Role Overview
We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our R&D and innovation team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects focused on battery regeneration, material characterization, and sustainability analytics.
The role is ideal for someone passionate about science, technology, and sustainability who wants to gain hands-on experience supporting applied research in a cleantech startup environment. Qualifications

Purpose of role:
Support the Nova Family Programme tutors in facilitating online home school sessions.
Role Description:
This role will be to act as a teaching assistant to tutors delivering online English, maths and science classes (for young people at Key Stage 2 and 3). With the disruption of Covid-19, many families have been thrown into the unknown world of home schooling – made even more challenging when your own education isn’t up to scratch or English is your second language. We are delivering a free programme of online home school support to those who have been most negatively impacted by being out of school. Now that Schools have reopened, we will be continuing these sessions to ensure that learners do not fall behind as Schools focus on catching up on lost learning. The aim is to support children who may be falling behind with their studies and mitigating as far as possible the widening attainment gap.

Role Overview

Your primary responsibility will be auditing our online video archive, including reviewing lecture web pages to ensure they contain all key assets:

Following the audit, you may also help with:
- Writing short lecture descriptions where missing

Volunteer Role: Trusts and Foundations
We were set up to transform the former Edward Hain hospital, in St Ives, Cornwall, into a community centre for health and wellbeing. The hospital was founded in 1920, with funds from the Cornish Hain Steamship Company. When it closed n 2021, our community, led by the hospital’s League of Friends, came together to save the building for the town. Now it brings together much needed health and wellbeing services, along with social, community and welfare support, all under one roof.
About the role
We are looking for volunteers to help us raise funds from Trusts and Foundations. Grants, such the one we secured from National Lottery, already help keep us open all year. Although previous experience in grant writing would be welcomed, it is absolutely not required. More important are your enthusiasm and desire to help local people. ideally, you will be able to volunteer at least one or two days a month on a regular basis and preferably have access to a computer.

Overview
Established in 2019 and supporting a community of over 30,000 families ARFID Awareness UK is the only registered UK charity dedicated to raising awareness and further information about Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. As a not-for-profit, we work to provide individuals, parents, carers and medical professionals with up-to-date relevant information, research and support.
We are equally committed to supporting medical professionals across varying specialities, by equipping them with the information they need to ensure that their patients receive an early diagnosis and have access to appropriate care.
Our charitable aims are to:
1) Raising awareness about the condition within the medical and associated professions and the general public in such ways as the trustees shall determine;
2) Providing advice and information in such ways as the trustees shall determine to enable and empower parents and carers to advocate for the children in their care;
3) Facilitating research into the condition, the useful results of which will be published for the public benefit;
4) Potentially providing grants of financial assistance to enable economically disadvantaged families to obtain necessary treatment and medication unavailable via the NHS.

Time Commitment
Trustees meet twice a year virtually. Meetings last approximately 2 hours.
The Remuneration and Finance, Risk and Investment Committee meet once a year virtually. Meetings last approximately 1 hour.
In addition, Trustees are expected to allow time for reading of papers and preparation for meetings, attending events training and induction.
