The role

FareShare is committed to expanding our work so more surplus food can reach thousands of charities and community groups nationwide. Central to this aim is a vibrant national fundraising department that has consistently grown the organisation’s new and existing income streams in recent years.

FareShare’s Trusts and Grants Team has a strong track record of working across a range of impactful partnerships to raise ~£5m of income each year. A team of 6, we pride ourselves on being knowledgeable and passionate about FareShare’s work, building compelling cases for support that can amplify our impact for years to come.

As a Trusts and Grants and Manager you will take on the management and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of high-value funding relationships, while developing new partnerships with a high propensity to support our work. You will play a proactive role in strategic planning and have line management responsibilities of a Trusts and Foundations Officer.

You will be a strategic thinker, used to working with high value grant making professionals and trustees and with senior staff and stakeholders within your own organisation. You will have a strong track record in income generation and supporter stewardship and have excellent communication skills. Cross team collaboration is crucial to the role, and you will be able to demonstrate strong relationship building and influencing skills.

Main areas of responsibility

• Build relationships with portfolio of five and six figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.
• Foster a deep understanding of FareShare’s work and strategy to create persuasive fundraising proposals that inspire and solicit funds. This includes developing relationships across the organisation to build a sound understanding of FareShare operations and where support is most needed
•   Champion and input in to the teams prospecting process, using your own research and sector knowledge to take new opportunities from identification through to solicitation, particularly focussing on those with multi-year and high value potential.
•  Develop innovative and personalised stewardship plans, in collaboration with senior colleagues when appropriate, to deepen funder relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of trust support and celebrate key milestones. Lead calls, meetings and visits to strengthen funder partnerships and engagement with our work.
•  Provide supportive management to a Trust and Grants Officer, offering regular advice and guidance, identifying opportunities for development and monitoring performance objectives in line with the organisational and team strategy.
• Play an active role in developing and delivering the Trusts and Grants team strategy contributing to planning and management of team objectives, and supporting the Senior Manager to motivate the team and drive trust income.  
• Work with colleagues across the Fundraising sub-teams to maximise cross over opportunities between income areas.
•  Maintain accurate records of partner interactions in our CRM system and shared files, and consistently update financial records and account plans.

Person Specification

Experience

• Experience of securing and successfully managing five and six figure grants and multi-year gifts from a range of grant makers, including project funding and unrestricted funding.
• Experience in prospecting for new high value business opportunities via multiple research channels and soliciting new donors to make significant gifts.
• Experience in writing compelling funding applications and impact reporting.
• Experience in developing and presenting complex project and financial information to support compelling funding proposals.
• Experience of successful cross department working with senior colleagues to deliver on funding objectives and budget.
• Experience of line management or transferable skills to line management.

Skills, knowledge and abilities

• Strong up-to-date knowledge of the trust, grant and foundation landscape.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in writing proposals and presenting to or meeting with funders.

About the role

The DAPO Project Manager will work closely with the DAPO Programme Manager and SafeLives Finance Manager to support the successful delivery of the programme and maintain effective commissioning relationships with service providers across each pilot area. Key responsibilities will include overseeing commissioning contracts, supporting programme implementation, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing regular progress reports to commissioners.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week with flexible working hours and provision of an out-of-hours response as needed.

Location: Remote working. You will be required to travel when the role requires it.

Contract: Fixed term contract to 31st March 2026.

Specialist Child to Parent Violence delivery:

• Advocate for the rights of children to be respected, heard and protected.

3. Donor Relationships and Stewardship

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key donors, including major benefactors, grant funders, and parish-level supporters.

5. Compliance, Policy Development, and Governance

• Stay up to date with fundraising laws and best practices, ensuring all activities meet Charity Commission, GDPR, and financial regulations.
• Ensure that data protection regulations are upheld in all fundraising activities, particularly regarding donor records and CRM management.

• Work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure that fundraising messages align with Diocesan values and the Mission Plan.

7. Meeting Attendance and Reporting

What do I need?

You will have previous experience managing teams (managers) in supported living, ideally supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism.

You will have a clear understanding of the expectations set by our regulators, the CQC.

You will need previous experience in managing and maintaining a budget.

A proven history in driving and maintaining KPIs, compliance, and quality.

A confident use of tools like Word, Excel, and other everyday IT systems.

You will need to work flexibly, as required and be prepared to frequently travel across the area

Property Manager - Job Description

Main Duties

Repairs and Maintenance

• Manage the repair and maintenance of the parish site to ensure they are safe, clean, and welcoming.
• Undertake regular property and site inspections and manage actions.
• Responsible management of religious and listed buildings.
• Contractor management – Coordinate works to deliver value, meet quality and safety standards.
• Arrange periodic building inspections, liaise with estates on associated work.
• Submit reports to the Diocesan Estate Team as required.

Health & Safety

• Management of Statutory Inspection – arrange, manage and monitor.
• Use WorkNest H&S management system to manage compliance and risk issues.
• Work with H&S Competent Person and Estates Team, adhering to health and safety legislation.

Residential Lettings and Hall Hire

• Proactively manage income generating residential properties and parish halls.
• Work in partnership with managing agents so that rental properties are safe and achieve competitive rent.
• Periodically meet with managing agents to ensure that the best service is being provided.
• Maintain good relationships with tenants who use our halls and office space.
• Manage parish hall hire queries and coordinate the compliant use of facilities.

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure parish compliance with all diocesan policies.
• Maintain a parish asset register, inventory and annually review insurance cover. .
• Assist the Parish Priest in preparing reports and documentation for diocesan audits and reviews.
• Implement and oversee GDPR policies related to parish data collection and usage.

Volunteer Coordination

• Support and guide parish volunteers involved in facilities, or health and safety activities.
• Organise and oversee rotas for volunteers assisting with maintenance tasks.

Professionalism and Values

• Uphold and promote the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
• Work collaboratively with the Parish Team to ensure the Parish Priest is effectively supported.

Competence, Expertise and Knowledge:

From your UK home-base you’ll be flying the flag for the charity outside of Wales as a Fundraiser. You’ll put on quality fundraising events and build strong relationships through our reputation and Welsh links making a difference when it comes to people with cancer.

Picture being our Fundraising Manager and putting on fundraising events such as dinners and corporate sponsored events like golf or racing days. In this Fundraising job you can expect to be doing things like:

•  Sales & Relationship Management – you’ll be looking after a portfolio of our new and established individual and corporate high net worth donors
• Business Growth Development – you’ll have five figure income targets to meet so will plan your client cultivation work to report and present how your delivery is going

The details

Working 28 hours per week flexibly you’ll need a UK work base. The salary is £29,600 (or £37,000 FTE)

Days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re open to making the working week fit into your own lifestyle and the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. With a lot of autonomy in where you run events to meet your annual target there may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends. 

Around going to work events for the role the rest of the job can be done from home anywhere in the UK. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.
