The Nuffield Trust is looking for someone capable of leading projects across a range of topics within health and care; someone who will be an energetic, inspiring presence in the team. You will have strong critical appraisal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to analyse policy documents, grey literature and official reports related to specific policy areas.

In this role, you will be responsible for a mix of short- and long-term projects, including in-house research and policy analysis and reactive work. You will be expected to develop and lead research projects, including leading funding bids, and you will work with a range of stakeholders, including funders and academic partners. You will have strong quantitative skills, and you may have qualitative research experience too. Expertise in workforce research is desirable but not essential.

Deliver and grow our integral Big Conversations series, which brings the hospice sector together on the biggest issues of the day.

We’re looking for someone who takes a consistent project management approach to leading virtual networks and large online meetings/webinars. Building strong internal and external relationships will be vital.

You might be working in the charity sector already, or bring strong technical experience delivering virtual events or online membership networks from other sectors. You don’t need to have a background in healthcare.

You’ll join a close, 16-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK, made up of experienced clinicians, sector-leading project and event managers, and specialists in evidence and research. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.

The newly created Advice & Support Team plays a key role in delivering Battersea’s increased strategic focus on early intervention in the pet ownership journey. The Minster Centre is recruiting for a Registry Manager to oversee all aspects of training and course administration from first enquiry to graduation. The ideal candidate must have a high level of organisation; they need to be an adaptable and flexible person who enjoys working on a range of different tasks; they should have excellent teamworking skills and can work independently; and leading a small team, they need to be a confident manager in an education administration environment who thrives in a busy workplace.

Background

The Minster Centre is a registered charity and company and specialist integrative counselling and psychotherapy training provider based in Queens Park, London. We are a leading training provider in the sector and currently have around 400 students attending training courses ranging from open access introductory courses to post-graduate degrees.

Thousands of therapists have trained at the Minster Centre since our inception in 1978 and we have an extensive community. Our courses are accredited by the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), and some are validated by Middlesex University. We are also registered with the Office for Students.

The Minster Centre Psychotherapy & Counselling Service (MCPCS) also provides a safe, affordable and professional counselling service to people over the age of 18 who are experiencing a range of difficulties. The service is provided by senior trainees who are in the process of completing their therapy training.

Job summary

The Registry Manager supports all aspects of training and course administration from first enquiry to graduation. This includes introductory courses, professional counselling and psychotherapy qualifications, and MA programmes validated by Middlesex University.  Reporting to the responsible Management Committee Lead, the Registry Manager ensures that we deliver efficient and effective services to support admissions, enrolment, university registration, assessment, progression, HESA data returns, awards, and graduation of our students.

The Registry Manager has line management responsibility for the course administrator, leads on course scheduling, managing student data, organising the Bursaries and Hardship Fund (the Minster Centre Fund), supports key committees, monitors academic progress, and ensures accurate information is presented at Assessment Boards. They will balance day-to-day student matters with supporting the team and working to improve administrative systems.

This is a varied role which is critical for the delivery of The Minster Centre’s strategic objectives and charitable aims. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and will have significant relevant experience of administration, ideally within the Higher Education or professional training sectors. Main areas of responsibility

The Registry Manager will be responsible for:

Training and course administration

• Organise course scheduling, communicating with various staff during the process, ensuring rooms can be booked and staff contracts are created.
• Oversee and support the Live Assessment scheduling and marking procedures.
• Oversee and support the process for creating student teaching groups.
• Set and disseminate key dates in the academic calendar including term dates annually.
• Be able to identify, contribute to, and action improvements to systems, processes and policies.
• Provide administrative support, including minute taking and any additional administration as required.
• Maintain a Registry Admin Handbook, with regular review and improvement of systems recorded.

Student support and progression

• Ensure that students are enrolled on courses and set up on systems accurately.
• Manage the re-enrolment process between academic years.
• Oversee the recording of student progression.
• Liaise with and support the Operations Team in organising the annual Graduation event and ensuring all eligible students receive timely information.

Reporting

• Co-ordinate and support the accurate information recording and preparation for Assessment Boards and liaise with the External Examiner.
• Oversee and support the various HESA data returns as the liaison Senior Contact and ensure all data is accurate and meets various submission deadlines.
• Provide accurate statistical information to the Management Committee for inclusion in annual reports.

