Research and campaigns officer jobs
This is an opportunity to help shape one of the UK's most ambitious youth development charities as we move from a founder-led organisation to a nationally recognised institution. The successful candidate will help build the systems, culture and capability that will enable 20/20 Levels to scale its impact over the next decade.
This role owns the 20/20 Levels brand and turns it into growth. It leads the Branding, Marketing & Communications stream of our 2026–2028 strategy: one consistent brand narrative across our 'in real life' and online presence, youth-centred storytelling that puts young people and alumni at the centre of every touchpoint, and a structured content operation that reduces our reliance on agencies and on CEO visibility.
The 'Commercial' half of the role is focused on our income-generation mandate. Our income strategy commits us to building unrestricted income, and this role builds the engine: tiered sponsorship propositions and renewals, a consultancy pipeline, licensing and digital products, monetised research and insights, and the commercial forecasting that makes this income plannable working hand in hand with the Business Development function, which leads the employment partner sales pipeline.

Who we are:
Hope is here. The Global Returns Project (GRP) is a UK charity unlocking new philanthropy to deliver urgent solutions for our planet.
We are a fast-moving nonprofit that makes donations to high-impact nature and climate charities simple – and we don’t take any fees. We’ve already mobilised £3 million for top environmental solutions and are working to unlock at least £30 million annually by the end of the decade.
We are growing quickly: Last year's annual fundraising was nearly triple the previous year.
The problem: Charities protecting our planet can turn the tide on climate change and nature loss. They have the skills, strategies and networks to deliver fast and global impact. But less than 2% of philanthropy goes to climate mitigation.
Our solution: In the UK alone, around £2 trillion sits with “HNW+” individuals – those holding between £100k and £30 million. Yet traditional philanthropy largely overlooks them. We’re unlocking this funding by offering trusted, pro bono advice and a simple, portfolio approach to giving. Our expertise in UK wealth advice offers a unique path to scalability and systems-change.
What we are looking for:
Job title: Impact and Communications Officer
We're looking for a curious and capable Impact and Communications Officer to help us find, assess, report on and support some of the world’s highest impact climate and nature charities.
Internally, you will play a critical role in supporting the research on charities within our portfolio that our Due Diligence Committee oversees – helping develop our methodology and feeding into charity selection and assessment projects. You’ll help write impact reports and coordinate webinars for our network about our charities. You’ll also manage, update and clean leads in our CRM (Beacon), and support month-end financial processing.
Externally, you will produce much of the Global Returns Project’s communications content, telling compelling stories about cutting-edge environmental projects. You’ll assist with scheduling and sending our newsletters, keeping our website up-to-date, and editing video content. As we generate support for our portfolio via public campaigns and match-funding initiatives, you’ll help coordinate these efforts in line with the strategy set by the wider team.
You will thrive in a small, fast-moving team – taking initiative, being collaborative, and contributing to shared goals. Crucially, you'll care deeply about climate and nature.
Professional experience preferred: Some professional experience in marketing and communications (as a guide, likely 1-3 years).
Please see the full job description attached for information on skills required and main duties and responsibilities.
Location: Centrally located, light and airy office on Regent Street, London. Hybrid working: estimated 3-4 days per week in the office.
Benefits: 25 days’ annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays. Occasional 1–2 days’ additional paid leave over the Christmas period. Flexible working.
Reports to: Kiki Shahida, Impact Officer
Preferred start date: 7 September 2026
Applicants should apply via CharityJob with both a CV and cover letter addressed to the CEO, Jack Chellman. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. Please include the name, email and phone number of a reference we can contact.
Hope is here. We're unlocking new philanthropy to deliver urgent solutions for our planet.

Director of Campaigns and Communications
Amnesty International UK
Location: Hybrid role between home and London office in WC1X, where you will be able to work regularly from home. The postholder will have significant contact with stakeholders which will require you to be in London regularly. This is likely to be at least weekly and includes occasional evening and weekend events.
Salary: £100,488 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Shape the future of one of the world's most influential human rights movements.
At a time when human rights are increasingly contested, Amnesty International UK has a clear ambition: to build public support for human rights, strengthen people-powered movements and create lasting change.
To achieve that ambition, the organisation is seeking an outstanding leader to join its Senior Leadership Team as Director of Campaigns and Communications.
