We are looking for a Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.

The purpose of the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at the National Theatre, as we look to grow our income from individual members, major donors, trusts and corporate organisations.

Working with the Senior Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager, you will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets.

Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with the NT’s database, Tessitura, and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way. With excellent attention to detail, this role also undertakes due diligence research into potential funders to assess any risks to the NT of accepting funds. This role also manages the Development Operations Assistant, who leads the day-to-day administration of the Development database.

The role has scope to offer insights across the whole Development team and NT senior management, and would suit a strong collaborator with enthusiasm for the work of the NT.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Experience of managing prospect research projects and supporting prospect pipeline management in a fundraising environment.

• Experience of Tessitura or other customer relations management systems.

• Proven ability to gather and interpret information for relevance from a variety of sources.

• An appreciation for donor motivations and ability to make thoughtful connections with projects.

• Evidence of the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, both written and orally.

We exist to fund research into beating blood cancer. In the past 60 years, we’ve invested more than £500 million into blood cancer research which has led to improved treatments and saved lives. As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy. 

This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. Main duties and responsibilities

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for Pecan.

2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local churches and individuals.

3. Coordinate all Appeals including the Pecan and Foodbank Christmas fundraising campaigns and Big Give Campaigns across all income and media streams.

4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities across Pecan such as Payroll Giving, Legacies, in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to Pecan’s supporters.

2. To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

3. Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all supporters and managing complaints and issues, ensuring they are reported centrally within agreed procedures, that they are resolved or escalated as necessary and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes.

4. Develop and implement stewardship programmes including reactivation of lapsed donors.

Database Management

1. Assist with setting up our CRM database with responsibility of developing and maintaining the database, ensuring efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.

2. Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.

3. Train other staff members to be able to use the database sufficiently.

4. Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.

5. Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.

 

Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.

2. Lead all individual giving streams such as direct mail appeals, online donations, regular campaigns and appeals to maximise income generation.

3. Work with the Marketing Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

4. Develop campaigns and messaging that engages new segments and audiences.

Church Giving

1. Inspire churches to journey with us as we transform lives in Peckham.

2. Pioneer and develop a broad range of relationships with churches, organisations, and denominations across Southwark.

3. Work strategically with denominations to inspire partnership and engagement with Pecan across their networks and congregations.

4. Build a team of speakers who will host and speak at meetings with churches and Christian networks in Southwark.

5. Be willing to represent Pecan at external events, including Christian exhibitions and festivals, church talks etc…

6. Increase income from churches.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and Partnerships Manager to project manage fundraising appeals and campaigns including Pecan at 35yrs; Christmas Campaigns etc.

2. Overall responsibility for Big Give Campaigns.

3. Oversight of Enthuse campaign pages.

4. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the Partnerships Manager, to explain the work of Pecan to potential company supporters.

5. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside Partnerships Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses; individuals and churches.

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropiate.

2. Management of a part time Partnerships Manager with responsibility.

3. Work closely with Head of Services and Head of Food Services to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

· Attend Pecan team meetings as and when required, including meetings where there may be a time of prayer and reflection.

· Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.

· Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Services.

· Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of the Pecan team.

· Perform all the duties required by the post in line with Pecan’s ethos and values statement, its commitment to a policy of equal opportunity and its aim of serving the community in a caring and practical manner.

· In agreement with your line manager, pursue a personal programme of learning and development to enhance your skills and performance. 

We're looking for someone to lead and develop our research team of staff and freelance research associates and be part of our Senior Leadership Team. We work with charities, foundations and public agencies to strengthen UK communities through action research. We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector, listen and learn with charities to understand what helps or hinders them and influence changes in practice within foundations and public agencies.

You'll have an interest in our work – helping individuals and organisations in the voluntary sector to achieve change; and a strong understanding and experience of using qualitative research methodology, ideally including experience of action research, facilitation and evaluation design alongside an understanding of quantitative methods. You’ll have experience of  leading, managing and contributing to all stages of the research process (including writing in an accessible and engaging manner for different audiences); be confident in leading a portfolio of varied projects; have experience of line management and working in a senior leadership team; and be comfortable working in a small organisation with wide-ranging responsibilities.