Staff management and stakeholder liaison

• Manage the Course Administrator.
• Work with Admissions, Quality, IT, Finance, Training, and Reception Teams throughout the academic year.
• Attend regular staff meetings and work with other key staff to market courses.
• Conduct annual appraisals.
• Be a key communication link across the staff and student community.
• Work with other key staff to ensure that information is provided accurately to students, staff, and the public via handbooks, Moodle, and the Minster Centre website.
• Liaise with Middlesex University at key points in the year.

What the job involves

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Impact Officer to help us understand, communicate and accelerate the impact of the research we fund.

This role sits in the Research Impact and Engagement Team. You’ll be working at the heart of how we track the progress of completed research projects, share success stories and support researchers in turning their findings into ways to improve the lives of men affected by prostate cancer. You’ll take responsibility for half of our portfolio of completed research projects. This means building strong relationships with funded researchers, understanding how their work is progressing, and supporting them to achieve meaningful impact for men affected by prostate cancer. Using your scientific knowledge and communication skills you’ll translate research outputs into clear, engaging stories to demonstrate the value of our work. Using your understanding of the steps needed to take research from bench to bedside you’ll help monitor the success of our completed research portfolio.

What we want from you

This role is a vital part of how we deliver on our mission, to stop prostate cancer harming men and their families. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about research making an impact and hold a bio-medical science degree (or a degree in a related subject), with research experience. You can understand complex scientific information presented in reports, publications or presentations and explain these complex concepts in a simple and engaging way to a range of audiences including peers within the charity, as well as men affected by the disease. You’ll be motivated to consistently perform to the highest standards, with an eagerness to trial new ideas, identify new opportunities and solve problems.

In any one day you could be helping develop an impact case study for the website, interviewing researchers for project updates, supporting delivery of a research event, or using social media to disseminate the work of our funded researchers. Your primary focus will be on the impact of our funded research, working closely with colleagues in the Research Impact and Engagement Team, as well as working closely with our research funding team, and with other teams across the charity.

Job Context

Lepra UK is seeking to expand impactful social research, and the research internship was created to assist with moving forward some key research pieces during the summer 2025. As Research Intern, you will work alongside the Head of Research and a team of research volunteers to complete a systematic evidence review on the experience of children affected by leprosy of stigma, discrimination and mental health responses. You will support the review with screening of articles, data extraction, verification, coding, synthesis and quality assessment. You will join the team two months into the project, taking on various roles to assist with the completion of this project. You will also help with conducting a literature review on the socio-cultural reasons for (non)adherence in multi-drug therapy treatment (MDT). Other tasks will be assigned as they emerge. Person specification - essential criteria

• A creative and proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative and generate new opportunities

• Proven ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, with strong oral, writing, presentation, relationship building and networking skills

• Proven track record in developing and nurturing productive and long-term relationships with potential funders

• Proven track record of meeting targets from a high-value fundraising programme (trusts and major donors) 

• Proven track record in researching and identifying new trust and major donor prospects, and developing effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans

• Experience of developing exciting pitches and high-quality funding proposals with narrative and financial reports

• Collaborative and solutions-focused, with the ability to lead internal engagement in fundraising and grant management

• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines and excellent attention to detail

• IT proficiency, with the ability to maintain accurate and timely records using our Beacon CRM system

• An understanding of due diligence in relation to donors and donations

• A passion for fighting corruption

• Eligibility to live and work in the UK 

Person specification - desirable criteria

• Ability to think strategically about fundraising and how it interacts with the overall organisation strategy

• Experience of raising funds a field that is relevant or related to fighting corruption

• Good financial literacy and understanding of project budgets and restricted / unrestricted funding

• Experience of organising major donor cultivation events

Working arrangements:

Two year contract with a view to making this a permanent role. Four days (28 hours) per week - with flexibility depending on the right candidate. 24 days of annual leave (pro rated from 30 for full-time roles) plus pro rated public holidays. Remote working from home required, with regular meetings - sometimes at short notice - in London. Flexible working available.
