Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our South West London Team. Reporting to Service Delivery Coach, Gavin Hughes.

Position: 000028 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, South West London – Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2027. However, regular travel will be required as part of this role (will include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £22,600 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum/pro rata or outer London weighting £2,457 per annum/pro rata may be applied in accordance with where you live)  (FTE circa £28,300 per annum plus any London weighting if applicable)

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

· Organise and facilitate effective service communication for the benefit of stroke survivors and carers in understanding and achieving their goals.

· Ensure that timely, confidential and accurate records are kept on our CRM data base and all data is in line with our retention policy and GDPR compliant.

· Develop and manage service volunteers to support service delivery for stroke survivors and carers as required.

About You

You will have experience in:

· Providing person centred support to empower vulnerable people or people with a disability or long term health condition and their carers

· Ability to nurture emotional resilience needed to handle a variety of calls, potentially dealing with complex and challenging situations whilst working in your own home

· Effective listening skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse audience including anyone experiencing communication difficulties via a combination of face to face visits or meetings, telephone calls, emails or letters, and digital methods (such as video calls)

This role requires regular travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and organised Family Support Coordinator to help deliver practical, emotional and financial support to families affected by Dravet Syndrome.

Working closely with the Head of Family Services, you'll be a key point of contact for families, supporting enquiries, coordinating grants, managing online communities, helping organise family events, and ensuring families can access the information and support they need.

The Role

Working alongside other officers, you will report to either the Individual Giving Lead responsible for our cause-related products or the Individual Giving Lead responsible for our gaming products. • Comfortable with figures and spreadsheets, as you’ll be diving into the data and managing campaign costs.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate campaign results and  reviews.
• Always looking out for new opportunities, using our sprint pipeline methodology (testing, solving, learning from experiments) before scaling.
• Ensuring our campaigns are fully compliant at all times.

About You

We’re looking for an individual who:

• Has great experience and knowledge of fundraising, direct marketing and project management, and can bring a real enthusiasm to the team. This role has a specific focus around supporter acquisition which includes face to face, paid digital, direct mail, telemarketing and eMarketing.
• Is fantastic at organising and prioritising a busy workload and knowledgeable of project management. Loves attention to detail and can work on several projects at once whilst thinking outside the box, as things can change quickly!
• Loves data and insight and enjoys applying that insight to campaign testing.

Stroke Support Worker

We are looking for an empathetic, adaptable individual, experienced in person centred support to work with stroke survivors and their loved ones on the stroke ward in Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Position: 000029 Stroke Support Worker

Location: Homebased, Doncaster, South Yorkshire. However, travel will be required twice weekly to Doncaster Royal Infirmary as part of this role (and occasional wider travel may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: 21 - 28 hours per week with a minimum of 21 hours. The exact weekly hours (up to 28) will be agreed with the successful candidate

Salary: £17,000 – £22,600 per annum depending on hours (FTE circa £28,340.58)

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract

The Role

This work is part of a project (the Integrated Offer), exploring the needs and ongoing connection for people affected by stroke in hospital and beyond.

The role will involve delivering person-centred stroke support in the hospital setting, while working with the Integrated Offer team to test and implement new approaches. The areas we aim to deliver and test are:

· Deliver person centred conversations with people affected by stroke on the acute ward.

· Following an initial conversation, test how people affected by stroke connect with the Stroke Association next, and what they connect to.

· Explore how to increase connection with those who are not present on the ward at the same time as us.

(note- we may test some or all the above)

To support flexible delivery and testing, you'll also develop your skills by providing phone support to people affected by stroke.

The role includes working in Doncaster Royal Infirmary starting with twice weekly visits, for 3 hours per session. These sessions can be any time after 11am.  The length, timing and cadence of the sessions may need to adjust as this is a test and we will be led by what works for the hospital and people affected by stroke.

Occasional overnight stays may be required. 

About You

Key skills/experience: 

· Experience of communicating directly with people affected by stroke, either on the phone or face to face. 

· Experienced in person centred support Emotional intelligence and good judgement skills

· Effective listening skills with the ability to communicate clearly at a time where emotions may be heightened.

· High levels of emotional resilience to handle complex situations whilst working in a hospital environment.

· Ability to embrace the principles of coaching and reflective practice to drive continuous improvement.