Main responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and shaping the research project portfolio to ensure quality delivery and alignment with IVAR’s strategic priorities.
• Leading, supervising and guiding the research team, including supporting Project Managers to deliver high quality research; monthly research team meetings; and continuous professional development of research staff.
• Being a member of project delivery teams.
• Monitoring project budgets and progress against income targets.
• Ensuring IVAR meets its responsibilities in terms of research ethics and safeguarding and that our research practice is equitable and inclusive.
• Maintaining and developing a network that supports a healthy project pipeline of new work, including relationships with delivery partners who can complement and enhance IVAR’s offer.
• Leading project design and proposals for commissioned work.
• Leading the identification, assessment and response to tender opportunities.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
• Providing support and supervision to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
• Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff, volunteers and partner agencies.
• Creating a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £1 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for possible further expansion in 2024 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Our client, a leading London university, is looking to appoint a temporary Research Manger to lead on bid development and submission in an HSS school. The post holder will provide high level professional advice and support to the ongoing development and implementation of School research strategies and innovation activities for your allocated School.

This is a FTC, running until the end of January 2025 in the first instance. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days on site in east London.

Some key duties and responsibilities:

• Manage systems for data management and analysis, including analysis and modelling scenarios for REF, KEF, impact and other purposes as required, as well as develop and maintain systems independently to record and manage research data for reporting as required.

We are looking for a Finance Systems Administrator who will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our finance systems, including UNIT4 ERPx, financial reporting tools, and other related applications. The role will be responsible for system maintenance, configuration, user support, troubleshooting, and enhancement projects to ensure the effectiveness, control and reliability of our finance systems.

About you

- You will have experience in finance systems administration or related roles, with proficiency in ERP systems (experience with UNIT4 is an advantage) and financial reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) is an international, not-for-profit research and development (R&D) organization that develops and delivers new treatments for neglected diseases affecting millions of the world’s poorest people.

We’re looking for an experienced prospect researcher with strong analytical skills and an excellent knowledge of the global philanthropic space to join our Private Sector Fundraising team. You will be joining a growing major gifts programme with ambitious goals and a strong new business focus.

Someone with prospect research experience in a global health, scientific or medical non-profit setting, and the ability to move comfortably between the worlds of research and philanthropy and to identify opportunities beyond the obvious will be ideal.

Specific responsibilities focus on:

• Assist in developing a proactive and growth-focused prospect research strategy that aligns with DNDi's fundraising plans and strategic priorities.
• Contribute to developing a visibility strategy for DNDi through the identification and tracking of prizes and relevant philanthropic and global health conferences.
•  Identify, track, and report on prospective donors for various funding priorities, ensuring they meet fundraising ambitions.
• Make data-driven recommendations to support the cultivation of new prospects and the management of key donor relationships.
• Present research results through written reports and presentations for various audiences.
• Conduct ethical screening and due diligence research on prospects and donors to ensure compliance with DNDi's policies and data protection regulations.
• Manage prospect research related relationships (contractual and budgetary aspects) and monitor expenditure for resource optimization.

An interesting candidate would be someone with

• A deep understanding of the global philanthropic landscape and strong in-depth knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in at least 3-4 countries (US, UK landscape is vital and knowledge of additional markets (Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands or Sweden) highly regarded) with some focus on prospect research experience in developing markets.
• Master’s degree or equivalent with a Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in prospect research experience or a strong equivalent (eg other roles within fundraising) for international NGOs, scientific organisations or organizations with global public health relevance. Some experience with medical research or neglected tropical diseases would be highly regarded.
• Someone who is driven and able to work effectively in a remote team environment and matrix structure

Location: UK, remote or hybrid in London. (The person may be based remotely or with the possibility of being able to work in a hybrid mode in London from MSF’s office 2-3 days per week.)

Position details: This role is fixed term for 24-months (with possibilities for renewal) and with a 35-hour week

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be at the front line of human rights research and advocacy, working for a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will undertake research, investigations, monitoring, report-writing and advocacy on freedom of religion and human rights in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• To plan, organise and undertake research, monitoring and reporting on freedom of religion or belief and related human rights issues in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia , through regular fact-finding assignments, when and where security conditions allow, meetings with key stakeholders and the development of reliable in-country and external partnerships and collaboration.
• To produce materials, including briefings, reports, documenting and analysing the situation of freedom of religion or belief and human rights in the agreed countries, as well as advocacy recommendations.
• To develop and implement, with oversight from the Asia Team Leader and in close consultation with other key members of staff , an effective and innovative advocacy strategy for the agreed countries, taking into account the regional perspective.
• To undertake advocacy with a focus at local (when possible) and regional levels, including ASEAN, and, in consultation with the Asia Team Leader, work with CSW’s Public Affairs Team to inform advocacy initiatives in the UK, EU, US and with other governments, the United Nations and other forums.
• To organise, as appropriate, advocacy visits for delegations from or in relation to the agreed countries.
