government representatives, NGOs and academics.

• Seeking new networking opportunities and relationships.

• Representing CEOBS at domestic and international events.

• Providing support to the Climate Advocacy Coordinator.

• Following relevant environmental trends and dynamics and their intersection with the military sector and climate change.

Essential requirements

• A good degree in the field of environmental sciences and a minimum of 5 years experience working as an environmental professional.

• Demonstrated experience in carbon accounting. 

• Be able to demonstrate technical ability and the capacity to remain updated with emerging issues and standards. 

• Proven research skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to different audiences.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and comfortable engaging and networking with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Able to undertake domestic and international travel.

• Be eligible to work in the UK.

Desirable requirements

• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field. 

• Knowledge of the defence sector. 

• Experience in working with the media to help tell environmental stories.

• Full membership of an environmental professional body.

The Role

This is an exciting new role in a newly created team, formed to acquire strategic corporate partnerships and community connections. As Partnerships Officer for the North of England your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing a robust pipeline of future support focussing on high value relationships.
• Delivering engagement strategies and products to enhance the conversion rate of your pipeline.
• Developing and delivering a relationship stewardship plan for all corporate partners.
• Delivering an individual income target.
• Tracking and monitoring income and pipeline values to support with forecasting and budgeting.

The Person

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person with excellent communication and relationship building skills. You should be excited by the prospect of building a new pipeline and portfolio of corporate partners and be confident stewarding relationships in this space.

You must be able to work flexibly to maximise opportunities across the North of England, and have the initiative and ability to work with autonomy. Previous experience in fundraising is desirable; however, we are also keen to speak with people who also have the knowledge and experience in building relationships and are keen to transfer this skillset into the rewarding world of fundraising!
