Hope Place is a mental health rehabilitation support living service with 24 hour support. Hope Place currently has 10 residents, ranging from 18-65 years old.

Waking Night Support Worker role. 10 hours
This role will suit a support worker to working throughout the night. You will report to the team leader and engage/support customers during anti-social hours needing support.
This is a great opportunity for a Waking Night Support Worker, wanting to gain exceptional experience within the mental health field, based on the solid working relationship with (SCMHT) We have since implemented training directly from SCMHT to support staff with understanding Mental Health diagnosis and Managing Crisis with our customers in-house.
What you'll do:
- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager.
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions.
- Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available.
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community.
- Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
- Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards.
- Encourage and enable tenants to pay their rent and to ensure that rent accounts are managed effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team.
- Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible.
- Adhere to Look Ahead's Policies and Procedures.
- Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills.
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned.

What does this mean day to day?

About the Role

Further to this, you'll consolidate insights from these projects and the relevant literature, ensuring they are disseminated within the charity and beyond.
What will I be doing?
Project managing and providing advice on research/evaluation of CRUK activities ensuring that the methods, analyses and communication of results are appropriate, high quality and have maximum impact
Interpreting and communicating research/evaluation results effectively to internal and external stakeholders
Developing a sound, rounded knowledge of topics relevant to reducing cancer incidence and improving cancer outcomes, as appropriate to their portfolio of responsibilities, through review of evidence, and close collaboration with colleagues within the team, department and the whole of CRUK
Contributing to the critique and synthesis of research, data and insight through the preparation of evidence briefs and evidence-based content, distilling key points
Preparing PowerPoint decks, one pagers, reports, and conference presentations/posters to a high standard, working with colleagues and/external researchers as appropriate to communicate insights and influence future work programmes
Maintaining good working knowledge of behavioural research evidence relevant to specific projects (e.g. barriers to bowel cancer screening participation) through interrogation of the evidence base and via internal and external networks
Helping to ensure research/evaluation budgets are appropriately managed and distributed within and between projects across Policy, Information and Communications
Maintaining and developing effective working relationships with CRUK colleagues, key stakeholders, academics/other experts and external suppliers, making the most of opportunities for collaboration on research/evaluation where appropriate.
What skills are you looking for?
Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience working as a researcher or evaluation specialist, ideally in health
Knowledge of behavioural research evidence, ideally relevant to cancer prevention, early diagnosis and cancer treatment
Extensive experience carrying out quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g. statistical significance testing, thematic analysis)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to flex communication style to suit a range of professional and lay audiences
Project management experience with the ability to prioritise effectively, balancing project level tasks with strategic focus
Ability to quickly analyse and draw robust conclusions from scientific papers and reports
Demonstrated experience in survey design and analysis
Drive and determination to deliver high quality research and evaluation
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, academics, health professionals, external suppliers and other stakeholders
Ability to select and negotiate with external suppliers to drive cost efficiencies
Proficient with statistical analysis software (e.g. STATA or SPSS).

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Communications and Events Coordinator lead the development and delivery of Khulisa’s communications strategy and key campaigns, designed to engage our supporters, stakeholders, and the wider UK public.
About Khulisa:
Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.
Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester.
About the role:
This role will be a key part of helping to raise awareness of Khulisa’s mission and the issues we address, strengthening support for our programmes. The postholders will also take ownership of planning and delivering all Khulisa events, ensuring they are impactful and well-executed.
- Develop and deliver Khulisa’s Communications and Branding Strategy in line with the strategic plan.
- Lead public engagement campaigns to raise awareness, promote youth voice, and drive participation.
- Plan and manage events, including fundraising and challenge events, from concept to delivery.
- Create and manage digital content across social media, website, newsletters, and other channels.
- Recruit and supervise volunteers to support communications and event-related activities.

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.
What we're looking for:
1. Abilities/Experiences
- Experience in digital campaigning and digital content creation.
- Experience of planning and delivering events, including fundraising events, liaising with partners, suppliers and colleagues.
- Excellent written, copywriting and editing skills and proven ability to communicate campaigning messages in a compelling, succinct and engaging way.
- Experience creating digital content for a variety of audiences, including experience of using a range of digital software and tools, and knowledge of message testing and optimisation.
- Experience in designing popular, results-oriented and successful campaigns.
- Ability to use design software (such as InDesign, Canva, Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Experience working within a close-knit team in a busy and fast paced working environment.
- Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision.
- Ability to buy strongly into strategic objectives and reflect passion for Khulisa’s work with and for young people.
- Experience of using Salesforce or similar CRM system as well as all-in-one marketing platform such as
- Mailchimp to deliver effective long-term public engagement.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
2. Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Project Management, Events Management or Communications, or equivalent years of experience.
3. Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of relevant software and digital tools to deliver effective long-term public engagement and digital fundraising campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress or similar website builder.
- Knowledge of best practice in digital fundraising.

