Job description

Education Programme Coordinator

We are seeking Education Programme Coordinators to help disadvantaged young people build confidence, improve their academic progress and fulfil their potential.

Position: Education Programme Coordinator, two opportunities available
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 FTE, depending on the role and experience
Location: London, with the Saturday position based in Walworth
Hours: Part–time, Term-time only, with weekday and Saturday opportunities available
Closing date: Wednesday 2 September 2026

About the role

There are two flexible opportunities available:

Weekday Education Programme Coordinator: Working 14.5 to 22.5 hours per week or full-time, plus four additional paid weeks annually. You will deliver structured small-group tuition programmes in schools across London, support pupils and volunteer tutors and coordinate programme delivery.

Saturday Education Programme Coordinator: Working 8 to 12 hours per week, including sessions in Walworth on Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 11.30am, plus two additional paid weeks annually. You will support the delivery of engaging tuition sessions for boys aged 8 to 18.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating structured small-group tuition sessions
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
  • Supporting pupils to build confidence and make academic progress
  • Providing guidance and practical support to volunteer tutors
  • Building positive relationships with young people, families and school staff
  • Maintaining attendance records, programme information and assessment data
  • Gathering feedback and contributing to programme reports
  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting young people’s wellbeing

The weekday position does not involve full-class teaching, extensive lesson planning or significant marking.

About you

For the weekday opportunity, you will have Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent classroom or youth sector experience, alongside strong group management and organisational skills.

For the Saturday opportunity, you will have experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, mentoring or community settings. QTS or a youth work qualification would be welcomed but is not essential.

For either opportunity, you will be able to engage and motivate young people, build effective relationships and demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding.

About the organisation

The organisation is an education charity working to reduce the attainment gap experienced by disadvantaged pupils. Through structured tuition, volunteer support and partnerships with schools and community organisations, it helps young people improve academically while developing confidence and resilience.

These roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Other roles you may have experience of could include Programme Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Programme Manager, Youth Programme Coordinator, Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Community Education Officer or Saturday School Coordinator.

Please note this role is advertised by the recruitment agency acting for the client, NFP People.
