Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham is recruiting for Advice Services Managers, who will be responsible for the supervision, quality and monitoring performance of the advice and information team. This busy and varied role will rely on your ability to mutli-task and bring out the best in paid and volunteer staff, to ensure the highest quality of advice across our many and varied projects. Working as part of a team with other Advice Services Managers, you will also be responsible for all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

It is essential that you have the required management skills and a good understanding of the main advice enquiry areas including welfare benefits, housing, debt, and employment as well as a combination of the following attributes:

• Excellent and effective communicator

Main duties and responsibilities

• As a member of service managers team, ensure client support team members are supported with the appropriate level of guidance and supervision

Supporter Engagement is one of the most important teams that is central to the success of Alzheimer’s Society. The function of the team is to manage multi-channel communications with our supporters, both inbound and outbound. The team manage emails, telephone calls and social media interactions and is part of the wider Supporter Experience Department.

Earthsight is looking for an experienced campaigner to lead our policy and comms work delivering impactful analyses and advocacy on the impacts of Western consumption on the world’s forests, native biomes and local communities.

Earthsight is a non-profit organisation dedicated to researching and investigating environmental and social crime and injustice. We use cutting-edge investigative methods to uncover and expose wrongdoing. Since emerging as a fully-fledged organisation in 2016, our reports have garnered headlines, won awards and triggered major changes by governments and corporations.

We seek to create positive change by influencing government policy, uncovering greenwash and raising awareness among key constituencies about the impacts of global supply chains on the world’s forests and forest communities.

Most global deforestation is driven by industrial production of a handful of major commodities, including beef, soy, palm oil and wood. A large chunk of this production is to meet demand in Western consumer markets. Over the past few years, Earthsight has played a key role in highlighting the complicity of corporations and consumers in the EU, UK and US in the destruction of forests overseas, as well as the abuses of local people which accompany that destruction. As part of a global coalition, we have succeeded in getting laws passed or under development in all those jurisdictions which aim to clean up these supply chains. Now we need to ensure those laws are effectively enforced.

This role will be key to that. As part of a small team, you will help design and coordinate implementation of our policy strategy and outputs. You will represent the organisation in meetings with policymakers, government authorities and civil society, as well as help draft and disseminate policy briefings and other advocacy material. You will also oversee our comms work.

The position is offered as a full-time permanent contract. The successful candidate would preferably be based in the UK and able to come into our office in London regularly. Main tasks and responsibilities

• Input into policy strategy and planning for the three geographic teams (Latin America, Southeast Asia/Africa, Northern Forests)

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with an understanding of dementia, and the needs of those affected with these conditions. Our Dementia Adviser’s support people in their homes we interact face to face, over the telephone and virtually, to give people the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future. As a community-based worker, you will be required to attend a range of meetings, appointments and venues as well as working from home.  

You will;

We are looking to recruit a HOPELINE247 Manager to enable the delivery of an outstanding suicide prevention helpline, through the effective management of HOPELINE247 advisers, alongside the promotion and development of the service.

What you will do:

Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.

Ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered through effective quality assurance processes.

Manage staffing and resources effectively to ensure the efficient running of the helpline service.

Risk assess and provide advice and guidance to the team, in relation to safeguarding matters, in line with policy and procedures.

Provide ad hoc rota cover to support a range of clients via multi-channel communications, adhering to HOPELINE247 remit at all times.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A proven track record of building and managing an effective team, supporting their development and managing their performance.

Previous experience of building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings.

Previous successful experience of working in suicide prevention or mental health.

Awareness of the issues around safeguarding and how these can affect young people and adults at risk.

Degree level or a professional qualification in Health, Nursing, Social Work, Community Work or a related discipline.

Salary: £34,224 per annum (Scale point 29), progressing by increments to £36,869.25 per annum (Scale point 32). As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £10 per night shift. This will be paid on a monthly basis along with the salary.

Hours: 33 hours per week

Working arrangements: This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 07:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week. 33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

PSPA supports families affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), both are complex neurological conditions that affect mobility, vision, swallowing and cognition.

We are looking for someone to join our helpline team to provide professional, comprehensive support and make a real difference to people living with PSP, CBD, their families, and carers. 

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.