One of the most significant leadership opportunities in the sector today, the postholder will report directly to the Chief Executive and will lead a large directorate spanning campaigns, communications, public engagement, media, policy, research and political relations, helping to shape how one of the world's most recognised movements engages the public, mobilises supporters, influences decision makers and drives social change.
The Opportunity
Human rights organisations face a fundamental challenge.
Facts alone are not enough.
In an increasingly complex and polarised world, organisations must connect evidence with emotion, inspire people to act, build movements and create the public mandate required for lasting political and social change.
As Director of Campaigns and Communications, you will help define how Amnesty International UK meets that challenge. You will shape the organisation's public voice, influence its strategic direction and lead work that reaches millions of people across the UK.
You will join at a pivotal moment as AIUK seeks to:
- Build broader public support for human rights
- Grow and diversify its movement
- Reach and engage new generations of supporters
- Increase its influence in public and political debate
- Strengthen the integration between campaigning, communications, activism and movement building
- Create bold, creative and audience-focused approaches to change
About the Role
As a member of the SLT, you will contribute to the overall leadership of AIUK and play a central role in shaping organisational strategy and culture.
You will lead a substantial and highly talented directorate, bringing together expertise across:
- Campaigns and political relations
- Communications and public engagement
- Media, PR and artist relations
- Policy and research
- Nations and regions
You will create greater alignment across these functions, ensuring they operate as a coherent whole in pursuit of AIUK's strategic priorities.
You will also represent AIUK externally, building relationships across the Amnesty movement, civil society, media, politics and public life, and helping to position AIUK as a leading voice in shaping the future of human rights in the UK.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader with the credibility, judgement and vision to operate at executive level.
You may currently be:
- A Director of Campaigns, Communications, Public Engagement or Advocacy.
- An Executive Director leading large-scale influencing or movement building functions.
- A senior sector leader with responsibility for public mobilisation, communications, campaigning or political influence.
You will be adept at operating strategically, leading through complexity and building alignment across diverse stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Significant leadership experience within a complex organisation
- A track record of delivering ambitious campaigns, communications or public engagement strategies at scale
- Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams
- The ability to build organisational alignment around a clear strategic vision
- Strong political and external awareness
- A sophisticated understanding of how public narratives shape social and political change
- An inclusive and collaborative leadership style
- A commitment to anti-racist practice, equity and human rights
Leadership at AIUK
This role requires both conviction and humility.
You will bring fresh thinking, challenge established assumptions and help AIUK adapt to a changing environment. At the same time, you will understand how to build trust, bring people with you and create conditions for others to succeed.
We are looking for a leader who can combine strategic clarity with empathy, collaboration and courage.
Someone who is comfortable making difficult decisions, navigating ambiguity and leading through influence rather than hierarchy.
Why Join AIUK?
Few leadership roles offer this combination of influence, visibility and purpose.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Shape the future direction of one of the world's most recognised human rights organisations
- Influence public and political debate on some of the defining issues of our time
- Lead work that strengthens democratic participation and social justice
- Help build a broader, more diverse and more powerful movement for human rights
- Work alongside exceptional colleagues across the UK and the global Amnesty movement
- Leave a lasting legacy on the future of human rights advocacy in the UK
This is a rare opportunity to lead at scale, shape public narratives and help define the next chapter of Amnesty International UK.
If you believe in the power of people to create change, and have the leadership experience to help make that change happen, we would welcome a conversation.
Amnesty International UK's commitment to colleagues
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism (IDEA) are at the core of our values. We want to be an organisation that tackles structural inequality and prejudice as well as be an actively anti-racist organisation. This means taking a meaningful and equitable approach to supporting and developing you and others during your time with us.
New colleagues receive:
- 27 days leave annually (29 after five years), as well as bank holidays (pro-rated for part time) and 3 wellbeing days
- 2-5% employee pension contributions are matched at 6-9%
- 6 months full pay for family leave
- Supportive of flexible working such as compressed work patterns and job shares.
Recruitment Timeline
To ensure equitable access to information and uphold Amnesty International UK's commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the charity will be hosting a Q&A webinar in place of individual informal calls with the CEO and members of the SLT.
We encourage all interested candidates to submit questions in advance, which will be addressed during the session.
Please register your interest in attending this webinar on Tuesday 25th August 6-7pm and we will send you a link.