Job Overview
As the Advocacy Officer, you are responsible for building the profile, influence and credibility of IRC’s work with UK politicians, political parties and opinion formers on our humanitarian and development issues. You will be delivering our influence strategies and identifying strategic lobbying opportunities and enabling colleagues to exploit them fully through the use of innovative and creative tactics that help IRC stand out in a crowded arena. You will support building critical strategic relationships to help deliver on IRC’s objectives in parliament. You will contribute fresh insights and analysis to inform IRC’s influence approaches, tactics, and messages.
Major Responsibilities:
- Advocacy Strategy: Support in delivering advocacy strategies, collaborating with the Advocacy Manager, policy leads, public advocacy and communications colleagues, to advance IRC’s key advocacy objectives.
- Political and policy monitoring: Analyse and report on relevant political and policy trends and regularly communicate across external relations teams.Expand IRC’s political reach by tracking and analysing shifting government positions, individuals engaging on our issues, and the politics around our issues. Track political processes and profile opportunities / events; including bills, select committee inquiries, and other parliamentary and political developments.
- Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining relationships with a core group of political champions in and around Westminster, whilst raising IRC’s profile and awareness of our positions on key issues among a wider political audience in order to increase our ability to deliver policy change.
- Political engagement: Developing and providing regular written or oral briefings to MPs, Peers, government officials, and other decision makers on key policies and campaigns. Producing specific asks to parliamentarians on a regular basis – parliamentary questions, debate contributions etc.
- Communications: Provide market and audience expertise to communications team to craft public advocacy in the UK. Support team in developing communications strategy and develop materials for advocacy targets, including digital/social content and take actions.
- Teamwork: Support a positive team culture by acting openly and collaboratively, supporting colleagues in their work and sharing credit with others where appropriate.

Job Requirements:
Work experience:
- Experience in delivering advocacy strategies in the UK. 2 years + of experience working on development and humanitarian issues.
Demonstrated skills and competencies:
- Proven success in delivering successful strategies that influence/impact on legislative and executive policy.
- Good understanding of relevant the UK’s political structures and processes, and familiar with leverage points within these institutions that can be targeted to achieve policy change objectives.

Founded in 1617, The Society of Apothecaries was set up as a members’ association specifically to support doctors, pharmacists, and other health professionals, with the purpose of furthering education, research and innovation in the medical field. Today, the Society, continues to support medical students who are struggling financially and through our Centre for Health Studies, runs a wide range of educational programmes including, post-graduate Medical Diplomas, courses and lectures open to the General Public. Our members are still predominantly medical professionals. We are based at the wonderful C17th Apothecaries Hall, a Grade 1 listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument, where we host a wide range of events including black- and white-tie dinners.
The Communications Officer reports directly to the Senior Leadership Team and sits at the centre of all the Society’s activities. You will:
1. Manage the communications and engagement functions in-house to serve all areas of the Society.
2. In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team & key stakeholders, manage the annual pattern of communications & engagement activities required and ensure key deadlines are met.

Be the guardian of the Society’s brand including visual content, tone of voice and owned channels of communication; working with external branding consultants where applicable, act as the main point of contact for checking & editing materials destined for Society and external audiences to ensure they comply with agreed branding.

5. Build and maintain relationships across all internal departments to develop, coordinate and facilitate effective communications.
6. Through excellent relationship management with all key stakeholders, be aware of current activities across all of the Society’s branches.
7. Develop & deliver content across the Society’s communications channels, e.g. website, digital newsletters, social media, media relations, printed and digital leaflets, following agreed approval processes and in collaboration with relevant teams.
8. Act as the webmaster for the Society’s website; administering updates within agreed approval processes.
9. Market the Society’s activities including events, lectures, examinations, and courses to attract attendance.
10. Lead the annual production of key Society engagement materials, including the Society Members’ Handbook, Apothecary journal and Galen Awards Ceremony brochure, managing and liaising with key contributors (including volunteers) to ensure timelines are met.
11. Evaluate the success of communications activities against the Society’s goals and objectives to inform the way forward.
12. Report and collaborate on communications activities by organising and minuting monthly comms meetings.
13. Have a strong awareness of the Society’s purpose and objectives, through familiarity with the Communications Strategy, Society’s Standing Orders & By-laws, output of Committees and operational strategic plans.

About the role of Assistant Communications Officer:
- You will be supporting both the media team and wider communications team to help us reach as wide an audience as possible.
- Supporting the media team with day-to-day tasks such as writing and issuing the daily news summary, managing rotas, assisting with compiling monthly reports, take part in the team rota to be the first point of contact for media requests coming into the organisation - via press phone and media inbox.
- Supporting the media team with campaign press - writing press releases and creating social media content, pitching stories to journalists, setting up media interviews and writing briefing documents and work with the social media team to monitor our social channels and interact with followers where required.
You will be a crucial cog in ensuring the smooth running of the press office with:
· Strong organisation and time management skills to keep the team running efficiently and manage your varied workload.
