The City and Guilds of London  Art School is a small, independent Higher Education Institute. It traces its history back to the 1850s and has strong links to a number of City Livery Companies as well as certain Trusts and Foundations and individual donors. The Art School is now seeking a Development and External Relations Manager to drive forward its activities in these areas in accordance with the Art School’s strategy and targets.  A key aspect of the role is nurturing existing and developing new relationships within the Art School’s expanding base of supporters and collaborators, including through the organisation of events.  We are looking for a self-starter with substantial experience of working in a fundraising role in the cultural or similar sector, and who can work on their own initiative as a key member of the Art School’s senior management team.

Are you passionate about improving support for families affected by substance misuse?

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

Carers’ Hub plays a vital role in Lambeth, supporting the many unpaid carers across the borough. Our work stems from the fact that carers often go about their roles despite the toll it might take on their own wellbeing, often having to make sacrifices that hamper their own ability to lead a normal life. Whether financial, educational or otherwise, we seek to limit the challenges that carers face. We achieve this through four core workstreams: 

1. raising awareness of carers, 

2. influencing local policy through community engagement activities, 

3. improving carer wellbeing and

4. connecting carers to each other and to support and training opportunities through our services.

We have ambitious goals here at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and are looking for an experienced, strategic, and financially savvy Head of Finance to join us. The RCR is a charity with a focus on supporting doctors who deliver medical imaging and cancer services and we require a passionate and dynamic finance professional to helps us continue making a difference.

The Head of Finance will manage the high-performing finance team consisting of a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant and Finance Business Partner. Sitting in the Business and Resources Directorate the team are instrumental to the successful running of the RCR. In this role you will be responsible for the operational finance function which handles accounting, financial reporting, planning and transactional activities as well as supporting longer-term strategic planning.

As a finance professional you will use your expertise to further support the RCR by delivering the organisations financial objectives and build strong working relationships with managers to equip them with the tools to make good financial decisions. Furthermore, you will support the Executive Director, Business & Resources in the delivery of effective risk management activities and reporting, lead discussions on how our financial controls and processes may need to change and adapt, shape and drive business performance to ensure your leadership of the finance function results in the delivery of excellent services.

What you’ll do:

• Lead, motivate and develop the finance team to deliver essential business services adapting and anticipating changes in business needs.
• Develop, agree and maintain a suite of internal service standards to meet business needs.
• Plan and lead the organisation’s financial budget process ensuring a comprehensive capture of business needs and advise SMT and managers.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial management accounts are produced according to appropriate standards.
• Maintain a suitable suite of business financial policies, processes and controls that meet the business needs and are compliant with legislation and external standards.
• Lead the provision of commercial advice to directors, managers and staff to ensure best practice on procurement and contract management.

What you’ll need:

• Experience of operating successfully at a Finance Manager or Head of Finance role in a comparable organisation.
• A strategic and critical thinker with the ability to develop a team to deliver on long term goals.
• Understanding of risk, risk management processes and the use of risk analysis to help plan and develop organisations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences.
• Skilled manager of people, able to bring together, motivate, coordinate and develop a team.
• Excellent commercial skills, including the capacity to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.

Director of Impact & Development – The Solicitors’ Charity

We’re looking for a Director of Impact & Development to develop and implement income generation and communication strategies and to develop strategy and practice around impact measurement and client feedback collection. The Solicitor’s Charity is the independent charity that, since 1858, has been supporting solicitors and their dependants in times of need or crisis.

Salary: c£66,000 - c£70,500(rising to c£67,250 - c£71,750 after successful completion of 6-month probationary period). The point on these salary ranges at which you will be paid is currently dependent on your location.

Flexible working arrangements are possible, including homeworking with occasional attendance in person at meetings, largely in central London (6-8 per year). Most staff work from home, though we also have an office in southwest London.

The Director of Impact and Development role

 We have recently agreed our strategy for 2024-2026. Two key objectives for this period are to grow and diversify our funding streams and to increase awareness of the charity.  We are also keen to understand better the impact that our activities have on our clients so that we can ensure that we are doing well the things they need to support them and so that we have stories to tell to help with fundraising and communications. Finally, we are keen to engage members of the profession in spreading the word about our work, including through a volunteer ambassadors’ scheme.

As holder of this senior role you will lead in these areas, developing and implementing effective strategies ad processes. You will work initially with our existing communications agency and with fundraising consultants but by the end of the year will need to have formed a view and put in place plans that either continue with these arrangements or bring more work in house.

Success in the role will be shown by significantly more income coming from sources other than our investments and donations of unclaimed client balances by law firms; by more people knowing about, supporting, and approaching the charity for help; and by us understanding better what works to help our clients and using this knowledge to promote development of the charity.

We’re looking for someone with at least 10 years’ experience in leading change in organisations (as an employee and/or a consultant) and evaluating organisational impact through metrics, feedback and benchmarking. At least 10 years’ experience in leading a marketing, communications and/or a fundraising function with proven experience in leading the development and implementation of marketing, fundraising and communications strategies and implementation plans in a similarly sized and geared organisation. You will also have a track record in developing organisational design, targets, operating models and business modelling in the charities and not-for-profit sector.

Other key demonstrable skills and experience include:

· Strong interpersonal and partnership skills, able to influence and work with a range of stakeholders at all levels, within and outside of the organisation.

· Ability to lead and motivate others and create strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

· Strategic thinker, able to see the big picture, recognise long-lasting, high impact decisions and implement clear operational delivery plans

· Strong analytical skills to be able to provide analysis of financial information (and other data) and oversight.

· Ability to present ideas, concepts, plans, and policies at Board level (and to a range of individuals, including senior external contacts) clearly and persuasively.

· Experience of working in a flatter organisational structure where levels of resource mean being willing and able to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
